All Plazmaman inlet manifolds and products are precision tig welded by experts in house at their Sydney Facility. Through Plazmaman's ability of manufacturing in house, they are able to guarantee these inlet manifolds with a life time workmanship warranty. These are rated to 100psi at any RPM level you choose. Plazmaman inlet manifolds utilise some of the most advanced manufacturing techniques. Their multi axis HAAS CNC machines ensure that all the one piece billet bases have tolerances to within .005. The inlet manifold dome utilises a hard temper 3mm sheet alloy surface that has been made to shape in house utilising advanced forming techniques.
The manifolds are available in a range of finishes, including Raw, Polished or Powder Coated your choice of colour.

SBT+1: SPEED - BOOST (x2) - TEMPThe Road Rage SBT+1 consists of a Gauge with SBT Plus 1 Software loaded and an SBT Scaler Pod with 2 x 100 psi boost sensors with integrated harness. Includes a K-type Thermocouple. The SBT+1 is configured to display four outputs, with your choice of:

DIESEL WARRIOR KIT: BOOST - TRANS - TEMPThe Diesel Warrior helps you monitor your turbo boost, exhaust temp, and transmission temp to make sure you know when to back off the throttle. The audible and visual warnings help you protect your investment while towing. The gauge displays and datalogs trans temp, Boost, and Exhaust Temp. This kit comes with a 36 psi sensor, other kits are available with 75 psi sensors.

What is a Blow Off Valve?A Blow Off Valve, also called a Compressor Bypass Valve, Recirculation Bypass Valve or Diverter Bypass Valve is a vacuum-style boost pressure release. A typical Blow Off Valve is typically constructed from an inlet port, outlet port, piston, spring and vacuum connection. A Blow Off Valve acts to release pressure from the intake system when the throttle is closed, for example when shifting gears. When a Blow Off Valve is not installed and the throttle is closed pressurised gas becomes stuck between the spinning turbine and the throttle plate. From here it applies opposite pressure to the compressor blade and slows the rotation of the compressor. This phenomenon is cal led 'surging ' or 'g rav itat ion'. I t p laces a burden on the Turbocharger bear ing and compressor wheel blade, causing large amounts of damage over time.
How does a Blow Off Valve work?A Blow Off Valve is installed in the intercooler pipe located between the Turbocharger compressor and the throttle unit (throttle body-side intercooler also fine).The vacuum pipe is connected to the upper chamber of the Blow Off Valve. It is typically closed from the intake port with a spring. When the throttle is open the Blow Off Valve remains closed. When the throttle is closed, a burden is applied inside the intake manihold, pushing against the spring on the inside of the chamber. The piston then opens to match the pressure inside the intercooler pipe, resleasing excess pressure into the intake system.

Types of Blow Off ValveBlow Off Valves can be divided into two main groups, atmosphere release type (or VTA) and recirculation type (suction return). The difference between the two lies in how the excess pressure is released. In a atmosphere emission release Blow Off Valves the emissions are released into the atmosphere, causing the popular 'pssh' sound. In recirculation or suction return style Blow Off Valves the pressure is returned to the Turbocharger inlet intake system. Compared to the atmosphere release type, there is little sound making it recommended for vehicles that need to comply with noise and emissions regulations. It is also recommended for off road and rally vehicles and
others with airtight blow off valve systems as it provides reliable protection from dirt, mud, sand and the like. is dependable The Turbosmart dual port connects these two types. The Turbosmart BW Compact Series Valve is specially designed to suit the Borgwarner EFR and KKK Turbo.
In factory products the diaphram is not reinforced, often resulting in cracks. The new BW Compact Valve uses a Piston O RIng and Aluminium Billet construction to give support up to 30PSI boost pressure.
There are both return type and dual port model valves.

