Do you want to spend an extra year studying journalism in an international context? Do you already have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of media and communication? If so, you’re eligible for the abridged bachelor’s programme in International Journalism.

In this one year programme you deepen your media and communication skills, focused on journalism. You will produce articles, long reads and short video stories on a regular basis and you’re welcome to take part in our live radio and TV shows. You will improve your editorial skills and learn more about in depth research and international reporting.

We are a member of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA), a network of journalism training institutions across Europe. This membership guarantees the quality of our journalism programme and offers the perfect channel to keep up with international trends in journalism and journalism education.

FOCUS ON PRACTICE

You’ll work with students of different nationalities in a newsroom environment. You’ll write articles and make video stories on international issues, but also on Belgian topics that are interesting for an international audience. All stories are published on the English section of our 21bis.be platform. You’ll also take part in projects for international journalism organisations. This will give you plenty of opportunities to develop your international network.

GO INTERNATIONAL

Your internship in the second semester will take place in an international environment. You can choose between interesting opportunities at international media companies in Brussels, or to go further afield and do your internship in other countries, not only in Europe, but also in North- or South-America, Asia or Africa.
