About the conference

The thematic network FERTINNOWA is approaching its end. This conference provides the

European horticulture sector with a unique forum where academia, growers and

associations, industry, policy makers and local authorities will have the opportunity to

learn, exchange experiences and identify growers’ needs for optimal irrigation and fertigation

management and to learn of FERTINNOWA’s results. More than 250 participants from all over

Europe are expected.

What is FERTINNOWA’s spirit? To encourage communication. There will be active participa-

tion of growers, companies, experts and policy makers. This is an opportunity to interact!!!!

We want to know more about other projects and initiatives with similar goals: about sustainabil-

ity, efficiency, conservation of water and nutrient sources. Submit your abstract or showcase

Submit your abstract

Your are invited to submit your abstract to participate in the FERTINNOWA’s conference by

presenting your experience and projects in the areas of water and nutrient management, wa-

ter quality, reducing environmental impact in fertigated horticulture. Registration fee 120€.

Exhibit your technology

Your are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to participate in FERTINNOWA’s

technology market. This will provide an excellent opportunity to showcase your innovative

technologies and equipment, and to present your services. Each exhibitor will have the

opportunity to make a presentation to attendees during the technology tours organised for the

event. Exhibitors fee 120€.

The conference will be held in the Exhibition and Conference Centre of Roquetas de Mar,

Almeria, Spain.

Almería is a region situated in Spain, which is nowadays mostly known by its numerous

greenhouses, also known as the plastic sea. You probably think this area was an agricultural

land in the past too, but the truth is, that about fifty years ago it provided a backdrop for

Hollywood western movies, because of its dusty, arid and even uninhabitable character.

There are flights from various European destinations to Almeria

and nearby airports (Malaga, Alicante).

For those flying to Malaga there is a bus connection with Almeria

Day Three – Field tours

5 October 2018

On the final day, participants will have the opportunity to participate of one of the guided field

tours in Almeria (registration fee 40€).

Tour 1

Attendees will have the opportunity to visit different greenhouse-grown crops and a desalinisa-

tion plant in the region of Almeria. A provisional programme can be found below.

Tour 2

On this tour the attendees will visit both greenhouse and open field grown crops as well as a

desalinisation plant. The provisional programme of the tour can be found below.

Abstract submission

Researchers and experts, working on innovation in fertigation, who wish to submit a scientific

contribution are invited to register online at http://www.fertinnowa.com/call-for-abstracts/ before

30 July 2018. Check our website for guidelines and the template.

Abstracts will be evaluated by the FERTINNOWA scientific committee. Because of time limita-

tions, the number of oral presentations will be limited. Selected oral presentation will be for 10

min. during the afternoon sessions. Other contributions will be displayed as posters in the main

hall throughout the event, and will be located next to the technology market.
