• Sensory response– Nerves-tell pain, temp., pressure, etc.
![Page 8: Integumentary System= mostly Skin- Why do you need this?? Section 21-4 Pg.591-594](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022071807/56649e2f5503460f94b2002c/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
• Formation of Vit. D– Is produced when skin is exposed to light– Helps absorb calcium from body
![Page 9: Integumentary System= mostly Skin- Why do you need this?? Section 21-4 Pg.591-594](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022071807/56649e2f5503460f94b2002c/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)

• Regulation of Body Temp.– Blood vessels within skin can hold or release heat– Hair can help keep heat in-getting the
Goosebumps– Have 3 million sweat glands-help in releasing heat-
through perspiration-cooling the body

![Page 12: Integumentary System= mostly Skin- Why do you need this?? Section 21-4 Pg.591-594](https://reader035.vdocument.in/reader035/viewer/2022071807/56649e2f5503460f94b2002c/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Damage to the skin• When epidermis is damaged- have no cells to
