Notes: Recommended hydraulic oil (2 gallons included):
Hydrex Extreme – P/N 038-55087 – Approximately 1-1/2 gallons required
1. This kit you purchased either converts a 40’/42’ 2009 or newer Timpte trailer or a 48’/50’ 2009 or
newer Timpte trailer from existing manual crank hopper doors to Easy Flow hydraulic doors.
2. It is recommended to use Hydrex Extreme which is a biodegradable; all season soy based hydraulic
fluid rated to be fluid down to -65°F.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. REMOVE EXISTING MANUAL DOOR OPENERS.
a. Remove the three bolts that hold the manual crank shaft. b. Remove the cross shaft by removing the two side brackets from door rails. There are two bolts per side
of door. Repeat for both doors. Save the fasteners for use on the manual over ride system.
2. VERIFY THAT THE DOORS ROLL SMOOTHLY.
a. Pull the doors open and closed a few times and determine if they are operating smoothly. b. If there is binding on the doors, determine why they are not operating smoothly and rebuild the doors if
necessary. See the trailer manual for instructions on how to adjust.
3. REMOVE THE DOOR ROLLERS.
a. Remove four rollers per door rail. Save the rollers, washers, and nuts for reinstalling with the hydraulic cylinders. The bolts will be replaced with supplied 3/8-16 x 2”.
b. For a 40’/42’ trailer: i) 37” door length start from the manual door opener cross shaft, remove the next two rollers and
then skip two then remove the next two. Rollers and bolts can be seen in the following figure. ii) 42” door length start from the manual door opener cross shaft, remove the next roller and then
skip two then remove the next two. c. For a 48’/50’ trailer:
i. 46 ½” start from the manual door opener cross shaft, remove the next two rollers and then skip five then remove the next two.
ii. 51 ½” start from the manual door opener cross shaft, remove the next roller and then skip five then remove the next two.
Three bolts per door opener to be removed.
Four bolts per door opener shaft (two per side) to be removed.

4. INSTALL HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS.
a. Install the hydraulic cylinders using the 3/8-16 X 2” long stainless steel bolts and the rollers and hardware saved from the previous step.
b. For the 42” doors and the 51 ½” doors you will have to hold the cylinder up to the trap frame rail and mark where the front hole will need to be placed.
c. Drill 13/32” hole through the trap frame. d. Install the hydraulic cylinders using the 3/8-16 X 2” long stainless steel bolts and the rollers and
hardware saved from the previous step. e. Hydraulic cylinder rods need to point toward the center of the trailer. Do not completely tighten the
bolts until the door brackets are installed. (DO NOT REMOVE PLUGS UNTIL READY TO INSTALL FITTINGS OR HOSES.)
5. INSTALL DOOR BRACKETS.
a. With the doors completely closed, install the door brackets onto the hydraulic cylinders with the 5/8”-11 Jam nuts.
b. Screw one Jam nut onto the cylinder rod as far as possible. c. Place the door bracket onto the cylinder rod and screw a second jam nut onto the cylinder rod to
capture the door bracket. d. Move the door bracket until it is flush with the front of the door.
Remove these door rollers and bolts, four per side rail. (40’/42’ with 37” door shown) 2012 model year and newer move one set of holes forward.

Install hydraulic cylinders with the 3/8” X 2 bolt – washer – roller – washer – washer – trap frame – cylinder foot – washer – nut. (40’/42’ shown)

