International & Indigenous Languages Program (Elementary) The International & Indigenous Languages Program offers children an opportunity to learn and/or maintain a language other than English or French and to develop an appreciation for diversity and intercultural understanding. These academic classes are available, regardless of their heritage, free of charge*, to elementary school-age children (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8), who are Ontario residents primarily from the Ottawa-Carleton area. Most classes run on Saturday mornings for 2.5 hours for 33 weeks from September to June. (Unless otherwise indicated, class times are 9:30am-12pm). IMPORTANT: Grades and Ages (2019-2020) Only students born between 2006 and 2015 are eligible for the International & Indigenous Languages Elementary Program. Placement in an International & Indigenous Language class is age appropriate, therefore, if the student is in Grade 1 at the day school, the student will be in Grade 1 in the International & Indigenous Languages Program. On-site registration starts on September 7, 2019 *A non-refundable materials and consumable fee of $10.00 will accompany each registration. No classes are scheduled for holiday long weekends or school breaks. Out of Province students may register in the program with a Fee. Check with the Saturday Site Principal for the Fee Structure. • Continuous registration available at language site during class hours. NOTE: Please DO NOT call Day School Staff for Information.