What is a Wastegate?A wastegate is a valve which controls the flow of exhaust gas from an engine to the turbocharger. By controlling the flow of exhaust gas to the turbine of the turbocharger, the wastegate can control the boost pressure provided by the turbocharger to the engine. The wastegate needs to be correctly sized in order to give the user adequate control over boost pressure.
There are two types of wastegates: external wastegates, and actuator driven built-in wastegates.
●External WastegatesAn external wastegate connects the wastegate and actuator from the turbocharger to the exhaust manihold. An external wastegate is a separate self-contained mechanism requiring a specially constructed turbo manifold . The size of the wastegate valve required will depend on the capacity of the turbine housing.
As with a built- in wastegate, an external wastegate has a sealed chamber attached to the actuator with a valve and spring. Controlling the pressure difference in the diaphragm allows the user to regulate the exhaust gas that flows to the turbine, thereby controlling the boost pressure.
●When is an external wastegate necessary?The most common reasons for investing in an external wastegate are following the installation of an after-market turbo, or to have better control of the boost and consequently the power output of your engine. Additionally, most large frame turbochargers are not equipped with internal wastegate systems.
Most tuners will recommend an external wastegate for any engine producing 400hp or more, as running high boost through a factory built- in wastegate can overpower the actuator spring, limiting maximum boost level. Aftermarket external wastegates feature bigger inlet and outlet ports, higher pressure springs and bigger actuator diaphragms to effectively control high boost pressure.

Wastegate MythsWith the number of different opinions and theories out there it can be confusing to select the right wastegate for your needs. He re we wou ld l i ke to c la r i f y some o f t he myste r ies a round wastegates and g ive c la r i t y to some common misunderstandings.
1. Greater engine power requires a larger wastegate.
This is perhaps the most common misunderstanding. In fact, the only engine part which increases boost pressure and horse power as it gets smaller is a wastegate.

2. A Wastegate won't funtion at high temperatures.
False. Contrary to the popular belief, external wastegates are usually mounted at the hottest part of the exhaust. This is where all the exhaust gases meet, creating extra heat. This, combined with the late combustion of unburnt fuel (due mixing fuels, retarded timing and high octane fuels) significantly raises the exhaust temperature.
3. Larger wastegate valve diameter = better flow
True – in part. While the valve diameter is an important part of the flow rate, another important yet misunderstood element is the flow path. When comparing wastegates with similar valve size, it is important to balance the body, valve and spring so that they work together for maximum boost control. All Turbosmart wastegates are designed with this in mind.
Wastegate InstallationThe mounting position of your wastegate will be largely determined by your turbo and manifold setup and may be constrained by space restrictions in your engine bay.
When instal l ing the wastegate be sure to note the following points:
1. The weld flanges should be welded to your exhaust system. The weld flanges are compatible with stainless
steel and mild steel welding rod material.
2. Use the included V Band clamp to fix the welded flange to the wastegate. Do not forget to put the valve
seat into the body before mount ing the unit on the
exhaust manifold. Tighten the supplied ¼” screws to a
torque value of 14 Nm (10 ft/lbs)
3. For maximium ef fect , i f space allows install the wastegate in the exhaust flow. The best flow is obtained
by installing it at a 90 degree angle. See the diagram
below for an example of installation.

