The College has a long tradition of imparting value based, holistic education focusing on academic competence, social skills and moral values. The UGC conferred autonomy to the college in 2016. The college was awarded with College for Potential for Excellence status in 2009 and was accredited with 'A+' grade in 2017 by NAAC. Recently the college was selected for financial assistance under component 8 of the RUSA scheme by MHRD and the Department of Biotechnology extended its support in the form of DBT-STAR college scheme.
