    8:15-9:00 AM TransportationShuttles will be provided to transport attendees to theComputer History

    Museum.Be in lobby at 8:15 to begin loading. Shuttles will leave at 8:30.

    9:00-9:30 AM Check-In & NetworkingAttendees will check in and have the opportunity to network with one another.

    IBMC Startup Conference

    9:30-10:20 AM Conference Welcome & Morning KeynoteAttendees will be oriented about the conference and have the opportunity tolisten to the conferences morning keynote speaker,Marguerite Gong Hancock,the Executive Director of the Computer History MuseumsExponential Center.

    10:30-11:20 AM Breakout Session 1Attendees will have the opportunity to choose between a number of concurrentbreakout sessions.

    11:30-12:20 AM Breakout Session 2Attendees will have the opportunity to choose between a number of concurrentbreakout sessions.

    12:30-1:30 PM LunchAttendees will eat lunch and have the opportunity to network with one another.

    1:30-2:20 PM Breakout Session 3Attendees will have the opportunity to choose between a number of concurrentbreakout sessions.

    2:40-3:10 PM Competition Welcome & OrientationAttendees will be oriented on the competition and on the rest of the day and

    3:20-6:20 PM Quarterfinal Mentoring Sessions & PreparationTeams will be assigned a space to work on their presentations. During thethree hour block, mentors will visit each team to provide valuable feedback ontheir presentation.

    6:30-8:00 PM Dinner & Evening KeynoteAttendees will eat dinner and hear from our evenings keynote speaker,Ash

    Maurya,author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book Running Leanandcreator of theLean Canvas.

    8:00-9:00 PM Post-Dinner Networking & TransportationGuests are invited to network before the shuttles arrive to transport guestsback to the hotel. Shuttles will leave at 8:30.

    8:30-9:00 AM Quarterfinal Round Judge OrientationQuarterfinal round judges receive orientation.

    9:15-11:45 AM Quarterfinal RoundTeams will be divided into 4 rooms and present for 10 minutes to a panel of

    judges with up to 3 minutes of Q&A. Teams are encouraged to watch thepresentations of the other teams in their room.

    12:00-1:00 PM Lunch & Quarterfinal ResultsAttendees will eat lunch and the results of the quarterfinal round will be

    announced.

    1:00-3:00 PM Semifinal Mentoring Sessions & PreparationMentors will be assigned to meet with the semifinalist teams to help themprepare for the semifinal round.

    3:00-4:30 PM Semifinal RoundTeams will be divided into 3 rooms and will present for 10 minutes to a panel of

    judges with up to 5 minutes of Q&A. Teams are encouraged to watch thepresentations of the other teams in their room.

    5:00-6:00 PM Dinner & Semifinal ResultsAttendees will eat dinner and the results of the semifinal round will beannounced.

    6:30-8:00 PM Final Event & Awards CeremonyThe finalists will compete for the title of Global Champion and the winner willtake home the IBMC traveling trophy as well as the top cash prize. Teams willpresent for 10 minutes to our all-star judging panel. The Q&A for this round willdepend on how many finalists are selected.

    8:00-9:00 PM Post-Finals Networking & TransportationAttendees will have a chance to network with one another after the final event isover. We will provide shuttles to transport guests back to the hotel. Shuttles willleave at 8:30 and 9:00.

    HOTEL

    We have reserved a block of discounted hotel rooms at theSanta Clara Marriott hotel under the nameInternational Business Model Competition. Please reserve your hotel room ASAP as the rooms anddiscounted rate are only available until 11:59pm EDT on Wednesday, April 26th.You can reserve yourroomsonlineor by calling the toll free Reservations Hotline at 1.800.228.9290 and asking for the block by name.It is important that you book your lodging at the Santa Clara Marriott for transportation purposes(see TRANSPORTATION section below). Staying at the hotel is also valuable for networking as youget the opportunity to interact with other teams who are competing.

    Based on the schedule of events, we recommend that you arrive the night of Wednesday, May 10th; however, ifyou would like to arrive earlier, rooms are available in the hotel block from Tuesday, May 9th (check-in) toSaturday, May 13th (check-out).Below are some additional important details regarding the hotel:

    1. Rooms All rooms in our reservation block have 2 queen-sized beds.2. WiFi - Basic internet is complimentary for our booking.

    3. Parking If you are renting a vehicle, the hotels on-site parking fee is $12 per day.

    TRANSPORTATION

    1.Airport to/from Hotel- The Santa Clara Marriott is 10 minutes from the Mineta San Jose International

    Airport (SJC). There are a variety of methods to get to and from the airport/hotel (e.g., rental vehicle, Uber/Lyft,or a local transportation service). Theairport website details ground transportation and identifies the terminal foreach type. We have negotiated a discounted rate with SuperShuttle, a local transportation service, which you can

    take advantage of onlinehere.The discount is up to 10% off on round trip bookings for all airports(SJC/SFO/OAK) on all service types except for the PO3 option (SFO service). Zip codes that are valid for thisdiscount are 95054 and 94043.

    2. Hotel to/from the Computer History Museum- We will be providing a free shuttle service in the morning

    and evening to/from the hotel and the Computer History Museum. This is why it is important for allattendees to reserve their lodging at the Santa Clara Marriott hotel.The shuttle will leave the hotel on Thursday morning at 8:00 am and 8:45 am and on Friday morning at 8:15 amand 9:00 am. The shuttle will depart from the museum on Thursday night at 8:45 pm and 9:15 pm and on Fridaynight at 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm. You will be assigned departure and return times which will be communicated at alater date.

    LOCAL AREA ATTRACTIONS

    We strongly encourage you to arrive early or stay late to visit other attractions in Silicon Valley. A good travelguide for these attractions can be found by checking out Steve BlanksA Visitors Guide to Silicon Valley.