How much boost can you gain?The boost pressure created by the turbocharger is determined by the amount of exhaust flow, the spring rate and the exhaust back pressure. The amount of wastegate exhaust flow is an important element, influencing the amount of exhaust gas that acts to increase the rotation speed and/or escapes without reaching the turbine. When the wastegate does not release enough exhaust gas, the turbine speed increases and produces more boost pressure than is necessary.
The spring rate determines the amount of boost pressure required to open the valve and discharge exhaust gas. The stronger the spring, the greater the amount of pressure required to open the valve. The spring rate is also connected to the amount of exhaust gas released by the wastegate. If the wastegate itself cannot release enough ehaust gas the boost pressure will continue to rise regardless of the spring rate.
The exhaust back pressure is also connected to the amount of boost created. When the valve surface encounters exhaust pressure it also exerts pressure on the wastegate valve. When the pressure on the diaphragm hitting the spring is greater than the pressure on the surface of the valve the wastegate valve will open. At the same boost pressure, if the amount of exhaust back pressure is high before the valve begins to open then the compressor pressure will decline. A high exhaust back pressure will mean it will not be possible to reach the target boost pressure.
What makes a good external wastegate?●Heat Handling CapabilitiesAn external wastegate is mounted directly on the exhaust manihold and must therefore have superior resistance to heat. At times, exhaust temperature can exceed 800℃, so if the wastegate is damaged there will be excess pressure in the actuator chamber, the spring will not have enough pressure to open the valve and it will not be possible to regulate the boost. For stable boost control it is essential to choose a product that can sustain high temperatures, that is correctly set-up and which is the right size. Turbosmart external wastegates are made from high quality materials which can withstand high stresses and temperatures for prolonged periods of time.
●Diaphragm StrengthThe diaphragm seals the top chamber of the actuator so that the accumulated pressure can apply a force on the spring, thereby opening the wastegate valve. If the diaphragm cannot withstand the pressure applied or the heat from the environment it may rupture. This will result in a release of the pressure inside the chamber and no force generated to push the spring and open the wastegate valve. This may result in an uncontrollable increase in boost pressure. Turbosmart iexternal wastegates feature f luoro sil icone diaphragms with nomex reinforcement to withstand high working pressures and high temperatures.
●Good Spring Design and RangeIt is vital to choose the right spring to suit your wastegate. The correct spring rate will exert enought pressure to open the valve. There is a 96.4kPa difference between the level at which the valve begins to rise and the level at which it has fully risen. Controlling the pressure through the valve allows for a continuous rise in pressure, resulting in a slow increase in boost as the engine picks up speed.
If the spring rate is too low, the exhaust back pressure will have an even greater effect on the valve, causing it to open more than necessary and resulting in a drop in boost when the engine is at high rotation. Selecting the correct spring allows for a steady boost level regardless of the engine speed. The spring rate regulates the exhaust back pressure as the engine speed increases, while the pressure on the diaphragm helps sustain the boost pressure. Turbosmart external wastegates are made from high quality stainless steel to provide stable, long-lasting performance. The internal parts utilise the shot peening system to minimise warping. Use of the correct spring rate creates even greater boost control.
●Characteristics of fixed maximum pressureThe characteristics of the boost pressure created by an external wastegate are extremely important. In particular, the body must be of a big enough size to handle the maximum amount of exhaust gas. This does not mean that the user should choose the largest available size; in fact, it is better to choose the smallest appropriate size. Additionally, it is necessary to be able to control and steadily increase the amount of gas flowing through the body in order to raise the valve. If the route through the wastegate is not optimised the wastegate will release too much exhaust gas, the valve will open and the boost pressure will decline, resulting in a slow-down in turbine speed. Turbosmart external wastegates use CFD analytic software to create high-flow capacity and stable maximum boost pressure, outperforming the competitors on every level.
●Small size and gross weightIn the majority of modern engine housings most of the space is taken up with devices and systems, leaving little room for after-market parts. The wastegate must fit alongside heat-producing parts such as the turbine and manifold. The size is therefore very important.
The smaller the wastegate the easier it is to fit in a narrow space, and the easier it is to install other products alongside it. The wastegate must be welded to the exhaust manihold, therefore, the gross weight is also an important factor. Welding parts with a heavy gross weight to the exhaust manihold will exert continued pressure and result in damage to the manihold.
Turbosmart external wastegates are the smallest and lightest of all comparable products on the market.
●Ease of AdjustmentThe spring setting controls the boost pressure. For this purpose, the spring exchange becomes important when the spring is at its maximum pulling power. During racing, the ability to perform an immediate spring exchange is essential, often marking the difference between victory and defeat. Achieving maximum boost pressure requires that the user is able to access the wastegate spring easily and perform finetuning on the racetrack.
The Turbosmart external wastegate is equipped for a wide variety of springs. The 38, 40 and 45mm wastegates support a 20-179.1kPa spring and the actuator uses a colour locking system for swift and reliable spring exchange. The 50 and 60mm wastegates support a 20-227.4kPa spring.
●External Wastegate SizeThere are many factors to consider when choosing a wastegate size. The most common mistake is to assume that the greater the engine horsepower the larger the westgate. To assist you, here are some factors which determine the appropriate wastegate size:
• Engine type
• Target engine horse power
• Target setting boost pressure
• Engine size
• Maximum engine speed
• Turbocharger size
• Turbine housing A/R
• Remodeled engine condition
• Advanced engine construction
For example, in a 2L, 4 cylinder drag race engine targeting 800 horsepower, a large turbocharger with a large capacity boost and flow is required. However, the amount of exhaust discharged from a 2L engine is not so great. Additionally, exhaust gas is needed in order to power the turbine speed. In this instance, it is not necessary to release a large amount of exhaust gas so a small sized wastegate is appropriate.
In the case of the same turbine with the same target horsepower in a 6L, V8 engine it is not necessary to create as much boost pressure from the turbocharger so a large sized wastegate is appropriate. When the boost pressure from the turbocharger is low in a large engine it is not necessary to discharge so much exhaust gas. In this instance, in order to maintain a set level of boost pressure the wastegate must release the greater amount of exhaust gas.
A remodeled engine will have an effect on the workings of a turbocharger. Exchanging the CAM shift, head polishing, enhancing and increasing the maximum number of rotations will change the supercharger properties of the engine and simultaneously change the displacement.

