Design and Development of SMS Reception and Transmission

Unit for Generators Used at Base Stations

Himanshu Monga* Department of Electronics Communication Engineering, Rayat and Bahra University, Mohali, Punjab, India

Abstract

The phenomenal development of mobile service over the first two decades has insure that

almost every place on the civilize world is now covered with this service. This gigantic leap

in communication technology has resulted in many new applications of remote control and

monitoring through short message service (SMS). The generators used at the base station are

usually self starting type. Monitoring and controlling this generator, especially when the

tower placed at remote location is difficult. In this paper, it is proposed to monitor and

control through generator placed at the base station of a mobile phone service provider using

sms from remote location the generators has switches indicating the station of on/off position,

overload, overheating, fuel reverse. Also, it is proposed to monitor these switches through

sms from a GPS module connected to a microcontroller the switch data is read and

interpreted by the microcontroller and send to a remote operator/ supervisor through SMS.

INTRODUCTION

Getting SMS messages through a cellular

telephone or GSM/GPRS modem has a

noteworthy point of preference over the

other two ways – wireless carriers more

often than not don't charge any expenses

for accepting approaching SMS messages

with their SIM cards. The drawback of

accepting SMS messages along these lines

is that a cellular telephone or GSM/GPRS

modem cannot deal with a lot of SMS

movement. One approach to beat this is to

load adjust the SMS activity with a pool of

cell telephones or GSM/GPRS modems.

Every cell telephone or GSM/GPRS

modem will have its own SIM card and

cellular telephone number.[1-3]

WISCOM GSM Module

GSM is an open, digital cellular

technology used for transmitting mobile

voice and data services. Torleiv Maseng is

regarded as the father of the GSM

technology.[4-6]

According to a press

release by the GSM Association recently,

there are more than747.5 million

subscribers in more than 184 nations today

when of September 2002, representing

71.2% of the World's digital market and

69% of the World's wireless business

sector. The quantity of subscribers

worldwide is required to surpass one

billion before the end of 2003.[7]

The Name GSM first originates from a

gathering called Group Special Mobile

(GSM), which was framed in 1982 by the

European Conference of Post and

Telecommunications Administrations

(CEPT) to build up a pan European

cellular system that would supplant the

numerous current inconsistent cellular

systems as of now set up in Europe. Be

that as it may, when GSM administration

Femtocell – A Review

Ragini, Rekha, Aarti Malhotra, Yashpal Singh*

Scholar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ganga Institute of Technology and Management,

Kablana, Jhajjar, Haryana, India

Abstract

Femtocells, in spite of their name, pose a theoretically great disruption to the sensibly

intentional cellular networks that nowadays connect a common of the planet’s citizens to the

Internet and with respectively. Femtocells – which by the finish of 2010 by now outnumbered

outdated base stations and at the time of publication are being used at a speed of about five

million a year – together improve and delay with this network in ways that are not yet fit

implicit. Will femtocells be vital for offloading data and video from the squeaking old-style

network? Or will femtocells demonstrate more distress than they are value, depression

periods of cautious base station disposition with impulsive interference while delivering only

limited gains? Or perhaps neither: are femtocells just a “flash in the pan”; an exciting but

short-lived stage of network development that will be purified outdated by enhanced WiFi

offloading, new backhaul guidelines and/or pricing, or other unexpected scientific growths?

This lecture artifact indications the antiquity of femtocells, clarifies their significant features,

and delivers a showing of the next few years, which the authors have faith in will see a fast

hastening in the direction of small cell skill. In the way of the article, we also place and

present the articles that important this special issue.

INTRODUCTION

The previous few years have seen great

development in the arenas of wireless

networks and telecommunications. There

are above four billion mobile phone

customers in the world currently, and the

figures linger to increase. Though, cellular

phones last to face matters such as

deprived signal strength and call

superiority when used indoors. At the

equivalent time, here has also been an

enormous growth in Voice over IP (VoIP)

submissions. This skill consents users to

make free calls through the internet, thus

performing as a possible threat to mobile

operators about the world.

