welcome the new session with a new zeal. The
latest edition of our monthly E-Newsletter
Radiance – June 2018 brings forth the efforts
undertaken by the Institute and its members to
excel not only as teachers but efficient
researchers as well. With the final year students
settling in their new jobs and others striving hard
as interns in various companies, the faculty
members took some time to indulge in their own
development. June was a month of learning from
various mentors in the form of DRC, FDP and
CEGR Conclave. This edition captures the
moments in brief.

1. Dhivya Suryadevara, an Indian-American
woman hailing from Chennai, has been
appointed the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
of General Motors – the largest automaker
in the USA. She is the first woman to assume
this prestigious post in the company.
2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hiked its
repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25 percent.
3. IDBI CEO Mahesh Kumar Jain has been
appointed as fourth Deputy Governer of RBI
for aq three year term.
4. India has notified higher tariffs on 29 items
imported from United States (US). This is
w a s i n r e t a l i a t i o n a g a i n s t U S
announcement imposing tariffs on steel
and aluminium items — 25% and 10%
respectively — imported from all countries
except Canada and Mexico in March 2018
to compensate from loss of revenue. The 29
items includes agricultural products such as
almonds, apples, chickpeas, lentils, and
walnuts, and industrial inputs such as some
grades of iron and steel products.
5. Indian IT industry's apex body NASSCOM
(National Association of Software &
Services Companies) has launched 'Women
Wizards Rule Tech' programme to increase
number of women in senior levels in
Information Technology (IT) industry. The
programme was announced in March 2018
at Nasscom Diversity and Inclusion Summit
in Chennai as joint initiative by Nasscom
Sector Skills Council and Data Security
Council of India.

This International Management Conclave was supported by THSC, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and MESC, National Skill Development Corporation. Faculty Development Initiatives
RDIAS believes in holistic development of its faculty members. Initiatives were taken not only to develop teachers as excellent researchers, but to also take care of their physical and mental well-being. The following activities were conducted to achieve the same:
DRC MeetingsRegular meetings with experts are organized to facilitate the faculty members in their research journeys. The experts include Prof. Sanjeev Mittal – Professor, USMS, GGSIPU, Dr. H.K. Dangi – University of Delhi, Dr. A.K. Mohapatra - Associate Professor, IGDTUW & Chief Technology Officer, Delhi Police and Prof. O.P. Verma - Principal of GB Pant Govt. Engineering College.

Towards Holistic Development - International Yoga DayRDIAS celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June, 2018 at the Institute premises to promote holistic development of its faculty members. The teachers participated with full enthusiasm and learnt about the benefits of yoga.
One week Faculty Development Programme on “Advanced Research Methodology”RDIAS organized a One week Faculty Development Programme from 4-10 June, 2018 on Research Methodology. The key resource person for the FDP was Prof. Neeraj Kaushik from NIT, Kurukshetra who enlightened the faculty members on the various aspects of research techniques with special emphasis on structural equation modeling using AMOS. Sessions on Basics of Research, Introduction and LR writing and effective googling, Cluster Analysis and Rergression Analysis were conducted by Ms. Bhajneet Kaur – Assistant Professor, Dr. Anshu Lochab – Dean Academics, Ms. Akansha Upadhyaya – Assistant Professor and Mr. Miklesh Prasad Yadav – Area Chair Finance respectively.
