Inte-LX®, the intelligent computer commandcontrol system monitors hydraulic output, pressures, and regulates engine perfor-mance for the maximum balance betweenspeed, power and fuel efficiency neededto handle the job.

Auto Power-UpThe LX series can quickly respond tochanges in operating conditions, automatically supplying a power increase, without operator interaction and regardlessof the work mode. Hydraulic pressuresensors detect resistance and pressure isincreased by 9% for 8 seconds. AutoPower-Up stays on 100% of the time inthe “L” mode.

Anti-Theft DeviceYour Link-Belt distributor can set up yourInte-LX® control system to include apassword protection feature that requiresthe password to start and run the machine.

One-Touch and Auto Idle ControlWhen user-preset time has elapsed afterleaving the control handles in the neutralposition, auto-idling automatically drops theengine to idle speed (1,000 rpm). Or, youcan choose to use the one-touch idlingswitch, located at the top of the rightcontroller so that you are always in control.

Inte-LX®

Operating ModesThe LX series enables the operator to havea choice on how the machine is operated.Simply choose the work mode that matchesthe machines output to the job application.Five operating modes are available.

A: Auto-ModeThe most revolutionary approach tomaximizing power & fuel efficiencyavailable today. Just select the Auto-Modewith the switch panel. Using actual workingpressure readings, Inte-LX® instantlychanges modes assuring the bestcombination of speed and power while youcan stay focused on the work at hand.

H: Heavy ModeFor heavy excavation or whenever youneed extra power.

S: Standard ModeFor standard digging and loadingoperations reducing fuel consumption.

L: Lift ModeFor lifting and other operations that needfingertip accuracy.

Allied AttachmentWork ModeAutomatically adjusts engine speed andpump output to match additional attach-ments such as hammers. The engine rpm’sare presettable to match the hydraulicrequirements.

On-Board DiagnosticsAn on-board diagnostic system allowsservice personnel to quickly analyze up to148 items in four categories;

•Machine Status:The diagnostic systemprovides a detailed view of pumppressure, engine rpm, water temperature, oil temperature, fuel temperature, throttlesetting and ongoing operating functionssuch as auto power-up and auto-mode.

•Troubleshooting:Service personnel cantrace electrical faults such as sensorfailures and harness damage.

•History:An on-going record of machinefaults is stored in the computer includingthe hour meter reading at time of the faultto assist in the diagnostics procedure.

•Systems Configuration:Servicepersonnel can change machineoperating characteristics such as; timedelay for auto-idle, language selection, and engine rpm preset for alliedattachment mode.

On-Board DiagnosticsAn on-board diagnostic system allowsservice personnel to quickly analyze up to148 items in four categories;

• Machine Status: The diagnostic systemprovides a detailed view of pumppressure, engine rpm, water temperature, oil temperature, fuel temperature, throttlesetting and ongoing operating functionssuch as auto power-up and auto-mode.

• Troubleshooting: Service personnel cantrace electrical faults such as sensorfailures and harness damage.

• History: An on-going record of machinefaults is stored in the computer includingthe hour meter reading at time of the faultto assist in the diagnostics procedure.

This chart shows the LX machine with the Nephron® filter vs. most other excavators. As you can seehydraulic fluid changes are reduced from every 2,000 hours to every 5,000 hours. Also, 22 filterchanges on a typical excavator is reduced to 7 filter changes. All of this results in lower labor, downtime, and maintenance costs.

Inte-LX® On-Board DiagnosticsInte-LX® monitors, stores, and displaysinformation about the electrical andhydraulic systems such as; the currentmachine conditions, diagnostic warnings, history, and machine default settings.Information stored in Intel-LX® can also bedownloaded to your personal computerusing standard connectors.

Dependable Isuzu PowerAir FiltrationLX Series engines are equipped with a dualelement air filter with an evacuator cup, arestriction indicator and ground lineserviceability for ease of maintenance.