In directive to confirm customer loyalty

and gratification, with an opinion to

refining signal-strength in controlled areas,

mobile operators desirable to come up

with an well-organized solution.[1]

The

disposition of femtocells was one such

answer. Femtocells are minor base stations

connected in homes. They are alike in size

to a router and suggestion outstanding

signal treatment indoors, thus dipping the

load on the external macrocell.

In edict to benefit the topographies of a

femtocell, a user must have an internet

broadband connection. The user necessity

then, buying the femtocell from a mobile

operator and just plug it to the connection.

It is authoritative that a femtocell remnants

a modest plug-and-play device, as a

complex connection technique is probable

to avoid users from implementing it. When

Detection and Prevention of Selfish Node Attack in MANET

Puneet Garg*

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ganga Institute of Technology and Management, Kablana,

Jhajjar, Haryana, India

Abstract

Mobile ad hoc network is self-designing, autonomous, without any centralize node and

lacking of the fixed infrastructure network. Mobile nodes are depending on other nodes for

transmitting data. Mobile ad hoc network has expected that all nodes are cooperating with

each other. Anyhow, some nodes are not cooperating and saving their resources for own use,

these nodes are termed as a selfish node. Behaviour of selfishness performance of network

reduces. In this paper, define behaviour of selfish node, different techniques are used to

identify selfish node attack and prevention of a selfish node attack in MANET. With the help

of watchdog technique selfish node attack can detect and using proposed approach

prevention of a selfish node attack is possible and network performance improves.

INTRODUCTION In a Mobile Ad Hoc Network

[1] is

synchronization of mobile nodes which

have skillfulness to converse with each

other node consuming the wireless linking

which may be instantaneous with one hop

or secondarily over numerous hops.

MANET is self-managing grid of mobile

nodes. Mobile nodes are liberated to

change exclusive a network, the network is

a self-governing method. Mobile ad hoc

network absence of consolidated nodule

and structure less, in this mode nodes is

permitted to change universally in grid

arbitrarily and prescribed by themselves.

So, topology of setups may alteration

rapidly. Fluctuations of topology are

masses of and uneven in the network.

ROUTING PROTOCOL In a network, a routing protocol is an

arrangement of principles which establish

a route from starting node to ending node.

Nodes are free to move into network and

topology is often changed, that is the

reason nodes are not acquainted with the

topology of the network. Every node helps

to other node and finalise the route. Three

types of routing protocol in MANET.[2]

Selection of routing protocol is based on

network situation.

In proactive routing protocol[3]

with every

nodes keep routing table because of this

reason this routing protocol also termed as

a table driven routing protocols. Each

routing table contains information about

network topology even not needed. Nodes

are not fixed, network topology frequently

changed. The routing tables are

redesigning periodically and it is necessary

to find the shortest route in the network.

Due to this advantage this routing

protocols are more suitable for small

network, but it is not advice to use for

large network because as per this routing

protocol mechanism every node in

network is necessary to maintain routing

table for every other node and it is difficult

for large area. The proactive routing

Implementation of OFDM System Using 256 Point IFFT and FFT

Isha Tayal*, Pragati Verma, Rashmi Kiran Verma, Shiv Mani Tripathi

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, SRMCEM, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India

Abstract

OFDM is a special case of multicarrier transmission, where a single data stream is

transmitted over a number of lower rate subcarriers. The main reason to use OFDM is to

increase the robustness against the selective fading or narrowband interference. A large

number of closely spaced orthogonal sub-carrier signals are used to carry data on several

parallel data streams or channels. Each sub-carrier is modulated with a conventional

modulation scheme (such as quadrature amplitude modulation or phase-shift keying) at a low

symbol rate, maintaining total data rates similar to conventional single-carrier modulation

schemes in the same bandwidth.

Keywords: FFT, IFFT, OFDM, QAM, VHDL

INTRODUCTION

Orthogonal frequency division

multiplexing (OFDM) is a technique for

encoding computerized information on

different carrier frequencies. OFDM is a

frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)

plan utilized as a digital multi-carrier

modulation. An extensive number of

firmly dispersed orthogonal sub- carrier

signals are utilized to convey information

on a few parallel information streams or

channels. Every sub-carrier is balanced

with an ordinary regulation plan, (for

example, quadrature abundancy balance or

stage shift scratching) at a low image rate,

keeping up aggregate information rates

like customary single-carrier modulation

plans in the same data transmission.

