1. To start your group, go to Meetup.com and click on “Start a Group.”

3. Picking topics for your group is important! This is how meetup.com users will be notified of your new meetup group. For best results, select topics such as “Investor’s Business Daily” and “investing.”

4. Next, you need to pay to get your Meetup group going. Through IBD sponsorship, you will be reimbursed $12.25 each month (instructions for receiving these sponsorship funds to come). This means that if you select the 6 month plan, you will be fully reimbursed by the end of the six months.

5. Schedule your first meeting! If you haven’t secured a meeting location yet, you can opt to select that later.

6. Once you’ve finished creating your Meetup group, Meetup.com will send an email to all meetup users who have specified that they are interested in the topics you listed for the group. Then it’s up to you to communicate with new members and encourage them to attend the first meeting! Please complete steps 7-9 BEFORE meetup.com announces your Meetup!

7. Send an email to [email protected] with the URL to your new group. We will notify Meetup.com that you are a new IBD Meetup Group and that we want to sponsor you!

8. Within 24 hours, Meetup.com will email you an invitation for sponsorship. To accept sponsorship, click the “say yes here!” button at the bottom of the email.

9. When you have successfully accepted sponsorship, the IBD logo will appear at the top right of your group’s homepage. This indicates that you are an OFFCIALLY SPONSORED IBD Meetup Group!

10. As a benefit of sponsorship, you are eligible to receive $12.25 in monthly sponsorship funds, distributed through an Amazon Business Payment Account. You must have an Amazon Business Payment Account in order to receive the funds. Toset this up, login to Meetup.com and click “account” at the top right:

12. Click the red button in the middle to set up your Amazon Payment Account:

13. If you have an existing Amazon account, sign in with your user name and password. If you do not, enter your email address and select “I am a new user.”

14. Complete the requested fields for setting up your Amazon Payment Account:

15. You may need some help completing the requested fields. Use the information below to guide you:

Type of Ownership - Unless you have registered your business with the government and have a tax payer ID, we recommend you select "Individual."

Business Category - Select whatever category you'd list your Meetup Group under. Got a book group? Try "Books." Got a Hiking Group? Try "Sports & Recreation."

Sales Venue - For this we recommend that you list your Meetup Group URL (sample: http://newtech.meetup.com/1/)

Date Established - What's the approximate date you started your Meetup Group? List that.Estimated Transaction Volume Per Month - This means, "how many times a month do you

think your members will pay you using Amazon Payments?". Doesn't need to be exact. This is for Amazon to know, so they can get an idea of how much traffic they'll get. If you're not sure what it will be, just select the smallest amount.

Average Transaction Amount - This means, "what do you think will be the average amount you'll charge each time you charge?" Again, this can be a guess. This is just for Amazon's market research information. If you're not sure what it will be, just select the smallest amount.

Customer Service e-mail address - This is really important - especially in the case of any future disputes. Make sure you provide a real email address that you check frequently.

16. In setting up your Amazon Payment Account, you will be asked to verify your email address and your bank account information. If you do not feel comfortable doing this, you ARE NOT OBLIGATED to set up the account. However, without the account, you will not receive the monthly sponsorship funds. For more information about the Amazon Payment Account or to find out about Amazon’s online security, please go to https://payments.amazon.com/sdui/sdui/about?faq.

17. Once you have successfully set up your Amazon account, the “payments received”screen in your Meetup.com account will indicate that you have already set up an Amazon Payment Account. You will receive monthly statements from both Meetup.com and Amazon.com when the funds have been distributed.
