The Global Mechanism of the UNCCD submitted a comprehensive proposal on the Integrated Financial Strategy for the implementation of the UNCCD to the 10th session of the Conference of the Parties held in Chagwon, Korea
The Conference of the Parties of the UNCCD has given to the Secretariat and the Global Mechanism the mandate to move forward with resource mobilization to achieve the objectives requested by the Forum of Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean
The Regional Integrated Financial Strategy and its operational plan will be implemented in the biennium 2014-2015

Technical assistance through a series of activities and projects related to chemicals and wastes and the implementation of related MEAs,
UNEP and other organisations have implemented different projects in many countries through resource mobilisation from different sources such as GEF and SAICM.

To disseminate the scope of the Minamata Convention on Mercury for countries of LAC, a report was developed in 2013 that describes the main dispositions of the Convention in the context of data and regional information, including some case studies and actions that are carried out by countries.
In the framework of the Global Mercury Partnership, technical assistance was provided. Project on the storage and elimination of mercury was held in Mexico and Panama.
Small Island Developing States
Green Economy: The initial project was held in Barbados with the preparation of a scoping study. UNEP, in collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat with the financial support of the European Union, has been supporting the region through the Green Economy Initiative in the Caribbean
Third International Meeting SIDS: UNEP formed an inter divisional group to supervise the preparation of a draft communication strategy.