What is an FPR? A fuel pressure regulator maintains constant fuel pressure above the intake manifold pressure. The installat ion of per formance fuel injectors or a high-flow fuel pump requires the use of an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator to allow pressure adjustments while maintaining a stable base pressure. I tems to consider when select ing a Fuel Pressure Regulator●Target Output LevelThe decision about which FPR to purchase is decided upon the target output level as this determines which fuel, fuel pump and subsequently FPR will be needed. The higher the target output level the higher the necessary fuel injection capacity. To keep fuel pressure at a desired level the FPR must be large enough to enject enough fuel. All Turbosmart FPR are numbered with this in mind, for example, for 1200 horsepower select the FPR1200. ●Fuel TypeIt is essential to select an FPR that supports the fuel type used by the engine. For vehicles using standard gasoline an FPR800 is suitable. For race fuel or race cars using alcohol select a larger FPR such as an FPR1200, FPR2000 or FPR3000.

INTERNAL WASTEGATES
What is an internal wastegate?An internal wastegate has the wastegate valve is built into the turbine housing. The wastegate valve is controlled by an actuator which consists of a spring and a sealed chamber. The sealed chamber of the actuator is connected to a pressure only source normally on the compressor cover of the turbocharger.
What kind of internal wastegate will work?The internal wastegate actuator is connected to a pressurised part, meaning the pressure within the pressure side of the turbocharger compressor will be the same as the pressure inside the sealed chamber. As t he p r essu r e o f t he a i r b e ing c omp r esse d by t he turbocharger increases, so too the pressure within the sealed chamber of the actuator increases, exerting force on the spring. When the pressure is high enough to overcome the spring force, the wastegate valve begins to open, diverting exhaust gas around the turbine and allowing it to maintain its speed.
If the pressure drops, the spring pushes the valve shut and allows the turbine to build up speed. If the pressure increases, then the valve will open further, bypassing more exhaust gas to try to maintain the desired pressure.
What makes a good internal wasstegate?●Heat handling capabilitiesThe internal wastegate is mounted in close proximity to the turbocharger where there is often poor air circulation. The actuator must be made of the correct materials to ensure that it functions in all conditions. Turbosmart internal wastegate actuators are constructed using high quality materials to withstand high stresses and temperatures for prolonged periods of time.
●Diaphragm StrengthThe diaphragm acts to seal the top chamber of the actuator so that pressure can build up, exert force on the spring and open the wastegate valve. If the diaphragm cannot withstand the pressure applied or the heat from the environment, it can rupture. This will prohibit pressure from building up inside the chamber, and regardless of the compressor pressure there will be no force generated to push on the spring and open the wastegate valve resulting in an uncontrollable increase in boost pressure. Turbosmar t internal wastegate actuators feature f luoro silicone diaphragms with nomex reinforcement to withstand high working pressures and high temperatures.
●AdjustabilityAn internal wastegate must be tuned for the specific boost pressure that is needed. The cor rect spr ing needs to be chosen to achieve the desired boost pressureBased on target boost pressures and exhaust back pressure, . Having a spring combination that is close to the desired boost pressure will result in a reduction in turbocharger spool up time and better control of pressure at higher engine speeds.Turbosmart internal wastegate actuators feature a wide variety of springs between 3 – 26 PSI and also feature a collar locking system which allows for fast and reliable spring changes.
●Choosing the right springThe springs that are installed in either an internal or external wastegate should be rated to the lowest boost pressure desired. The lowest boost pressure level achieved cannot be lower than the spring rating as the spring only allows the valve to open at the pressure rating of the spring.
In general, with a boost controller installed the maximum boost level that can be achieved safely is double the spring rating. For a target boost pressure of 20 PSI, a minimum spring rating of 10 PSI is recommended to give the wastegate more control over the exhaust gas. If the spring rating is too low, as boost levels climb and exhaust flow rates increase, the flow of exhaust can influence the valve more as the only force trying to close it is the spring force.
If the spring is too soft, even with no pressure signal to the actuator, the valve will open if there is enough exhaust back pressure, which will limit the amount of boost produced by the turbocharger.
Use of an internal Turbosmart wastegate increases turbine response and boost control.

