Instructions for this Registration Application Thank you for your application to the AWSSR! In order to properly record your horse in the registry, you will need to the provide information and any supplemental documents requested herein. Any application insufficiently filled in will be rejected until proper documentation can be provided. To ensure your application and pending or full registration can be processed expediently, here are the items you should be prepared to supply, if applicable:
A. This COMPLETED application, saved as a filled-in PDF file, and attached and uploaded, orprinted out and mailed to the AWSSR.
B. Copies of any previous registrations with other associations.C. Previous DNA case number/UELN number/microchip numberD. A copy of the horse’s breeding/covering certificate.E. Photographs of your horse (preferably the standard four-shot conformation pictures, see
below)
F. Copies of any qualifying performance documents (see next page).G. Payment of fees (see next page)
The preferred method of application is through our online portal at http://awssr.org/service-request-form. Fill out and save this form as a PDF, then upload to the online application portal. Payment is due at the time of application. All payments are non-refundable. If you would like to pay via credit card, you MUST use the online portal with PayPal. If you prefer to send a check, you may print this document and send it through the mail. However, please make sure that any hand-written or hand-drawn elements are legible—there is a $50 correction fee for any mistakes (not due to AWSSR clerical error).

Performance Requirements
The American Warmblood Society & Sporthorse Registry offers many choices to satisfy the performance requirement for full registration. You may submit one of these scoresheets/show record (see below), submit a video inspection, or sign up on-site inspection in your area.
Qualifying Performance Venues
Any one of the following is considered a qualifying performance: ※ Sporthorse/In-Hand (any age) in OPEN recognized USDF/USEF, Hunter Breeding, or AWSSRclasses only – Must achieve a minimum overall score of 62% or higher※ Dressage – (USDF Recognized show) minimum Training Level Test 1 OR Materiale – Mustachieve a minimum overall score of 62% or higher※ Eventing – (USEA Recognized event) USEA Young Horse OR minimum of Novice Level –Maximum of 55 penalties, without elimination, retirement, or withdrawal※ Combined Driving – (ADS Recognized event) minimum preliminary level – Maximum of 55penalties, without elimination, retirement, or withdrawal※ Hunter – Minimum of Baby Green 2’6” – Place 1st to 5th in any class※ Show Jumping – (USEF Recognized show) – Place 1st to 5th in any class※ Recognized Sport Horse Inspection (on-site or video) – Must achieve a minimum overall scoreof 62% or higher※ Breeding waiver – (Mare) Minimum of three (3) or (Stallion) minimum of five (5) offspring withperformance-qualified registration with AWSSR
*A “Pending” Certificate of Registration will be sent if you cannot satisfy any one of the abovequalifiers at the time of registration. The horse has its lifetime to satisfy one of the aboveperformance requirements. The “Pending” Certificate of Registration proves all registration fees havebeen paid and contains the horse’s pedigree, owner information and states the performancerequirements still required.

Since 2014, the AWSSR has required DNA profiles for all registered/recorded horses because of the crisis in identifying horses here in the US. DNA is not only important for parent verification and performance tracking, but will also help prove ownership and the identity of the horse. Beginning 2017, USEF and USHJA have required microchipping, with other organizations looking to follow suit. We strongly encourage both DNA and microchipping as ways to enhance breeding and ensure safety in ownership and identification. For this reason, both services are complimentary as a part of your new application. Both kits come with easy to follow instructions. If you have already done a DNA profile or microchipping, please provide the information requested below.
