Instructions for manipulating dual desktops on a Macintosh Powerbook etc. Classic Mac OS Plug in the monitor cable before starting up the computer. If the projector display is not as expected, go through the following steps:

1. Select Apple menu > Control Panels > Monitors 2. Each monitor (the powerbook LCD and projector) should now be displaying a control panel,

as follows:

3. Click the Monitor button in each control panel, and set the resolution of each to 1024 x 768. 4. Click the Arrange button in the relevant control panel (only one of them will have this

button) to produce a display as in the left hand side picture above. 5. Click and drag either of the two screen icons on top of the other, to produce a final display as

follows:

6. The screens should now be displaying identical pictures, at 1024 x 768 resolution.

Mac OS X 1. Select System Preferences > Displays. 2. Each monitor (the powerbook LCD and projector) should now be displaying a control panel,

as follows:

3. Click the Display tab on each, and ensure that they are both set to 1024 x 768 resolution. 4. Click the Arrangement tab in the relevant control panel (only one of them will have this

button) to produce a display as in the left hand side picture above. 5. Click the Mirror Displays checkbox. 6. The control panel should now contain a view as follows:

7. The screens should now be displaying identical pictures, at 1024 x 768 resolution.
