Bentley Bash 2012

Thank you for registering for the Archway Systems’ Bentley Bash at Rio Hondo College. This document

will help you load the correct software for the training sessions. If you have agreed to bring your own

laptop, the software must be installed before coming to the Bash. There is not enough time during the

class to install the software. All installed products come with a 30-day trial period (with the exception of

Pointools which is a 21-day trial). If you have any questions during the installation or with the Bash in

general, please don’t hesitate to call us at (714) 374-0440.

Installation Instructions Please note the programs associated with the class you are attending. You will be able to download all

the programs from this link here. For more detailed information about installing these programs, please

click on the program name in the list below. If your class is not listed below, it is most likely because

your class is a lecture class and you do not need to download the software for lecture classes.

MicroStation V8i classes: 1. Download the file ms081109237en.exe (MicroStation V8i SS3) under MicroStation on the

website.

2. Install MicroStation V8i by double-clicking ms081109237en.exe. Follow screen prompts.

3. Launch MicroStation V8i SS3 by START>PROGRAMS>Bentley>MicroStation V8i (or icon on

desktop).

4. If you are taking a class with a dataset, download the dataset and save it somewhere on your

computer (i.e. your Desktop) where you can access it on the day of the Bash.

InRoads and Rail Track classes: Bentley Power Rail Track is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation; however, it does

require the prerequisite pack to be installed first.

1. Download the following files under All InRoads and Rail Track Classes on the website:

prt081107536en.exe (Power Rail Track V8i)

2. Also download the dataset under All InRoads and Rail Track Classes for the class you are taking

(InRoads Fundamentals or Rail Track Fundamentals) and save it to your hard drive.

3. Double-click prt081107536en.exe to install product and follow the screen prompts.

4. Next unzip the dataset to the root of C:\.

5. Launch Power Rail Track V8i by the Start menu under Bentley or by the icon on the desktop.

WaterGEMS/WaterCAD class: Bentley WaterGEMS is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation; however, it does require

the prerequisite pack to be installed first.

1. Download the following files under Water Modeling on the website:

pbda08110706en.exe (Prerequisite Pack)

wtrg08110231en.exe (WaterGEMS V8i)

2. Also download the dataset under Water Modeling and save it to your hard drive.

3. Install the prerequisite pack first by double-clicking on pbda08110706en.exe. This must be

installed first. Follow screen prompts.

4. Double-click wtrg08110231en.exe to install WaterGEMS and follow the screen prompts.

5. Launch each product using the icon on desktop.

Navigator class: Bentley Navigator is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation; however, it does require

the prerequisite pack to be installed first.

1. Download the following files under Navigator on the website:

pbda08110703en.exe (Prerequisite Pack) Must be installed first!

nav08110843en.exe (Navigator)

2. Double-click on pbda08110703en.exe to install the prerequisite pack; you must install this file first!

Next double-click on nav08110843en.exe to install Bentley Navigator. Follow the on-screen prompts.

3. Launch Navigator by START>PROGRAMS>Bentley>Bentley Navigator V8i (or icon on desktop).

AECOsim Energy Simulator class: AECOsim Energy Simulator is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation; however, it does

require the prerequisite pack to be installed first.

1. Download the following files under AECOsim on the website:

pbda08110703en.exe (Prerequisite Pack) Must be installed first!

es081107103en.exe (AECOsim Energy Simulator)

2. Load Prerequisites (pbda08110703en.exe) by double-clicking and following screen prompts.

3. Load Program (es081107103en.exe) by double-clicking and then following screen prompts.

4. Launch AECOsim Energy Simulator from the desktop icon or from the Start menu under Bentley.

AECOsim Building Designer class: 1. Download the following files under AECOsim on the website:

ms081109173en.exe (MicroStation V8i SS3)

bd081109181en.exe (AECOsim Building Designer)

2. Double-click on ms081109173en.exe to install MicroStation and follow screen prompts.

3. Double-click on bd081109181en.exe and follow the screen prompts to install AECOsim Building

Designer.

4. Launch program by using the start menu or the icon on the desktop.

Point Cloud Processing class: 1. Download and install MicroStation V8i SS3 following above instructions.

2. Click the Pointools Edit link under Point Cloud Processing on the website to download

PTEditPro_1.5110909b-en.exe.

3. Double-click PTEditPro_1.5110909b-en.exe to install the application and then follow the screen

prompts.

4. Launch Pointools Edit by START>PROGRAMS>Pointools>Pointools Edit 1.5 (or icon on desktop).

5. Download the Point Cloud Dataset to a location on your computer where you will remember and can

access it on the day of the Bash.

OpenPlant Modeler class: OpenPlant Modeler is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation. Follow the

instructions below to install.

1. Download the following file under OpenPlant Modeler on the website:

OpenPlant_Modeler.zip (OpenPlant Modeler)

2. Unzip the OpenPlant_Modeler.zip folder by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract All. Follow

screen prompts to save the files.

3. Install the files in order, according to the number prefix of each file. So, install

1_pbda08110706en.exe first. Then install 2_pwclt081109122en.exe. Then

3_opm08110878en.exe. Follow screen prompts for all installations.

4. Launch OpenPlant Modeler using the icon on desktop or from the Start menu under Bentley.

SewerGEMS/SewerCAD class: Bentley SewerGEMS is a standalone product. It does not need MicroStation. Follow the instructions

below to install.

5. Download the following file under Water Modeling on the website:

Sewer_Bash_Software.zip (SewerGEMS/SewerCAD)

6. Unzip the Sewer_Bash_Software.zip folder by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract All. Follow

screen prompts to save the files.

7. Install the files in order, according to the number prefix of each file. So, install

1_swrg08110246en.exe first. Then install 2_sewergems_Patch_08110246en.exe. Then

3_swrc08110246en.exe and lastly the dataset is 4_Sewer_Dataset.exe. Follow screen prompts

for all installations.

8. Launch each product using the icon on desktop.