What are the advantages of installing a Turbosmart IWG?Compared to a Factory Actuator, the Turbosmart IWG75 uses a larger actuator to provide a greater boost curve and control, helping to prevent the effect of high back pressure on the rising boost curve. Moreover, the IWG75 can be matched with a wide variety of springs.
The IWG75 is constructed from materials which enable it to endure greater boost pressure and higher temperatures than a regular factory actuator.
How much will a Turbosmart IWG increase boost pressure? The IWG75 uses the same spring as the smalll westgate series allowing the user to control the standard boost pressure within the scope of 20-180kPa. It contains a spring that with a stronger rating than the competition to enable the wastegate to function even in a low RPM state, and to limit the reduction of boost when RPM is in a high state.
There is no other actuator on the market that combines the same spring strength and boost pressure capabilities.
Will a Turbosmart IWG work with a Diesel Turbo? The IWG75 is compatible with the majority of factory and aftermarket boost control systems.
Why does the boost exceed the spring rate after installing an IGW75? The majority of factory engines are built with inbuilt limitations. In the process of installing an aftermarket product it is possible that the turbo exhaust capabilities and the boost levels will increase.
When modifying an engine, installing a small turbocharger into a large engine will effect a large change to the boost pressure. Sometimes, when modifying a factory actuator valve and turbine it will be necessary to regulate the westgate flow volume and the the boost amount.
H ow do I i ns t a l l a Tu r bosmar t I n t e r na l Wast ega t e on t o my turbocharger? ●Specific Model TypeIncluded in the IWG75 kit is an exchange bracket or OEM bracket which should be directly bolted onto the IWG. Tighten the included M6 screws and spring washers onto the bracket.
When inserting the IWG75 wastegate valve arm with the IWG75 U-shaped tool, check that there is a 2mm playload. Then, using the compressor pressure (set the air pressure a little higher than the spring rate) use the IWG75 U-shaped tool to easily insert the wastegate valve arm and apply pressure.
When using the IWG75 tool to insert the wastegate valve arm, ensure there is a 2m playload. This will ensure the valve is properly attached aned responding well, and that the diaphragm does not wear out from rubbing against the actuator cap.
Don't forget to use the U-shaped tool to firmly reaffix the factory R-Clip or circlip to the wastegate valve arm. Then, use the same tool to affix the rod nut to the rod.
●Universal TypeIn a modified vehicle it is necessary to fix the existing bracket to the factory internal westgate actuator or to remake the bracket. The installation screw space is 34mm.
If the bracket is remade, use stanless steel to ensure it tolerates high temperatures and the spring resistance.
Installing the actuator is as important as the westgate valve arm. This will ensure that the angle doesn't change while in use, that there is no change in angle and that there are no disruptions to the functioning of the rod.
The multi-use IWG75 includes a 1/4"UNF thread rod designed to support the westgate valve rod and a wide variety of U-shaped tools.
How do I reach my target boost pressure with a Turbosmart internal wastegate? There are a number of factors involved in reaching a target boost pressure.
1. The size of the spring attached to the wastegate actuator. The power of the wastegate actuator spring is the only way to achieve boost pressure.
2. The diference between the desired level of boost pressure and the power of the spring.
3. Turbocharger and westgate size, and the amount of back pressure flowing through the exhaust manihold in a supercharged engine.
To reach your target boost ressure we recommend using this wastgate actuator with the Turbosmarte-Boost Controller.
How do I set the wastegate actuator pressure? Only use a strengthened spring when necessary. The wastegate actuator supports various types of spring pressure. For a full list of the springs compatible with this wastegate actuator please see the list on p.66.
In order for the tuner to achieve the standard boost pressure below it is possible to use up to 3 different types of spring. These are coloured differently to help distinguish them.
If the colour code is unclear please refer to the chart below to determine the type of a particular spring. This chart explains in detail how to set the spring pressure in a wastegate actuator. Match the spring rate with the lowest level of the target boost.
How do I exchange a spring in an internal wastegate actuator? To start, set the boost controller into normal boost and check the lowest number of the spring pressure setting on the spring to be exchanged.
Perform the exchange when the press or clamping device is removing or installing the curler. Loosening the cap reduces the load of the curler on the diaphragm and makes it possible to remove the curler.
1. Be sure to allow the car to cool sufficiently before removing the actuator from the bracket.
2. Use a press or other device to loosen the cap attached to the body and remove the curler.
3. At this stage, the spring is creating a load on the cap so slowly remove the tightening device from the actuator.
4. Use the rod to remove the cap, diaphram and spring support parts.
5. Exchange the spring and check the spring support parts are in correct alignment.
6. Reassemble in the reverse order. Set the diaphram at the centre of the spring support. When attaching the cap ensure the cap and diaphragm are centred and that the
placement of the cap aligns with the cutout in the housing. Maintain a playload of 2mm if
using a U-shaped tool.

