Shore line Change - Observations (32 years)
General :
All along the coast of Goa, from north to south, there is large
variation in depositional and erosional processes.
Specific:
ESTUARIES:
The present study reveals that all along the estuarine
systems, there is net deposition.
COASTS:
Deposition is specifically observed at : Morjim, Baga,
Campal, Miramar, Mobor.
Erosion is specifically observed at : Kerim, Anjuna, Velsao

Disaster Prone Zones
I. Severe Disaster Zones:
Coastal regions with Low relief : agricultural crops, coastal
plains, sandy shores, mangroves, marshy swampy / water
logged areas.
II. Moderate Disaster Zones:
Coastal regions with medium relief : Coastal ridges, riverine
fronts, stable sand dunes.
III. Mild Disaster Zones:
Coastal regions with high relief: cliffs & rocky shores and
promontories with / without forts.
These norms have been used for categorizing the coastal regions as severe, moderate and mild.
