Installing SPSS on your Personal Computer Macintosh Installation Instructions Windows Installation Instructions Should you encounter problems installing SPSS, please contact the HSU Help Desk (826-4357) or your instructor. Macintosh Installation Instructions:

1. If you are installing SPSS on a Macintosh computer, you can download the software here (you will be asked to login with your HSU user name and password).

2. Double click on SPSS_Statistics_Installer in your computer’s Downloads folder in Finder.

3. You may be prompted to enter a User Name and Password to install SPSS on your device.

4. Proceed through the installer selecting “OK” on the first screen

5. Select “Next”

6. Select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and select “Next”

7. Select “Yes” and “Next”

8. Choose Install Folder: Click “Next” to install “26” in the folder “Statistics” on the disk “Macintosh HD” or click Choose to install to a different folder.

9. Select “Install” in next window: “Pre-Installation Summary”

10.The next screen will show you that it is “Installing IBM SPSS Statistics 26”

11.When the installation completes, be sure to select “Start SPSS Statistics 26 License Authorization Wizard Now” and select “Done”

12. IBM SPSS Statistics 26 Licensing will launch. Click Next.

13.Select Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product), then click Next.

14. Copy and paste the Authorization Code provided by your Instructor into the Enter Code field and select “Next”

15. Internet Authorization will begin and once it completes, you will see a message, “End of Transaction. Successfully processed all codes.” Select “Next”.

16. Select “Finish” when you receive a message indicating “Licensing Completed”. You have now successfully installed SPSS!

17. You can launch SPSS from the Applications folder in Finder.

Windows Installation Instructions: 1. If you are installing SPSS on a Windows computer, you can download the software here (you

will be asked to login with your HSU user name and password). 2. Double click on SPSS_Statistics_26_win32 in your computer’s Downloads folder. This will

open a window asking permission to run the program. Click yes.

3. Proceed through the InstallShield Wizard by selecting “Next” through the following windows:

4. Select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and select “Next”

6. Destination folder: Click next to install to this folder or click Change to install to a different folder.

7. Installing IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Select “Next” once the installation is complete

8. When InstallShield Wizard Completed, be sure to select “Start SPSS Statistics 26 License Authorization Wizard Now” and select “Finish”

9. SPSS Statistics 26 Licensing window will open. Select “Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product)”. Click Next.

13. You can launch SPSS from the Start menu.