Cooling PackageThis engine runs exceptionally cool becauseof the large radiator and oil coolercapacity. The high-efficiency cooling fanreduces air noise for quieter operation aswell.

Larger MufflerThe LX series features a larger muffler whichabsorbs more sound and makes this thequietest Link-Belt yet.

Emergency Engine ShutdownIn emergency situations, the engine can beshut down with the push of a switch locatedon the control panel in the cab. This switchmust be re-engaged prior to restarting theengine.

Engine Product SupportIsuzu North America offers 24-hour accessto their full line of engine parts through 2regional distribution centers, 27 MasterDistributors and 690 Authorized ServiceDealers.

Maintaining engine revolution at a fixed rateregardless of the load prevents the energy lossthat occurs when shifting cycle times toaccommodate higher or lower loads.

Advantages of EEC

Tier II CompliantLX engines have already met 2004 EPAstandards requirements.

Idle StartAt start-up, the engine defaults to idleregardless of throttle position. This preventsover revving a cold engine, helping toextend its service life.

Low Idle UpWhen low temperatures or other conditionsreduce engine rpm to a point thatalternator output won’t keep the batterycharged, Inte-LX® automatically increasesthe idle speed from 1000 to 1100 rpmkeeping the batteries fully charged.

Auto Engine Warm-UpIf the engine temperature is low followingstart-up, the auto warm-up system willoperate automatically and continue withengine speed increasing gradually untilnormal engine operating temperaturesare reached.

First In ClassThe 130 LX is the first excavator in it’s classto utilize an electronic engine controlfunction. By optimizing the level of fuelinjection to match the load, this responsivenew system assures more efficient use offuel, plus by keeping the engine closer tothe target engine speed, less lugging takesplace so cycle times are faster, exhaustnoise, vibration, and smoke are reducedmaking the environment in the cab andaround the machine cleaner and quieter.

Electronic Engine Control (EEC)Inte-LX® maintains engine rpm’s when loaddemands change. Engines equipped withmechanical governors spike rpm’s up-and-down when operating loads increase anddecrease. This phenomena causes enginesto consume extra fuel and be louder.

Low Fuel ConsumptionThe electronic governor responds tochanges in operating loads quicker thana mechanical governor. As a result, EECregulates the amount of fuel injectionaccurately and quickly.

Lower, Cleaner EmissionsLow fuel consumption results in high ignitionefficiency (cleaner emission) and lowemissions.

Low Sound LevelsAt high idle, EEC can control enginespeed rpm at rated horsepower. Thismeans the engine doesn’t overrun, resulting in lower sound levels.

Low VibrationEEC causes engine rpm to be stable, resulting in low vibration.

Powerful Breakout ForcesDeep and wide box sections of highyield steel and deep groove welding holdup to high breakout forces, strong liftingcapacities and the stresses of alliedattachments such as hammers, thumbs, compactors, shears, grapplesand crushers.

Strength and DurabilityLX heavy duty booms and arms haveinternal baffles which provide betterstrength and durability to withstandtorsional loads.

LC UndercarriageLong undercarriages incorporate heavyduty excavator style components andimprove both stability and groundbearing pressure. The modified X stylecarbody is integrally welded for maximumstrength and durability. High torquecompact final drives keep you going upsteep grades and through deep mud.

Bearing Tub

Built into the “X” style carbody is theturntable bearing “tub” which extendsdown through the top plate and is weldedto the bottom of the carbody as well as thetop for increased strength and durability.

Upper and Attachments

Undercarriage

Improved Pin and Bushing LifeChrome plated boom foot and boom toarm pins mounted in grease impregnatedbrass bushings make a durable and long

lasting connection at the two highest stresspoints on the attachment. This also makes itpossible to extend the lubrication intervalon this type of pin to once every 6 monthsor 1,000 hours of operation, whichevercomes first.

