Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier does not impair surface traction quality or bonding ability. Areas treated only need to be closed whilst treating and may be reopened immediately afterward when touch dry (approx 1 hr, depending on site conditions). Note: New concrete: Ensure concrete is structurally sound and has developed sufficient strength prior to the application of any toppings, coatings, cementitious underlay’s, floor coverings, paints and adhesives etc, as per manufacturers recommendations. If surface coatings or floor coverings are planned, wait minimum 24hrs (subject to site conditions / drying times) after the application of Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier. Once dry, mechanically abrade (20 grit course sanding, or carborundum stone grind etc) the surface to remove any purged salts, contaminants etc. Test Rh with insulated hood method of test, and pH as per relevant standards and ormanufacturers specification.Surface can then be prepared to coating manufacturer’sspecification. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier addresses the reasons for potential early coating failures such as excessive moisture vapour transmission, saponification, laitance, poor surface adhesion etc. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier can be applied to old or new concrete, inside or out without detrimentally affecting the surface quality. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier increases abrasion resistance, as well as acid / chemical damage resistance. As Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier penetrates deeply into the concrete, it reacts with interior ingredients such as free alkali or unused calcium hydroxide residue and prolifically converts Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier’s usually low solids colloidal liquid into a 100% solids insoluble precipitant. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier instantly provides added density and becomes an integral part of the concrete by occupying the concrete’s accessible porosity and capillary voids. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier does not affect the concrete surface porosity which enables the bonding of paints, cementitious underlay’s, coatings, adhesives, floor coverings etc, eliminating the need for any special non porous primers. This uniquely induced penetrative moisture suppressant barrier does not generate any heat during its conversion from liquids to solids, nor expansion pressures at any time. This integrally generated barrier remains resilient and consists of molecules that are much smaller than concrete’s micro pores. This further diminishes concrete’s void percentages, while increasing the impermeability, yet still allowing the concrete to retain its ability to breathe, expand and contract as it needs to. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier significantly decreases the potential vapour gas transmission rate. Because the integrally generated barrier has extremely small dense molecules, it alleviates or eliminates transmission of gasses such as Radon, forcing gasses to escape via avenues of less resistance, rather than through the concrete. 1. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier canbe used to improve or enhance anyconcrete whether traffic bearing ornot. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifieris excellent for use on concrete structures such as sub floors, streets, highway pavement,bridges, parking garage decks, airport pavements, dam walls, concrete pavers, tilt panels, sidewalks, driveways, basements, tunnels etc. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier will stop leakage in concrete while it is occurring in installations such as water storage reservoirs, water treatment tanks, below grade concrete with or without hydrostatic pressure. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier liquid travels against the water flowwhen applied to the negative side, permanently arresting the flow of water, a unique feat that is much less complex and labor intensive than trowel on remedies.

This in turn generates increased volumes of cement paste or hydration product in a much shorter time. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier utilizes all of the remaining capillary water leaving none to later evaporate and create void spaces. As a result, the concrete’s capillary void spaces become more segmented and smaller than usual. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier provides concrete a superior cure imparting extraordinary strength, hardness, impermeability and subsequent maximum durability.The ProtecreteVaporlock Densifier Cure method provides concrete with a permanent subsurface barrier,specially formulated to restrict MVT. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier molecules are smaller than concrete’s micro pores, providing even further diminished permeability. Because the integrally generated barrier has extremely small dense molecules, it restricts or eliminates transmission of gassessuch as Radon, forcing gasses to escape via avenues of less resistance, rather than through the concrete.

Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier restricts MVT to cure concrete in one application.

Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier cures concrete by restricting Moisture Vapor transmission (MVT) and is an excellent alternative concrete curing method, providing a cure equal to or better than water curing. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier provides the usual benefits of a curing agent, plus provides special ingredients to the yet available capillary mix water waiting to participate in the hydration reaction process in the plastic or semi plastic concrete, reciprocating acceleration of hydration’s reaction rates.

Permanently integrally waterproofs concrete.

Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier contacting glass should be flushed with water and not allowed to dry, since it could etch. Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier will dull the shine on shiny aluminium but does not affect the integrity. Do not apply Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier on frozen substrates, or when temperature is near freezing.

4. Some Advantages:

Unlike traditional surface film forming membrane cure’s, Protecrete Vaporlock Densifier Cure method does does not affect the concretes surface porosity, and as such, enables the bonding of paints, cementitious underlay’s, coatings, adhesives, floorcoverings etc, eliminating the need for any mechanical removal of surface filmmembrane and or any special non porous primersprior to the application of coatings etc.

6. Installation:Note: In hot climates, mist-wet the surface with water and remove any puddles prior to application.

b. Wear appropriate PPE such as mask, glasses, gloves and protective clothing to protect from any surface dust particles that may be disturbed and become airborne due to sweeping and or spraying.

c. Old / hardened concrete:Use medium to high pressure airless sprayer complete with a 24 inch wand and a .019 fan tip spray jet.

d. Freshly placed concrete:Follow normal application instructions, except use a medium pressure airless spray unit to avoid disturbing the surface. For broom finished concrete that has not been allowed to harden. You may also use a non atomizing spray apparatus such as a pump tank sprayer. Apply to newly placed surface as soon as is practical following surface finish (trowel or broom etc).

e. Hold spray tip 150mm or 6 inches from surface.

f. Apply to the point of saturation at the rate of 4.5m2 per litre with an overlapping spray pattern of approximately 10% to 15%.

g. Areas of high porosity have a faster penetration rate.

h. These areas appear drywithin approx 10 mins after spraying and will require additional product. Any product that has not been absorbed “dropped in” into the concrete after approximately 30 mins should be dispersed or broomed to the “drier areas” in order to be absorbed. Do not allow puddles or ponds to dry or they will set hard.

i. Begin applying at the lowest level elevation. For example, walls and slopes should be applied side to side, from the bottom up.

k. For very oily / greasy surfaces, clean with detergent and high pressure hot water prior to application.

n. Special note for concrete block: Block quality, cement content and porosity size can vary widely. Some may never be completely waterproofed and will only be damp proofed. Spray twice.

7. Installation as a Cure, and hardener:

a. Follow normal application instructions, except use a medium pressure airless sprayer unit to avoid disturbing the surface of the freshly placed concrete. For broom finished concrete that has not been allowed to harden, you may also use a non atomising spray apparatus such as a pump tank sprayer.

b. Apply to the newly placed surface as soon as is practical following surface finishing.
