Requirements System: Server Ms. Windows 2000 or Advanced Server with

Service Pack 3. Available with Windows 2003.

Database Ms SQL Server 2000.

A. Preparing Installation

1. What should be installed before startingeBdesk Installation

Before starting eBdesk eXpander installation, you must

assured that this application must be installed in your server :

1.1Web Server: MS IIS version 5.x or higher.IIS Installer is exist in Operating System Installer. For

Windows 2000 Advanced Server, IIS is automaticallyinstalled when installation Operating System is running.

Besides IIS, eXpander could be installed in Apache Web

Server for Windows

1.2 Data Base : SQL Server Enterprise 2000While installing SQL Server, authentication mode must

be choosed Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and

SQL Server Authentication)

See figure i 1

1.3 Before installing eXpander Collaboration Suite, SMTP /Pop Server Service must be disabled because eXpander

eBdesk has mail server too and must be used to run the

eBdesk mail application. To be disabled SMTP service

please go to : Start > Setting > Control Panel >Administrative Tools > Services

Right Click Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP)

service , Choose properties, from General tab, chooseStartup Type then change it to be disabled

B. Installation ProcessInsert eBdesk CD installer into CD-ROM. You will get 2

directory, it content installation packet such as:

1. eBdesk eXpander Corporate Portal Platform2. eBdesk eXpander Collaboration Suite

Installation Process must be follow the arrangement above,

while for uninstall in effect on the other hand. To install

eBdesk eXpander do the steps bellow.

Running Setup Portal Builder

For installing eBdesk eXpander Corporate PortalPlatform, open eBdesk eXpander Corporate Portal

Platform directory and run file explatform.msi.

Setup Wizard Page will be displayed. Click

button for continue installation process. (See picture 1-1)

After click Next button, license agreement eBdesk

eXpander page will be displayed. Chose

for continue the installation

process, or chose tocancel the installation process.

Setup Information Customer

Information Customer Page will be displayed. Input

information customer as Name and Organization. (See

picture 1 3)

Folder Installation eXpander

This page it used to decide the destination folder where

eXpender application will be installed. Click Browsebutton to change default directory. (See picture 1 4)

Decide Web Server

This page it used to decide Web Server that will be used,

web server for eXpander application are IIS and Apache

Web Server. (See picture 1 5)

Setup SQL Server

Input host from SQL Server database. If SQL server

database and eBdesk eXpander installed on the same

server, input local host name or 127.0.0.1 in field SQL

Server Host.Input name and password from administrator system

for login to SQL server database.

Then click button to continue the installationprocess. (See picture 1 7)

Setup Proxy Server

Input Host Name and Port Number proxy server. You canlet the field empty if you do not want use proxy. Input

User ID and Password for login into proxy server.

Then click button to continue the installation

process. (See picture 1 8)

After you have done the following steps above , and

then you have already begin the installation process.Click button to begin installation process.

Installation Process

When installation process ongoing, progress bar will bedisplayed. Installation process is going on view minute

until progress bar is full. It signify that the process it

finished. (See picture 1-10)

Running Setup Collaboration SuiteFor installing eBdesk eXpander Collaboration Suite, run

file excollaboration.msi on eBdesk eXpanderCollaboration Suite directory.

Setup Wizard Collaboration Page will be displayed. Click

button to continue the installation process. (See

Chose to continue theinstallation or chose to

cancel installation process.

And then click button to continue the

After complete all of the installation phase above, you can login into eBdesk eXpander application by write the IP server

or domain name on the browser.

Example: http://localhost atau http://ebdesk.com

And then press Enter. You will be dihadapkan with eBdesk Corporate Portal Software login page. Input yourUser IDand Password (Case Sensitive):

User ID : administrator

Password :manager