e. Position and clamp the door brackets to the front of the door flange. f. Drill two 13/32” holes in the door thru the center of the slots in each of the door brackets. g. Unclamp the door brackets from the front of the door flange and swing the door brackets up behind the
lip of the door. h. Lay the reinforcing angle on the door brackets and center between the brackets to align the holes in the
reinforcing angle and the door brackets. Clamp the angle and the door brackets together. i. If necessary mark and drill the two 13/32” holes that are needed to attach the reinforcing angle to the
door bracket into the bottom flanges of the door brackets. Use the existing holes in the reinforcing angle as a guide.
j. Using the 3/8” x 1 ¼” bolts and 3/8” nuts, loosely attach the reinforcing angle to the door brackets. k. From the back side of the door lip drill four 13/32” hole through the reinforcing angle using the door
brackets and holes previously drilled in the lip of the door. l. Insert a 3/8” x 2” bolt through the 13/32” hole in the front of each of the reinforcing brackets. m. Install the reinforcing bracket by sliding the bolt through the inner hole of the door bracket, the lip of
the door, and the reinforcing angle and use a 3/8” flange nut to secure. n. Install the 3/8” x 1 1/4” bolts and 3/8” flange nuts through the remaining holes in the door brackets, the
lip of the door and the reinforcing angle. o. Remove the outer jam nuts from the cylinder rods, they will be installed later. p. Slide the door open so there is access to the top of the door. q. From the bottom side of the door drill four 1/4” holes through the door using the holes in the
reinforcing brackets as a guide. r. From the top side of the door countersink the four holes so that the M6 x 35 socket flat head screw will
fit flush against the top of the door. s. Install the four M6-1.0 x 35mm flat head socket cap screw and M6 nuts through the door and the
reinforcing bracket. t. Tighten the 3/8” flanged locking nuts to hold the bracket and the reinforcing angle in place.
i. If Huck bolts are available, they can be used instead of the standard bolts. Huck bolts are not included in this kit. Use Timpte part numbers 032-01512 – Huckbolt 3/8 uncapped #8, and 032-37347 – Collar Huck 3/8”.
u. After the brackets are attached to the doors tighten the bolts attaching the cylinders to the door frame.
Clamp door bracket to the front lip level with the edge of the door. Drill 13/32” holes in center of each slot.
Capture the door bracket with two 5/8” jam nuts.

Clamp the door bracket and the reinforcing angle together and secure with 3/8” x 1 ¼” bolts and nuts. If necessary drill holes in bottom lip of the door bracket using the reinforcing angle as a guide.

6. REPLACE THE STEEL ROLLER BEARINGS WITH NYLON ROLLER BEARINGS. (IF NEEDED)
a. Remove the steel roller bearings. i. Remove four of the roller bearings on the open side of the trap frame two from each side.
ii. Keep the bolts and nuts to be reused with the nylon bearings. b. Install the new nylon roller bearings.
i. Install the new bearings using the existing bolt – M10 washer – nylon roller – trap frame – M10 washer – nut.
ii. Tighten the nut until it is tight. The nylon roller does not turn the trap door slides across it.

Existing 3/8” x 1-1/2” bolt – M10 washer – Nylon Roller – trap frame
Attach reinforcing bracket, and the door bracket to rear lip of the door and the reinforcing angle to the front lip of the door with 3/8” x 2 bolts and nuts on both sides. Finish attaching the door brackets using 3/8” x 1 ¼” bolts and nuts.
Drill 1/4” holes from the underside of the door using the reinforcing bracket as a guide. Counter-sink the topside of the door to make the M6x35 screw flush. Install the M6-1.0 x 35 screws and nuts.

7. INSTALL THE PUMP AND THE DOUBLE BLOCKING VALVE ASSEMBLY.
a. Clamp the pump mount bracket to the cross c-channel closest to the ground. Position it at the start of the radius of the bend and the edge 18” from the curb side rail.
b. Drill five 9/32” holes in the cross c-channel. Install the bracket with ¼” X 1-1/2” bolts, ¼” nuts and ¼” lock washers.

8. DRILL THE HOLES FOR THE CROSS HOSES.
a. Drill two 1-1/8” holes with a hole saw in each trap frame rail as shown below. b. Total of 8 holes required per trailer. c. Drill holes perpendicular to surface of trap frame. d. Be careful not to hit the tub when drilling holes. e. Insert 034-40444 – ¾” RUBBER GROMMET into holes.

