Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) is a biocide, the use of which is prohibited in the E U. On May 15, 2012, the Regulation of the European Commission obliging member states to ensure that products containing DMF have not been placed on the market.

Dibutyl phthalate is used mainly in plastic production as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, but also as a plasticizer in the manufacture of sealants, adhesives, and printing inks, used in rubber processing

Azo dyes - due to their properties, are widely used in industry, among other things for dyeing leather, fabrics. Some azo dyes may release (by chemical reduction or by enzymes action) aromatic amines, which in many cases have carcinogenic effect in the human body.

Conclusion

Hazardous aromatic amines and dimethyl fumarate phthalate compounds have not been present in the tested leathers.

The next step

It is necessary to check and test consumer products and raw materials used for their production for the presence of hazardous chemicals.
