Instructions for Importing Sample Mid-Term Surveys Using Canvas Commons

The Office of Teaching and Learning curated sample mid-term surveys that you can use within Canvas to receive feedback from your students. All of these sample surveys are worth zero points and are set up so that student respondents are anonymous.You can use Canvas Commons to preview the survey questions then import a survey into your course. Once imported, you will be able to edit the survey settings and questions. Once students have taken the survey, you can view the survey results within Canvas.

Step 1: From your course’s homepage, select “import from commons.”

Step 2: Search for “Mid-term Feedback Survey Sample” for three sample surveys you can choose from, or “JKSIS” for the course feedback survey created by the Korbel School. Then click on the title of the item you want to import.

Step 3: The Preview tab allows you to view the survey questions. To import, click Import/Download.

Step 4: Check the box next to the course into which you would like to import the content. (If you have many, use the search field.)

Step 5: Click the import into course button. The content should appear in your Canvas Course after a few minutes.