9. INSTALL HYDRAULIC FITTINGS.
a. When installing hydraulic fittings, hand tighten all fittings until entire all fittings and hoses are installed. When all connections are made, go back and tighten all fittings.
b. Proper way to install hydraulic fittings and hoses. i. 37 Degree JIC Fitting Assembly Instructions
1. Lubricate threads and the entire surface of the cone with hydraulic/system fluid. 2. Align matting components for hand connection and turn flare nut until sealing surface
makes full contact. 3. Torque flare nut to the 18-20 foot/lbs. for -6 fittings. All torques are wet torques. Do
not tighten dry. 4. Alternative to torque method in Step 3 is to tighten nut until firm resistance is felt. Turn
Flare nut clockwise additional no less than 30 degrees and no more than 90 degrees. Again lubrication of fitting is required before tightening.
ii. SAE O-Ring Adapter Assembly Instructions 1. Lubricate O-ring and treads of fitting with hydraulic/system fluid. 2. Looking at fitting from end with nut/washer/O-ring assembly, back off lock nut far as
possible by turning nut clockwise as far as possible on fitting. 3. Turn fitting into port until the washer touches the highest spot on the fitting and to
sudden resistance is felt. 4. Back off fitting counterclockwise for proper alignment but do not exceeding one
revolution. 5. Tighten lock nut to 8-10 ft. /lbs. for (-4) and 12-16 ft. /lbs. for (-6) All torques are wet
torques. Do not tighten dry. 6. Alternative to torque method in Step 5 is to tighten nut until firm sudden resistance is
felt while holding fitting in place. Turn lock nut clockwise an additional 1 to 1-1/4 flat revolution. Again lubrication of fitting is required before tightening.

If the hoses going across the rear of the trap frame seem too long rotate the 90° fitting on the roadside of the tub forward to use up the slack. The excess is necessary for trailers where the cylinders are mounted 4” forward on the tub rail.
12. INSTALL HOSE BRACKETS.
a. All hose brackets are to be installed on the curb side of the trailer. b. Brackets are to be installed with the included ¼” x 1-1/2” bolts and ¼” nylock nuts. If installer has access
to Huck guns and bolts, optional use of 032-02087 – HUCKBOLT ¼ #10 UNCAPPED and 032-02000 – COLLAR HYUCK ¼” STD FLANGE is approved.
c. Clamp bracket into position and transfer drill holes. Lower edge of brackets is located 2-1/2” down from the edge of the tube rail, and 4-1/2” from the large hole for the cross hose.
d. Bracket 041-51075 installs on the front tub. e. Bracket 041-51075 installs on the rear tub.
f. On the side of the tub rail, install two 041-51077 brackets. g. Total of 4 brackets to be installed. h. Remove old Huckbolt and install bracket with new hardware. i. Install bracket with shorter leg against the trap frame rail.

Rear hopper 029-51240 – 134” hydraulic hose 40’/42’ trailers 029-51458 – 156” hydraulic hose 48’/50’ trailers opposite end with 45 degree fitting attaches to cylinder rod end.

viii. Mount all hoses as shown in pictures below using the following hardware. 1. 032-01284 – 1/4” x 1-1/2” stainless steel bolt. 2. 032-44653 – ¼” stainless steel nylock nut. 3. 031-51080 – 5/8” Jiffy clip. 4. 021-00843 – zip tie 7-1/2” long.
ix. After all hoses are mounted and secured, tighten all fittings.

15. INSTALL CONTROL BOX AND WIRING.
b. Mount control box bracket part number 041-52565. i. 032-01284 – 1/4” x 1-1/2” stainless steel bolt.
ii. 032-44653 – ¼” stainless steel nylock nut. c. Mount leading edge of the bracket in line with the pump mount bracket as shown. d. Mount control box with (4) ¼” x 1-1/2” stainless steel bolts and ¼” stainless steel nylock nuts. e. Drill ¾” hole even with the leading edge of the mount bracket, 1” above the bend in the side rail as

