Mobile Solutions Prerequisites Install

Note: Installation requires Local Administrative right to install properly. If you do not have or do

not know if you have those rights, contact your IT representative. Set UAC to lowest setting.

1. Complete Install

a. Copy all install files to a folder you create on the C drive called “Mobile Solutions

SW”

b. Navigate to C:\Mobile Solutions SW\Mobile Solutions Prerequisites

c. Right Click “MSPrerequisites Install.exe” and Run as administrator

d. Click Next

e. Click “Complete” or “Custom”

Prerequisites will determine if SQL, IIS and the appropriate .net versions are installed. If one or more is installed, you will get the option to select and install the missing parts. (see step “e”).

Note: The files cannot be copied further than one folder away from the root.

f. If you selected “Custom” choose the version of .net, IIS, and SQL that you would

like to install then click “Install”. Install IIS 7.5 on Windows 7 and IIS 10 on

Windows 10. Install SQL 32bit on a 32bit system and SQL 64bit on a 64bit

system.

g. When everything is finished installing select “Finish” to complete the

prerequisites install

1. Right Click “Run InitialInstaller.exe” and Run as administrator (C:\Mobile Solutions

SW\InitialInstaller.exe)

1. Select the optional programs you want

2. Click Install

3. Click “Next”, “I Agree”, “Install”, or “Finish” on all install windows until the Installation

Complete message pops up (Some windows might take a minute to pop up)

4. Install Complete Click OK

5. Click the red “X” to Exit the installer

1. Select IDPix then Install

2. Click Install

3. Click “Next”, “I Agree”, “Install”, or “Finish” on all install windows until the Installation

Complete message pops up.

Startup Setup

1. Double Click Mobile Solutions Icon on Desktop

2. Enter Database File location ie.. Computername\EDSExpress

3. Enter Database Name “EEMS”

4. Enter Username “Elliott”

5. Enter Password Default “Eds17825”

6. Click “Test Connection”

7. Click Create Database button.

8. Click Save to continue

9. Enter system ID

10. Enter host location

a. EEMS Web Server “localhost” Local Data Server “localhost”

b. Click Save to continue

c. Select Https where appropriate.

Note: (if installing client only enter in the location where the web server is located.

i.e. eemsweb.com)

ODBC DSN Connection

11. Create System DSN connection

a. 32 bit system select (C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe)

b. 64 bit system select (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe)

12. ODBC Data Source Administrator

a. Click Add under the System DSN tab

b. Select SQL Server

c. Enter Name “EEMS”

d. Enter Server name i.e. Computername\SQLExpress

e. Select “With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password entered

by the user.”

f. Enter Login ID “Elliott” Password “Eds17825” then Next

g. Check the “Change the default database to: “EEMS” then Next

h. Select Finished

i. Click “Test Data Source”

j. Click OK

k. Click OK to complete and close

Update 7.6.xx to current version

1. Double Click Mobile Solutions Icon on Desktop

2. Select Local Settings from the Quick Nav on left of screen to check for updates.

a. Check for updates

b. After downloading, the update will automatically start.

c. Select “Repair” if asked.

d. Complete install of update.

e. Check for updates and complete until software states that

there are no other updates available.

Install and update complete.

Manual Prerequisites

If you need to perform a manual install or reinstall the files are located on the flash drive

ISSetupPerquisites folder. Be sure to Rt Click and select “Run as Administrator”.

Installation notes

1. If smart reg is installed, you will need to create a new profile. See T20-MS Smartreg

create profile manual. The prerequisite files cannot be copied further than two folders

away from the root.

2. If one or more prerequisite is already installed, you will get the option to select and install

the missing parts. (custom install)

Version updates are located on the thumb drive provided if you need local updates.
