Main areas include: Content=== what is it that is going to be taught outcomes,goals definition how --- how is it going to be taught how do we know that it has been taught or learned evaluation, has the learner grasped the intended outcomes.How do we know? 3. +Define the Outcome or Objectives What is it that is going to be taught? This can be a flowchart, a series of bullet points, a specificperformance task. Criteria must be defined and measurable. 4. +How to make a peanut butter andjam sandwich Scenario: you have been asked to create a curriculum for anaudience on how to make a sandwichPeanutbutterbreadjam 5. +Roles of the Instructional Designteam Content expert the person who knows how to make a sandwich is usually called the Subject Matter Expert.Consult with the subject matter expert to define the goal: in this case it is a peanut butter and jam sandwich Technical writer- person writing the content Storyboard artist writing the plan for making the content Illustrator Someone who creates illustrations of the process Instructional Designer- someone who oversees the creation of the learning chunks and write an executivesummary of the process, a needs analysis and does the evaluation. The instructional designer may also decide thetimeline necessary, the budget constraints, and audience considerations. Videographer- someone who makes a video of the process Graphic User Interface designer someone who designs the interface and navigation of the learning should it befor distance education or computerized learning Educational Psychologist someone who examines the needs of the learner or the customer and defines theiraptitude or level of knowledge Audience --- someone who eats the sandwich or learns the content on how to make a sandwich 6. +What does the content look like? Options may include voice overs, illustrations, videos,storyboards and or charts and graphs. Many instructionaldesigners are not good artists. They may know how to create alearning chunk but they will need you to help design theinterface.Therefore it is up to you as Graphics Communications Artiststo be able to communicate well with the specific people on theteam to see what is needed to develop the curriculum 7. +The ADDIE MODEL
