On The Map
On the Map
A tree is on the map,
And I know why.
It shows me where to find a forest
Under a bright blue sky.
A plane is on the map.
And I know why.
It shows me where to find an airpor t
Where plans take of f and fly.
A bui lding is on the map.
Can you see it too?
It shows me where to find a place
Where kids can go to school!

POETRY
Making Maps
I love to make maps!
I think it ’s great fun - - -
Making the boundaries
And then one by one
Putting in rai lroads.
And each river bend,
And the t iny towns
Where l i tt le roads end.
I draw in the mountains,
And of ten a lake,
And I’ve even had
Long bridges to make!
I l ike to do highways.
And when they are drawn
I dream that they take me
Where I ’ve never gone.
