Thermal Oil Heaters

INTEC delivers complete thermal oil heatingsystems. The main components are produ-ced in our manufacturing plant INTEC Rohr-technik GmbH providing the highest qualitylevels possible.

FUELS

The INTEC thermal oil heaters in horizontalor vertical design are offered for an outputrange of 100 to 20,000kW. Higher outputvalues are achieved by combining severalsystems.

The fuels used are conventional fuels suchas natural gas, light fuel oil and heavy fueloil. For special applications it is possible toburn gaseous or liquid production wastes.

Compared to conventional plants using hotwater or steam, thermal oil as heat transfermedium offers the advantage that it can benearly heated without any pressure untilreaching a temperature of 320°C. With syn-thetic oils, even temperatures up to 400°Ccan be reached. For this reason, in mostindustrial heating processes, where hightemperatures are used, thermal oil heatingsystems have finally achieved predominan-ce.

In order to achive high safety standards,INTEC thermal oil systems comply with theregulations of the German Industrial NormDIN 4754.

EFFICIENCY

In order to reduce the operating costs to aminimum level, we recommend measuresfor energy recovery that further increasethe efficiency of our thermal oil heatingplants.

We are offering you the following systems:

Use of waste heat stored in the flue gas for heating warm or hot water

Generation of saturated steam

Direct utilization of flue gases for heating of dryers

Preheating of combustion air

The thermal oil heaters and the requiredburners are tailored to suit the require-ments of their respective applications.

Special heaters for combustion of dust-sha-ped fuels are completing the heater pro-gramme.

DESIGN

Building combustion chambers with largedimensions for the INTEC heaters, monito-ring the flow of very single parallel flow lineand using components cooled by heat trans-fer oil, which means that hardly any refrac-tory material is used, – all these factorsensure that the heat transfer medium isgently heated and thus can be used for along time.

Raising prices for fossil fuels and increasingdemand for CO2-neutral, regenerative fuelsrequire proven solutions using new techno-logy. Consequently INTEC has developedand continuously improved systems forenvironmentally friendly combustion of solidfuels, such as wood, wood waste, bark, san-derdust as well as other biomasses.

ENERGY SYSTEMS

As a complete solution for the wood-workingand for the fibreboard industry INTEC offershot gas generators with capacities up to90MW. Depending on the individual opera-tion requirements the necessary processheat is transferred by hot gas, thermal oil,steam or hot water to the consumers.

Matched to different requirements and fuelsdiverse firing systems are offered by INTEC:

Underfeed firing system with loweroutput up to approx. 3 MW for coarse wood waste with a humidity range of 10-100% odb

Inclined grate firing system VRCSwith an output up to approx. 50MW and a humidity of approx. 200% odb

Travelling grate firing system for fuel with high calorific value, as e. g. brown coal or anthracite

Cyclone firing systems for dust from sieving and sanding

Combined burners for sanding dust andother fuels, such as natural gas or oil.

POWER GENERATION

INTEC step grates, with capaciting up to45 MW, are employed in the food industryfor the generation of electrical power, usingrice husk and rice straw as fuel.

DESIGN

Due to their robust design, our step gratesensure high operational reliability and highavailability. Of course, our plants ensurecompliance with the emission regulationsconcerning CO and NOx. We achieve thisthrough the special design of the combus-tion chambers taking into consideration therequired dwell times and avoiding streaksin the waste gas.

Waste Heat Boilers

In order to recover the contained heat in thewaste gas coming from solid fuel firingsystems, combustions engines, gas turbinesor other industrial processes, it is indispen-sable to possess detailed knowledge aboutthe properties of the respective waste gasflows.

INTEC offers you tailor-made solutions for awide variety of applications:

One-pass boiler for the recovery of radiant heat from waste gases originating from solid fuel firing systems covering the temperature range from 1,250°C to 800°C

Three-pass heater in vertical designcovering the output range from 500 to 12,000kW for the heat recovery from the combustion of natural wood

Convection heat exchanger in meanderdesign covering the output range from 500 to 20,000kW with equipment for automatic cleaning of ash deposit from the tube bundles

Waste heat boiler consisting of coils in concentric design used for the recoveryof waste gas heat from combustion engines and gas turbines in onshore and ship applications

Thermal Exhaust Air Decontamination Units

Thermal exhaust air decontamination plantsare preferably used to clean exhaust airflows charged with organic materials. Inthese plants, the harmful substances in theexhaust air oxidize to become CO2 and H2O.

As the oxidation process of the harmful sub-stances takes place at a combustion cham-ber temperature of about 750°C, specialattention must be paid to the recovery ofenergy.

INTEC delivers thermal exhaust air cleaningplants for the oxidation of solvents in theexhaust air flows – in the range of 100-50,000 Nm3/h – from surface coating anddrying processes. The product range ofINTEC also includes plants to deodorize thesmell of odorous substances or oily exhaustair flows coming from production plants ofthe food industry, e. g. frying plants.

For heat recovery, heat exchangers are usedto preheat the exhaust air, to produce satu-rated steam or to heat water or thermal oil.

Secondary

Control Circuits

In many industrial processes, the heatingand cooling process requires exactly control-led temperatures. To ensure this, secondarycontrol circuits are installed. With the inte-gration of a cooler into the system, thesecondary control circuits are able to carryout both heating and cooling processes.

INTEC secondary control circuits are delive-red as completely preassembled systems.INTEC supplies these circuits worldwide forheating presses, impregnation plants, coa-ting plants in the wood, textile and paperindustries. Combined heating and coolingsystems are particularly applied in the pla-stics industry.
