Install French Language on Oracle Application R12.1.1 (Fresh Install)

High Level Steps

Install Oracle Applications R12.1.1 with character set as WE8IS08859P1

Enable French language from OAM

Apply Patch 8576725

Run ADADMIN - Maintain Multi-Lingual tables

Download French Patch from http://edelivery.oracle.com

Apply the French patch 6678700_F

Run the Translation Synchronization Patch utility – creates manifest file

Request Translation Synchronization Patches – upload manifest file

Apply French Localization Patch

Install Online Help

Note - Run RapidWiz and install R12.1.1. with American English NLS (select

French during the installation). If you already have installed R12.1.1, go to

OAM > License Manager and activate French language.

Pre-installation Tasks

Apply US Patch 8576725 to your Release 12.1.1 system. This patch includes updates to NLS Installation and Admerge performance enhancements. Refer to the patch Readme for installation instructions.

Post-installation Tasks

After you install translations, complete the following tasks to finish the installation.

Install Font Files

For dynamic image generation, font files are required on the Web server (Oracle HTTP server, powered by Apache) to support the active Applications languages. Unicode font files are shipped with Oracle E-

Business Suite, and should be installed if either of the following conditions applies to your installation:

Multiple languages from different native character sets are active

The operating system of the node that contains the Web server is not configured with the

required language support for the active languages

If you require the font files, refer to Install Oracle Unicode Fonts for Dynamic Image Generation in Oracle

E-Business Suite on My Oracle Support.

Restart the Apache Service

On the node that contains the Web server, restart the Apache service to enable the new languages on

the login page.

UNIX:

$ cd $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME

$ adapcctl.sh stop

$ adapcctl.sh start

Install Online Help

Translations for Release 12.1.1 Online Help Patch 6746000 are currently available. You can apply this

patch to a Release 12.1.1 system; it provides translations from base Release 12.0 to Release 12.1.1. You do not need to apply the US version of this patch.

If you have already applied the Release 12.0 Online Help patch for a language Patch 5051400, you can

apply the translations for Online Help Patch 7303031, after the US version of this patch was applied. This

patch provides translations for Release 12.1.1 and does not contain the base Release 12.0 Online Help content.

Hi Naji,

In Release 12, Rapid install only installs American English. So, to add Arabic you need to do the following:

- Run RapidWiz and install R12 with American English NLS (select Arabic during the installation). If you already have installed R12, go to

OAM > License Manager and activate Arabic language.

- From AD Administration, run Maintain Multi-lingual Tables (AD Administration Main Menu > Maintain Applications Database Entities

Menu).

- Apply NLS patch 6394500

- Run the Translation Synchronization Patch utility (adgennls.pl).
