INSULECT SK-03 ELECTRIC INSULATION COATING INSULECT SK-03 – High Voltage Electric Insulation Coating One Pack coating system designed for High Voltage Insulation applications.. DESCRIPTION INSULECT SK-03 is a single component electric insulation coating designed to impart high electric strength for various electrical applications. When properly applied and dried, a tough film is formed over the surface. INSULECT SK-03 is highly hydrophobic in nature and is having excellent water repellant properties. INSULECT SK-03 film helps to reduce the leakage currents, resulting into reduction in contamination flashovers. INSULECT SK-03 coating offers excellent U.V. radiation resistance coupled with tracking resistance which makes its use beneficial for outdoor exposure and in extreme weather conditions. Once coated with INSULECT SK-03, the applied part does not require any maintenance like water washing or greasing. INSULECT SK-03 is based on Grafted Copolymer System and is available in all desired colour shades

APPLICATION PROCEDURE- BUSBARS

1 Clean the surface to make it free from dust, rust, oil, grease and any other foreign deposits with suitable cleaning procedures.

2 Put masking tape on the areas where coating is not required.

3 Apply first coat of INSULECT SK-03 with conventional spray or brush technique uniformly over the entire surface.

4 Allow it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes.

5 Apply next coat uniformly over the entire surface.

6 Repeat the procedure for next coats to achieve desired insulation

level.

7 Place Butter paper between the coated bus bars during storage.

8 Send coated bus bars for tinning after 24 hrs. of application. Expected Performance - 5 KV at 80 microns (DFT) Recommended Tools For Spray Technique - HVLP Gun (High Volume Low Pressure) For Brush Technique - Soft , Art Type , Animal Hair Brush Note • For removal of applied coat of INSULECT, use specific thinner supplied by

the company. • Test the performance only after 48 hrs of application.
