Stefan STANEV, 2017Botany for everyone

Paisii Hilednarski Univ. Press, Plovdiv 164 pp., paperback. ISBN: 978-619-202-213-6

The author presents little known and intriguing facts about the

vascular plant diversity in Bulgaria – about the scientific and

vernacular names, record-maker plants in the Bulgarian nature,

interesting adaptations in the biology of the species, endemics and

relics, parasitic plants, most popular medicinal plants, exotic and

ornamental plants, plants in the Bulgarian folk poetry, beliefs and

proverbs, etc. The book reads very well and will be of interest to any

naturalist or anyone curious about the wonderful world of plants.
