INSTALLATION

Client Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”

NOTE: If installing the fog lights kit, install the parking sensors kit first.

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver’s dashboard side lid.

3. Remove the driver’s dashboard side vent.

4. Remove the left trim, and unplug the vehicle connector.

6. Release and pull up on the rear seat cushion.NOTE: Place a piece of masking tape as shown to prevent the hook from engaging.

13. Remove the two bolts. Loosen the bolt, and turn the left bracket as shown.

14. Fold down the left rear seat-back.

15. Gently pull the inner handle on the left rear side trim panel, and use a small flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with a shop towel to remove the inner handle cap.

16. Remove the two screws from the left rear side trim panel.

17. Pull away the door opening seal and weatherstrip from around the left rear side trim panel. Remove the trim panel.

18. Release the cable from the left rear side trim panel, then remove the inner handle.

19. Pull away the door opening seal and weatherstrip from around the left quarter pillar trim.

20. Using a rubber mallet wrapped with a shop towel, lightly tap the area marked SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG on the left quarter pillar trim to push in the clip.NOTE: Make sure to strike the area perpendicular to the vehicle.

21. Remove the left quarter pillar trim.

22. Wrap a shop towel around the hood latch.

23. Remove the front bulkhead cover.

• Place the front bumper on a blanket.

27. Release the vehicle 12-pin connectors from the vehicle connectors.

28. Route the parking sensor harness up along the vehicle harness, and remove the tape to free the parking sensor harness 12-pin connector.

29. Unplug the vehicle 12-pin connector, and plug it into the parking sensor harness 12-pin connector.

30. Plug the vehicle 12-pin connector into the parking sensor harness 12-pin connector. Secure the 12-pin connectors to the vehicle connectors as shown.

31. Secure the parking sensor harness and 12-pin connectors to the vehicle harness with three wire ties.

32. Install the control unit bracket to the control unit.

36. Remove the vehicle clip.

37. Peel back the insulator, and remove the vehicle grommet. Route the parking sensor harness through the vehicle panel hole as shown.

38. Secure the grommet on the parking sensor harness to the vehicle panel hole.NOTE:

• While holding the grommet carefully insert it into the vehicle panel hole, and make sure it is seated properly.

• Do not pull on the socket or harness when installing the grommet.

39. Remove the vehicle ground bolt, and secure the parking sensor harness ground terminal using that bolt.NOTE: Do not put the ground terminal calkings on top of one another.

40. Secure the parking sensor harness to the vehicle harness with five wire ties.


41. Route the parking sensor harness along the vehicle harness, and secure it to the vehicle harness with four wire ties.

42. Using a pushpin, pierce the rear bumper at the center of the four scribe marks. NOTE: Make sure to pierce perpendicular to the rear bumper.

43. While wearing eye protection, drill the four pierced marks to 8.5 mm from the inside of the rear bumper.

• First, drill with a 3 mm drill bit, then follow with a 6 mm drill bit, and finish with an 8.5 mm drill bit.NOTE: Make sure to drill perpendicular to the rear bumper.

44. Using a 16 mm punch tool, punch out the four rear bumper holes as shown.NOTE: Make sure to hold the punch perpendicular to the rear bumper. Remove any burrs.

45. Using the two alcohol wipes, thoroughly clean the rear bumper where the two retainers A (round) and two retainers B (flat) will attach.

46. Remove the four adhesive backings from the two retainers A (round) and two retainers B (flat), and attach the two retainers A (round) and two retainers B (flat) to the rear bumper as shown.NOTE: Make sure the retainers are attached in the proper orientation.

47. Install the two rear sensors A and two rear sensors B to the two retainers A and two retainers B.NOTE: Make sure to install the sensors in the correct position.

49. Secure the rear bumper harness to the two rear sensors A and two rear sensors B with four clips on the rear bumper harness as shown.

50. Secure the rear bumper harness to the ribs on the rear bumper with the three clips on the rear bumper harness as shown.


51. With the help of an assistant, bring the rear bumper close to the vehicle, and plug the rear bumper harness 4-pin connector into the parking sensor harness 4-pin connector.

52. Wrap the urethane tape around the 4-pin connectors as shown. Install the rear bumper.

58. Secure the front bumper harness to the front bumper with the eight clips on the front bumper harness as shown.

59. Secure the front bumper harness to the front bumper with the seven holders as shown.

60. With the help of an assistant, bring the front bumper close to the vehicle, and plug the front bumper harness 12-pin connector into the vehicle 12-pin connector as shown. Install the front bumper.

63. Remove the vehicle switch from the driver’s dashboard lower cover.

65. Plug the subharness 8-pin connector into the switch. Install the driver’s dashboard lower cover.

66. Remove the vehicle clip, and install the clip to the left quarter pillar trim.

67. Check the overlap between the headliner and the left quarter pillar trim. NOTE: Check and adjust the overlap as described in the service information.

68. Install the left quarter pillar trim. NOTE:

• Make sure the side curtain airbag is not tucked under the clip.

• Do not push the left quarter pillar trim excessively.


69. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and that all connectors are plugged in.

70. Install all removed parts.

71. Connect the negative cable to the battery.

72. Press and hold the audio unit power button for 2 seconds to restore the audio and navi (if equipped) system functions.

73. Set the clock on vehicles without navigation.

74. If necessary, restore the systems back to normal operation as described in the service information.

Check the Operation of the Parking Sensors

75. Make sure the parking sensors work properly as described in the online owner’s manual.
