INSTALLATION NOTES FOR IDL7.1 SETUP
1. Download the setup file idl711linux.x86.tar.gz
2. Unpack the package idl711linux.x86.tar.gz in any folder (Preferably into your
home/idl folder). ou can do it in !"windows by double clicking on it or in command
mode using command like
tar "#$f idl711linux.x86.tar.gz
%. &ow this will become the IDL_!"#Directory.
e.g' f you unip it inside gu#$t%$ &!"#'idldirectory. *hen the D+ ,ome directory
will be'&!"#'gu#$t'idl
-. &ow get inside the D+ home and issue command .'in$tall
ou neednt change anything during the installation. Please follow the instructions
and choose default options.