A.The surface of the bushing is stratifiedwith a solid lubricant in hard brass toprotect the parts from abrasion.

B.The pin’s surface is plate-processedto increase hardness and protect fromabrasion

C.The original dust seal is double-structured to keep out dust and dirtand protect from subsequent abrasion.

Two Arm Choices and a wide varietyof buckets provide the reach and breakoutforces for optimum productivity.

Two-Speed Travel MotorOffers smooth shifting and the needed pullwhen going up grades and making turns.

Strut Type Chain LinksThere are no weak links in our chain. Strutsreduce twisting and hold up to severe pointloading when all of the machine weight istransferred through one roller.

Track RollersFilled with synthetic oil to reduce heatbuild up and for long term reliability.

Track AdjustmentAdjustments are made easy with standardgrease cylinder track adjusters and shockabsorbing springs.

Side FramesIncorporate a peaked saddle shapeand large cut-outs on top for reduceddirt build-up.

hydraulic fluid changes are reduced from every 2,000 hours to every 5,000 hours.

A. The surface of the bushing is stratifiedwith a solid lubricant in hard brass toprotect the parts from abrasion.

B. The pin’s surface is plate-processedto increase hardness and protect fromabrasion

C. The original dust seal is double-structured to keep out dust and dirtand protect from subsequent abrasion.

Large, Low Noise Cab DesignA wide cab design provides expandedleg and elbow room. Six silicon filledisolation mounts float the entire cababove the noise and vibration of analready quiet machine greatly reducingoperator fatigue. Large entry door andaccess width makes entering and exitingthe cab a breeze.

Control PanelMany machine function switches areconcentrated in a panel in clear viewand easy reach of the operator.

Tilting Console and Sliding SeatThe seat slides independently of the controlconsoles to assure optimal joystick positionsat all times. The joystickscan be tiltedto any of threesettings, allowing theoperator towork in themost comfortable position. The entireplatform can then be moved forward orbackward for best foot pedal positioning.

Panoramic VisibilityThis cab provides more window spacethan ever. Even the sunroof is large. TheOperator’s “office with a view” has rearand side windows made of LEXAN®

MARGUARD™. Standard vandal coversprotect the safety glass front windowsand stow on top when you’re working.

Informative LCD MonitorLarge size LCD Monitor displays graphi-cally a wide range of operating informationsuch as; engine temperature, hydraulic oil temperature, fuel level, travelspeed, work mode and engineidle. Additional messages includesystem/machine warnings and servicedue messages in your choice of Englishand 13 other languages. Backlit illumina-tion ensures displays are alwaysreadable – day and night.

Operator’s Control Station

All Weather VisibilityWith built-in washer and intermittentspeed control, the wiper keeps yourwindshield clear, whatever the conditionoutside. The “rise-up” design takes thewiper arm and blade out of the line ofsight when its not in use, plus lifts the bladefrom the cab surface so that it doesn’tfreeze to the cab in icy weather.

Fresh Air Induction-TypeClimate ControlLX provides exceptional heating/coolingcapabilities with a climate control systemthat automatically regulates the temperaturefor the operator’s comfort. Now with 6vents, LX Series excavators provide excep-tional air circulation for optimum operatorcomfort. Front-side air outlet and defrosterensure a comfortable operating environ-ment while theopen/closetype rear win-dow furtherimproves theventilation.

Best Seat at the SiteThe KAB 515 seat adjusts to your sizeand comfort. The semi-bucket seat providesfirm support and comfort with armrests, adjustable seat suspension, adjustablelumbar support, and durable urethanecushions.

TripmeterIn addition to the hour meter, LX has addeda Tripmeter. Every job or application canbe measured.

AM/FM Stereo RadioStandard equipment.

Emergency Escape WindowAllows operator to escape from the rearwindow in case of emergency.

On-Board DiagnosticsAn on-board diagnostic system allowsservice personnel to quickly analyze up to148 items in four categories;
