Agenda
• Integration basics– Definition and advantages
• GRIP-IT – Past experience– Setup– Aim of the Project Partners and the Subprojects
• Component 3 GRIP-IT– Role, aims and tools of Component 3 detailed– Agenda of Component 3 – a framework of
cooperation
Integration I.:What is integrated planning – and what is not?
Strategic development methodWonderdrug
Setting priorities and adhering to themUshering in the land of milk and honey
A means of receiving funding for focused development

Integration III.: Where can we apply integration?
Stage 1:
Programming
Stage 2:
Project preparation
Stage 3:
Project selection
Stage 4:
Contracting
Stage 5:
Implementation
Stage 6:
Monitoring
• All 6 stages of a program lifecycle can profit from integration
• What we are trying to find out is how to make the most of it
• Great proactive experiment with results possibly significant on EU-level as well
GRIP-IT I:What can GRIP-IT build upon?
Basilicata Region• 40% of ROP into IP• 18 years of integration
Friuli-Venezia-Giulia Region• Objective 5b and 2• LEADER and LEADER+• Border and transnational exp
Hradec Králové Region• LEADER+• 2007-13 NDP
West Pannon Region• LEADER+• 2007-13 NDP• Proactive actions
GRIP-IT II:How GRIP-IT works
C3: Methodology – The Head• Accumulator• Consolidator• Generator
C4: Dissemination – The Mouth• Communicator• Publisher• Advertiser
C1: Management – The Heart• Initiator• Motivator, • Coordinator
C2: Subprojects – Arms and Legs• Actor• Feeler• Mover
GRIP-IT III.: What are we doing?
• Subproject partners– „To boldly go where no man has gone before“ (Star Trek)– Forward the subprojects‘ respective causes by experimenting
with a new level of local and international integration– Do exercises in the enactment of the Lead Partner Principle– Provide feedback on the proceedings, field results and risks of
integration
• GRIP-IT Project Partners– Form a theoretical framework for project integration– Encourage, fund and help subprojects to gather as much
experience as possible– Come up with something that can be used in the future by
EU programmers and project owners alike
Component3 I.:What is C3 aiming at?
• Aims– Develop innovative IP planning and management methodology
and strategy– Increase efficiency of SF-usage in 2007-13– Establishment of a permanent project planning network
• Tools– Acquire a comprehensive set of benchmark practices and approaches
through experience pooling– Analyse and evaluate existing local systems and practices– Provide consolidated and enhanced methodology through creative
workshops• Results
– Robust set of guidelines for IP horizontal issues.– Several operable model procedures – call scenarios– Working transnational planning network
Component3 II.:What are the main tools?
• Working together with as many parties as possible to pool experiences and practices– Channelling from partner regions through partners– Local „field lab“
• Consolidating all info to provide a robust basis for analysis
• Networking to generate the best possible results• Providing continuous feedback to enhance performance
– experience exchange, cooperation• Formulating concise and operable methodology with the
most comprehensive and versatile set of guidelines
Component3 III.:The 5 Steps A framework of cooperation
• Steps 3-4: Important role of subprojects, continuous two-way feedback– What programmed and or management conditions
would help or hinder the realisation of future integrated projects
– What works, and what does not - solutions– What results are to be rationally anticipated from
integration
Step 1:
Experience evaluation
Step 2:
Procedure typology
Step 3:
Recommendations for Partners
Step 4:
EU-level guidelines
Step 5:
Verification