The essential favorable position of OFDM

over single-transporter plans is its capacity

to adapt to extreme channel conditions (for

instance, attenuation of high frequencies in

a long copper wire, narrowband

interference and frequency-selective

fading) without complex equalization

filters. Channel equalization is improved

on the grounds that OFDM might be seen

as utilizing numerous gradually regulated

narrowband signals as opposed to one

quickly modulated wideband signal.

The low image rate makes the utilization

of a guard interval between images

moderate, making it conceivable to

dispense with symbol interference (ISI)

and use echoes and time-spreading (on

simple TV these are unmistakable as

ghosting and obscuring, separately) to

accomplish an assorted qualities pick up,

i.e. a signal-to-noise ratio change

This mechanism also facilitates the design

of single frequency networks (SFNs),

where several adjacent transmitters send

the same signal simultaneously at the same

frequency, as the signals from multiple

distant transmitters may be combined

constructively, rather than interfering as

would typically occur in a traditional

single-carrier system.

Bluetooth Module

Santosh Agrahari, Kalpana Sisodiya, Karan Gupta*, Rahul Singh

Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Poornima University Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

Abstract This paper deals with advanced notice board Wireless electronics noticed board using

Bluetooth module. Notice board is prime thing which is utilized in any organization or

institute or communal value places like bus stop, railway station or parks. But it will be

tedious process of sending various notices day to day. Electronics notice board is aimed at

developing a system that will display the message. The wireless electronics notice board can

also be called as campus display system (CDS).

Keywords: automation, bluetooth module, electronic notice board, LCD display,

microcontroller

INTRODUCTION

In this paper we aimed a technique for

automating the notice display procedure in

an effectual way in order to decrease the

time and effort needed in order to get the

noticed from any faculty member and then

to put in notice board. In our approach, we

divided the overall Smart Notice Board

System into four sub-modules and that are

Bluetooth module, LCD, power module

and Microcontroller. Also, a mobile phone

we are using in that an application we have

install for Bluetooth module.[1]

All these

sub-modules work collaboratively,

intelligently and in coordination to

automate the entire process of displaying

notices speedily, as and when required.[2]

Kiel software is used to program the

microcontroller and then interface it

accordingly with LCD and Bluetooth

module.[3]

BACKGROUND

Earlier time there was no concept of

wireless notice board. To transmit any

information the traditional method was pan

and paper. This traditional method

consumes time; require man power,

probability of errors were more.[4]

There

are many other methods by which notice

board can be made that are instead of

Bluetooth module we can use other

modules and they are DTMF, zigbee,

GSM.[5]

The version of DTMF that is used

in push-button telephones for tone dialing

is known as Touch-Tone.[6,7]

This is a

wireless notice board from which anyone

can send his message to the notice board

display.[8]

Now-a-days the general mass

prefers communicating while on the move

therefore landlines usage has been

drastically reduced.[9]

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The system required for this purpose is, a

Microcontroller 8051. The main

components of the kit include

Microcontroller, Bluetooth module, power

supply, LCD display. These components

are integrated with the display board and

thus incorporate the wireless features. The

Bluetooth module receives the SMS. In

Abstract

This paper is a brief introduction of 5th generation wireless communication technology i.e.

5G. It means the next major phase of mobile telecommunications standards beyond the

upcoming 4G standards. Currently, 5G is not a term officially used for any particular

specification or in any official document yet made public by telecommunication companies or

standardization bodies such as 3GPP, WiMAX Forum or ITU-R. New standard releases

beyond 4G are in progress by standardization bodies, but at this time are not considered as

new mobile generations since implementation and rollout of systems compliant with 4G is

still under way; the goals of a 5G-based telecommunications network would ideally answer

the challenges that a 4G model would present once it has entered widespread use.
