3 Device overview ▪ The telecommunication device W-FM COM enables remote access via the internet to

process data and parameters of a burner equipped with W-FM 50, W-FM 54, W-FM 100 or W-FM 200 combustion manager.

▪ It interrogates values from the W-FM as Modbus-Master. The Modbus interface on the W-FM is therefore occupied and cannot be used by PLC or DDC.

▪ The values are displayed by integral web server and can be called up from a PC using a Browser.

▪ Physical interface Modbus: 9 pole Sub-D socket (male) via RS232 or RS485. ▪ Physical interface LAN: Ethernet 10/100BaseTX. ▪ Integrated GSM/GPRS QB Modem with SMA-F socket. ▪ One digital input and one digital output are integrated in the W-FM COM, both can be

configured.

Input/output add-on module W-FM COM M-7002

▪ With an optional add-on module, an additional 4 analogue inputs, 5 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs can be displayed on a webpage of the W-FM COM.

▪ If the add-on module is used, the Modbus connection must always be made via RS485. For each burner connected, an RS converter is required for each W-FM.

▪ To use these functions, the W-FM COM must have at least website version 2.0.1.

SIM card

1. SIM card with public IP

▪ Use of an internet-ready SIM card with public IP. Whether the chosen provider offer this option must be obtained from him.

▪ Internet access must be enabled and a relevant data package price plan should have been selected. With occasional to daily use at least 30 MB / month should be available.

2. Use of the additional service “mdex“

The SIM card required should be obtained prior to commissioning, the following link can be used for ordering pruposes and to enter into a contrct with the company mdex: ▶ www.weishaupt.de/WCM-COM for ordering and for the activation portal. ▶ Provider selection with inclusive minutes.

There is a choice of two mobile service providers: ▪ Vodafone – 150 MB currently for 13.31 € per monthplus one-off fee of 24.29 €. ▪ T-Mobile – 120 MB currently for 16.99 € per month plus one-off fee of 24.29 €.

9.4.2 Network settings

Depending on the network or connection already available various settings must be

made relative to the network. ▶ The setting Automatic (Standard) or Manual should be selected as IP mode. ✓ Automatic: The W-FM COM receives a free IP address suitable for the network

connected, which also supports this function (DHCP). ✓ Manual: For manually administered networks, it is necessary to have a specific IP

address, the subnet, the Gateway and the DNS Server assigned. These are entered accordingly in the field below.

▶ The Internet version currently selected is shown here for information. ▶ The MAC address is the unique identification address of the W-FM COM in the

network. For integration into existing (local) networks, the activation of the device using its MAC address may be required. This is factory assigned to the device and can not be changed

Any changes made relative to the network will only take effect after a restart of the W-FM COM.

9.4.3 System address Entering the system address. This can be a maximum of 60 characters and will be sent

with e-mails and SMS notifications.

9.4.4 Recipient addresses 1, ..., 5 Contact data of the recipient for SMS and Email notifications.

Here, it can be selected whether the recipient is to receive the notification in the form of an SMS, an email or both. The display shows whether the recipient is notified of changes to the status of the digital input, a Modbus error / burner fault or of limit value violations. It is possible to send a test email and test SMS.

Following a re-start or power outage, the W-FM COM will re-send any existing alarm messages (Modbus error, limit value monitoring, input or burner fault / lockout).

If limit value monitoring with a min. value > 0 has been set up on the the input / output add-on module, the W-FM COM sends a message at re-start because the analog inputs are initialised at 0.
