Graduated as chemistry technician in 1989 and in Veterinary Medicine in 1995; in 1996 attended a 6 months internship in cytopathology at the Department of Pathology - University of Milan (Prof. Mario Caniatti, DVM, DECVP). From 1997 to 2005 attended a weekly training program on clinical pathology at the Department of Pathology - University of Milan (Prof. Mario Caniatti, DVM, DECVP; Prof. Saverio Paltrinieri, DVM, DECVCP; Dr. Stefano Comazzi, DVM, DECVCP). Defacto Diplomate European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology in 2005. Federico Fracassi, PhD DVM

Federico Fracassi graduated in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) “cum laude” State University of Bologna. At the same Faculty he followed an internship and in 2005. he defended his PhD thesis. After the PhD he become Assistant Professor (2006-now) at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences - University of Bologna. In 2005 he started an Alternative Residency in Internal Medicine at the Clinic for Small Animal Internal Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland and passed the General Examination in 2009. Duties include patient care, education (to students, post graduate training and training of interns) and research in internal medicine of companion animals, with special emphasis on endocrinology. He is the president of the Italian Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SIMIV) and board member of the European Society of Veterinary Endocrinology (ESVE). Contact: E-mail: [email protected]