SLOWLY, CONSTENTLY CHECKING THE DEPTH. AS SOON AS THE TIP OF THE DRILL BIT GOES THRU THE HOLE, US A SMALL PICK AND FLASHLIGHT TO MAKE SURE ALL WIRES AND HOSES ARE CLEAR. CONTINUE TO DRILL A LITTLE AND CHECK AGAIN, UNTIL THE HOLE IS COMPLETE.
f. Install 031-50470 – Wiring Harness, Solenoids - from control box to hydraulic pump and blocking valve as shown.
i. On all terminal ends, please use 035-52548 – Corrosion Protection Grease. ii. Connect the plug on the 031-50470 wiring harness to the socket on the back of the control box.
iii. Connect the red wire on wiring harness 031-50470 to the left “W” terminal on the back of the control box.
iv. Connect the black wire on the wiring harness 031-50470 to the right “W” terminal on the back of the control box.
Line up leading edge of bracket with the hydraulic pump mount bracket.
Locate bracket ¼” from bottom of side rail.
Drill ¾” hole even with leading edge of bracket and ½” above bend in side rail using CAUTION.
Connect plug of wiring harness 031-50470 to socket on the back of the control box.
Connect black wire of wiring harness 031-50470 to terminal right “W” on the back of the control box.
Connect red wire of wiring harness 031-50470 to terminal left “W” on the back of the control box.

g. Attach control wiring harness to trailer. i. Attach wiring harness with 021-35989 – zip tie w/push in barb.
ii. Drill ¼” hole for each zip tie location. Space evenly so that the wiring harness is held securely in place.
h. Install the ground wire to the control box. i. Drill a 7/16” hole in the side rail as shown. Clean both sides of the tub rail with a stainless steel
brush. This will ensure a solid contact between the tub rail and the ground wire. ii. Mount ground stud and wire to side rail.

i. Install power wire. i. Using a fish tape, pull 031-50504 – Red 4 gage x 28 feet long power wire thru side rail and thru
the 3/4” hole that was drilled by the control box. Pull enough wire thru the hole so that it reaches the control box.
1. Pull enough wire (approximately 16”) thru the hole so that it reaches the control box. 2. Install 031-19057 – ½” Black convoluted wire loom on the wire so that the loom goes
thru the hole in the side rail to protect the wire. 3. Install 031-51479 – through the 4. Attach the wire end to the “+” terminal on the back of the control box. 5. Apply 035-52548 – Corrosion protection grease to the terminal. 6. Cover terminal with the red battery boot.
j. Install plug receptacle in nose of trailer. i. Determine best location for plug receptacle in relation to the other attachments that are on the
nose plate. (See page 23 for actual size hole pattern) 1. Drill a 2-1/4” hole in the nose plate where there is access to it. Exact location to be
determined as “best fit”. 2. Insert receptacle into hole and drill bolt holes. 3. Attach receptacle to trailer with:
a. 032-43152 – ¼” stainless steel screws. b. 032-44653 – ¼” stainless steel nylock nuts.
k. Install ground wire and wire receptacle. i. Drill a 7/16” hole in the z-post as shown approximately 8” above the receptacle hole.
ii. Mount ground stud and wire to z-post. 1. 032-44809 – 3/8” stainless steel bolt. 2. 032-44905 – 3/8” stainless steel flat washer.

iii. Wire receptacle with power wire and ground wire. 1. Push both wires thru 034-51020 – 2 pole receptacle boot. 2. Install power wire on the receptacle. 3. Install ground wire on the receptacle. 4. Push boot over the plug.
16. FINISH INSTALL
l. Apply power to the unit by plugging into a 12 volt power supply. m. Program the remote to the control box per included instructions. n. Bleed all hydraulic lines.
i. Slightly loosen hydraulic fittings at the cylinders one at a time. ii. Run pump until oil is seen at the fittings.
iii. Re-tighten the fitting. iv. Repeat for all fittings at all the cylinders. v. Run doors open and closed a few times to make sure all air is out of lines.
vi. Refill the hydraulic reservoir to the full line.
17. INSTALL THE MANUAL OVER RIDE
a. Remove the existing 1 1/2” nuts from the end of the cross shafts so you can remove the side brackets. b. Remove the two side brackets from both of the cross shafts. There are two bolts holding the brackets to
each of the bearings supporting the cross shafts. Do not use the existing brackets because they will interfere with the closing of the door when the cylinder mount brackets are installed.
c. Attach the new side brackets to the bearing supports using the bolts and nuts from the old brackets. Snug the nuts but do not fully tighten.
d. Hold the cross shaft assembly under the trap door using the bolt holes where it was originally mounted. e. Put the new 1 1/2" nuts onto the end of the cross shafts making sure it doesn’t hit the cylinder. The hole
in the nut is close to the trap frame. Mark where the hole will be drilled. f. Remove the cross shaft assembly and Drill .413 (Z drill bit) or .406 (13/32” drill bit) hole through the
cross shaft where it is marked. g. Drive the 3/8” x 1 1/2" groove pin through the nut and the cross shaft. h. Attach the cross shaft loosely to the trap frame using the saved fasteners from the old installation. i. Hang the shaft assembly between the trap frame rails using the fasteners shown in the figure at the
bottom. Do not tighten the fasteners yet. The view is from beneath on the road side of the trailer.
Install ground stud as described above.

