INTERIM REPORT Q3 2016
STRONG LICENSE GROWTH IN A SEASONALLY SLOW QUARTER
ALASTAIR SORBIE, CEO & PAUL SMITH, CFOOctober 20, 2016
A strong quarter for IFS in which all revenues, profit, and cash flow improved. Despite there being economic challenges in all our geographies and in all our target sectors we have managed to grow our license sales by 27 percent, currency adjusted. This indicates that we are able to continue to win business against our giant competitors by virtue of our strong industry solutions for our target sectors and our strong references. Not only is there good growth in new customer revenue but also through existing customers extending their investment in IFS with additional users and new components.
Our partner ecosystem continues to develop strongly and there is also ongoing improvement in both our maintenance and support margin and consulting margin. We continue to seek further growth through acquisitions as we look to broaden our geographical coverage and to deepen our product functionality.
The ERP market remains strong. Industry analysts such as Gartner expect it to grow by 6 percent in 2016 and to accelerate slightly to 7 percent in 2017.
IFS continues to support an outlook that expects growth in both product revenue and EBIT.

PRODUCT REVENUE
CONSULTING REVENUE
● As a trend, product revenue is set to grow faster than consulting revenue.
● Larger proportion of services being delivered from the partner ecosystem.
● Over time, customers will increasingly contract with partners, resulting in a slow down in
the growth of IFS delivered services revenue.
PARTNER PROGRAM—INCREASING MOMENTUM
● Offer customer choice and greater global reach for international projects.
● Create go-to-market alliances and thereby increase market penetration.
● New partners signed and deepened co-operation with existing ones such as Accenture.
● Offer greater business scalability and better manage peaks in demand.

MARKET OUTLOOK—THE ANALYSTS’ VIEW
Despite experiencing some headwind, the ERP market’s
performance remains solid. Industry analysts such as Gartner
have revised their estimates slightly downwards, with somewhat
lower expectations for the Western European market, in
particular the United Kingdom following the Brexit referendum.
The ERP market’s development is expected to grow by 6 percent
in 2016 and to accelerate a little to 7 percent in 2017.

MARKET UPDATETHIRD QUARTER
INVEST IN A STRATEGY TO:
● Deliver global projects on time and on budget with a lower TCO.
● Focus on specific sectors that see sustained long-term investment.
● Work close with customers, to share ideas and have an ‘open’ customer-centric R&D
organization.
● Have an ‘open’ technology that seeks to enable customers to benefit from new
innovations and not aim to achieve ‘lock-in.’
● Grow the business organically and profitably, using the cash generated to undertake
complimentary M&A.
