IMCI is a Notified Body to the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) in EU and

the market leader in CE certification;

1.079 boat manufacturers with 6.672 boat models;

629 manufacturers with 7.403 component and engine models;

Manufacturers from 55 countries.

Association of German Marinas (VDSH), Cologne;

German Boating Association (BWVS), Cologne;

German Automobile Club (ADAC), Munich;

International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI);

with funding by the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Labour

(BMWA), Berlin

Boat gas stations available either in the harbour or directly adjacent, (open overthe weekend, 2-stroke mix, regular, premium, diesel, gas tanks);

Crane, travel lift or slip cart up to 80% of the maximum load to be lifted have tobe on place in the harbour, mast crane or slip facilities available (with exceptionof tide harbours);

Yacht equipment supply in the harbour (open over the weekend);

Service staff available and shop for repair and service supply available over theweekend;



Service:

Repair and service supply: 7 of the repair and service supplies mentioned belowhave to be available in the harbour, the rest of them within a distance of 10 km:Motor service, electronics service, service for boat electrics, sail makers, boatconstructors incl. wood, metal and plastic processing, riggers, varnishes,cleaning service, locksmith’s shop, office services.




Credit/debit card acceptance to cover the harbour charges;

Food supply in the harbour (open over the weekend during season), breaddelivery;

Diner in the harbour (open over the weekend), offering on board catering;

Wireless Internet access at the mooring;

Following leisure facilities have to available in the harbour: Children’splayground, bike rental, beach, swimming site or pool;




Eight of the following leisure facilities have to be available in the harbour ordirectly adjacent: Children’s playground, facilities for adolescents and children,BBQ site, sunbathing area, beach, swimming site, pool, sauna, yachting school,surf school, charter, boat and bike rental, miniature golf, golf/tennis court (withina distance of 10 km), gym, weather station, TV lounge, Internet café.



Management, environment protection and disposal:

Work instructions for handling hazardous materials (such as waste oil);

Disposal facilities for chemical toilets;

Documented organization structure of a management (such as EN ISO 14000 /Ecological Audit / ISO 9000);

Cleaning site for under water floor including supervised disposal;

Garbage disposal including potential recyclable collection, waste oil, bilge water,batteries, paint and varnish residues;

Regulatory required shop stewards assigned;

Feces disposal available in the harbour (also by specialized staff).



Storage:

Storage facilities for floor stands and trailer during summer season;

Cleaning site for under water floor including supervised disposal;

Power supply available;

Outside storage on fastened storage position unheated and temperate storagehall;

Approved transport and storage system for yachts;

Roofed mast storage available (sailboat harbours);

Power supply available (incl. AC);

Industrial sinks and washbasins available in the hall or outside.

Information system consists out of:

Special signs at the marina entrance “The Yellow Wave”;

Classification plate showing up to ;

Entry on the website of “The Yellow Wave” (www.gelbe-welle.de);

Entry in the Guide for Watertourism of boot in Düsseldorf (www.boot.de ) and

of ADAC ( www.adac.de/ReiseService/Wassersport );

Accessible by internet and hardcopy.

Validity

Classification is valid 3 years;

Optional upgrades any time;

After that term it can be renewed after new quality assessment;

Validity is shown on classification plates and certificates.

Start of Auditing Program was in summer 2005;

So far 34 Marinas (May 2008) assessed:

4 Marinas achieved

8 Marinas achieved

21 Marinas achieved

Further 2 marinas are currently under assessment.
