INSTALLATION GUIDE SPYDER GRILLE FOR MIATA ND 2016+ Thank you for the purchase of the Spyder grille for the 2016 Miata ND. Here are the different steps to install the product. 1. Removal of the bumper (Mazda Service manual instructions for removing/installing the bumper can be found there: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HD5- ai4D3TuL2C440402c9OLH1ByQugY/view?usp=drive_web) All screws are 8MM hex head with a cross tip option (Phillips head) except for the DRL lighting assembly and the grill removal from the back of the bumper which are cross tip only. • In each wheel well there are 4 release tabs. For the most part, they come out pretty easy with a thumb nail to get them started. Additionally, there is a screw above the last release tab, inside the wheel well cover. It's very difficult to see. Holding the wheel well cover back, and a flashlight, and screw driver had me wishing for a third arm. The screw is straight up and down, with the head at the bottom. • On the bottom of the bumper, there are 4 fasteners on each side holding a flexible guard at the wheels. 3 8MM hex head screws and one release tab. In the center, there are four screws (going on memory). • On the top of the bumper, with the hood open, there are approximately 3 to 4 screws and 2 more release tabs.

Allscrewsare8MMhexheadwithacrosstipoption(Phillipshead)exceptfortheDRLlightingassemblyandthegrillremovalfromthebackofthebumperwhicharecrosstiponly.

• Ineachwheelwellthereare4releasetabs.Forthemostpart,theycomeoutprettyeasywithathumbnailtogetthemstarted.Additionally,thereisascrewabovethelastreleasetab,insidethewheelwellcover.It'sverydifficulttosee.Holdingthewheelwellcoverback,andaflashlight,andscrewdriverhadmewishingforathirdarm.Thescrewisstraightupanddown,withtheheadatthebottom.

• Onthebottomofthebumper,thereare4fastenersoneachsideholdingaflexibleguardatthewheels.38MMhexheadscrewsandonereleasetab.Inthecenter,therearefourscrews(goingonmemory).

• Atthispoint,youcanpullthebumperforward,andtheonlythingholdingitarethecablingfortheDRLassembly.Youhavetwooptionshere.Disconnectthetabsholdingthecables,andremovethebulb,orcompletelyremovetheDRLhousing--thelargewhiteplasticassembly(bulbremovalstillrequired).Thehousingisheldinby6screws.Icouldn'tfigureouthowtoproperlyremovethecablefasteners,soIremovedthehousing.Thebottomscrewonthedriver'ssidewasdifficultinremovalandreinstallation.Infact,Icouldn'tgetthatlastscrewinuponreinstall.

• Nowthatyouhavethebumperoff,turnitaroundandyou'llnotethatthefactorygrillhasalotgoingonbackthere.Atthetop,you'llhavetoremove6screws,plustwomore.The"othertwo"areverysmallblackscrewswithaplasticclipbacking.You'llhavetoholdtheplasticparttogetthescrewheadtoturnandunscrewfromtheplasticsleeve.Finally,man-handlethatbadboyoutofitsholebysimultaneouslypressingtheclipsintheneededdirectionwhilepullingthegrillwithyourotherhand.Itwon'tjumpout;it'sabitofawrestlingmatch.