j. Ensure that the teeth on each spur gear engage the same tooth location on the formed gear rack. In other words, if one gear tooth engages the third formed gear rack tooth from the end, the other gear must also engage the third formed gear rack tooth. Move the shaft assy. and door as needed to obtain correct alignment.
k. When the teeth are aligned properly, tighten the fasteners that attach the shaft assembly bracket to the trap frame. Move the door back and forth to ensure the door moves smoothly.
l. Install the two outer 5/8”-11 jam nuts onto the cylinder end. m. Coat the threads with anti-sieze and place the black plastic covers over the threads to protect them
from corrosion and damage.
18. WIRING THE TRACTOR
a. Verify that the positive wire is on the top of the plug when connected. b. Connect the 4” jumper wire to the BAT terminal on the circuit breaker. c. Connect the positive (red) wire coming from the two pole plug to the AUX terminal on the circuit
breaker. d. Connect the ground (black) wire to the main ground post on the tractor. e. Connect the 4” jumper wire to a positive terminal on a battery.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Programming Remote to the Easy Flow Hopper Doors:
1. Power up the control box. Hold the “Open” and “Close” buttons on the control box for 3 seconds or until control box light comes on to indicate the control box is activated.
2. Open transmitter and observe flashing light.
3. Push “MODE” button to select “Front Hopper” Mode (First two lights flashing).
4. One to four transmitters can be programmed. All transmitters are to require to be programmed while light is
flashing.
5. Push and hold “Programming /Work Light” button on control box, for approximately 8 seconds, until the
illuminated light on the control box starts flashing.
6. Press the On/Open button on the flip style for the first remote control to be programmed for 1 second (see
Figure 2.1 below). The red light on the control box will stop flashing for a moment and then start flashing again.
Repeat this for all the remote controls that need to be programmed while the light on the control box is still
flashing. If one transmitter is being programmed, the “ON/OPEN” button will be pushed four times. If two
transmitters are being programmed then the “ON/OPEN” button of the second transmitter will be pushed three
times. If three transmitters are being programmed then the “ON/OPEN” button of the third transmitter will be
pushed two times. When four transmitters are programmed press the “ON/OPEN” button of each transmitter
once. The light on the control module will stop flashing when the four inputs have been received. Close lid of
programmed transmitters to power down transmitters.
7. Power down control box. Hold the Front Hopper “Open” and “Close” buttons for 3 seconds or until control box light goes off.

Setting Functions on Remote:
Setting function allows functions to be blocked if not required /not going to be used.
1. Open transmitter. Observe flashing light.
2. Press and hold “MODE” button for 10 - 12 seconds until the top light stays lit.
3. Press the “ON/OPEN” button if this function will be used. Select and press the “OFF/CLOSE” button if you want
this function to be skipped.
4. Repeat Step 3 for all five functions.
a. 1 LIGHT - TARP SYSTEM
b. 2 LIGHTS - FRONT HOPPER
c. 3 LIGHTS - REAR HOPPER
d. 4 LIGHTS - AUXILIARY