The Platinum Sports 1000 combines an 8 channel injection and and ignition dash control. It supports the majority of current engines including multicoil and distributor ignitions (including 2 rotor engines). It is also compatible with CDI Systems by Haltech and other makers. It supports sequential fuel injection and direct injection up to 4 cylinders, or alternatively semi-sequential fuel injection and simultaneous injection up to 8 cylinders.
PLATINUM SPORT 1000The Platinum Sport 2000 combines 14 channel injection and ignition duty control capabilities. It supports the majority of recent engines including multi-coil and distributor ignitions (including 3 or 4 rotor engines). It is also compatible with CDI Systems by Haltech and other makers. It supports sequential fuel injection from 4, 6, 8, 10 and up to 12 cylinders, direct ignition up to 6 cylinders and simultaneous injection up to 10 cylinders.

Good management is all about communication. Engine management is no different. Haltech's IQ3 Dash combines Haltech devices with the CAN network for the best in communication. Do you have the need to connect many devices? Consider installing a Haltech CAN Hub. The Haltech CAN network allows for simple and effective expansion in ECU capability and functionality without having to go to the trouble of wiring in a whole new computer.Expansion is made possible by the addition of multiple expansion devices that communicate to the main ECU via a Control Area Network (CAN).Installation time and costs are kept to a minimum as all expansion devices are powered up from the main ECU via the pre-terminated connection cable that comeswith each expansion device.Each expansion device is pre-programmed with a unique ID code which allows it tobe recognised on the network and work correctly first time every time.

The Haltech IQ3 data logger dash represents an entirely new concept in data logging dashes. By placing the 32 channel data logger, 2GB memory card, GPS and 3 axis G meter inside the dash, every feature of the data system is now located in one central location. Combine 32 external channels of data with quick 2 wire CAN connection to a Haltech ECU and you have a virtually limitless amount of data available for collection and analysis. The Haltech IQ3 data logger dash is designed to be a complete data centre. All data is stored in a 2GB MicroSD memory card located in the front of the dash between the programmable shift lights. A Flex Fuel Sensor is a device that measures the ethanol content in the car’s fuel system. The sensor is installed between the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel tank where it monitors the ethanol content of the fuel returning to the tank.This information is passed onto the Haltech ECU which applies fuel, ignition and boost corrections to maximise power for the ethanol content available.The Haltech Flex Fuel Sensor allows the driver to add any mixture of ethanol/petrol (from 0-100% ethanol content) without the need to swap tunes or use a laptop.
The FLEX Fuel Sensor can be used in all Haltech Platinum Sports and Platinum Pro ECUs.
