The ISG Alumni constitute one of the biggest networks of active gra-duates (19,600 professionals) of all French business schools. ISG gra-duates are present on every conti-nent in more than 100 countries and active in all business fields.

Defining the ‘academic background’ of the students of ISG’s Internatio-nal MBA program is easy; there is no one background, though a com-mon purpose: to be better, stron-ger, smarter and more prepared.

The International MBA program at ISG attracts young and seasoned professionals who study with us for three main reasons: to boost their careers, change direction, and be more competitive in the internatio-nal job market by having a better understanding of business today.

of studiesoverview

The International MBA program is a one-year program held in Paris. As a series of bimonthly seminars that take place from Thursday to Saturday, this structure allows students to take advantage of this end-of-the-week

schedule to either continue working, start in a new field and undertake an internship, or to dedicate themselves fully to the teachings, assignments

and learning demanded of the seminars.

The CurriculumThe structure of the program consists of a total of 23 semi-nars, allowing students to acquire a firm grasp of relevant themes in business studies today. The order of seminars is methodically arranged so that students can refer to previous constructs, applications, and experiences, and develop a complete and transversal view of each topic. For example, the seminar of ‘Entrepreneurship’ (later in the year) demands understanding of previously learned material, tools and ideas concerning financial management, strategy, marketing, etc. Moreover, the seminars are highly interactive, which creates an atmosphere of methodical discussion and exchange of various business experiences and situations. In addition to the seminars and related work, students must complete and defend a Master’s Thesis which demonstrates their overall understanding of a specific issue affecting busi-ness and economics today.

Optional Summer Semester in NYCAll IMBA students have the opportunity to spend a summer session at a trusted ISG partner institution, St. John’s Univer-sity in New York City. Students participate in seminar–style courses and are further exposed to American-style teaching and management practices. Located on Manhattan’s Lower East side, St. John’s University is recognized for providing its students with a well-rounded education. This uniquely designed study-abroad opportunity allows students to gain an enriching academic experience with other students, expand their networks and live in the bustling city that never sleeps. Coursework is complemented by cor-porate visits to famous American companies located in and around New York City.

the imba facultyThe 24 members of the IMBA Faculty represent twelve nationalities.

Meticulously selected for their top academic qualifications, professional achievements and vast experience in their respective fields, most of our

professors have a PhD., and all successfully bridge the boardroom to the classroom, while pushing our students to go further.

Faculty membersWe are very proud to mention that many of our Faculty mem-bers are ISG Alumni or have taught at some of the following leading Institutions in the world such as: INSEAD, London School of Economics, University of Notre Dame, Trinity Col-lege in Dublin, the American University in Paris, the Univer-sity of Tilburg, EHESS and l’Université Paris-Dauphine to list a few. In addition, our faculty members have thriving Interna-tional careers and have proven themselves to be personally committed to educating the future decision-makers of busi-ness - our students.

' The IMBA program at ISG is one of the best in which I have participated. We professors bridge the gap between the students’ high motivation and professional experience, and the literature and theory of a topic for which they usually have no formal academic experience. This translates to teaching Leadership to students with a background in energy logistics, or International Mar-keting to bankers who have structured plain vanilla op-tions for three years. The diverse backgrounds of the students is also ins-piring, as well as witnessing how all of these cultures orchestrate their work together in one small classroom. The class size is perfect – no more than 20. Spending 24 hours in 3 consecutive days with a small, tight group of committed, smart people from around the world is intense, and the intensity brings a lot to the learning experience. Finally, the most enriching point is that we are deman-ding to each other. The students consistently expect a lot from the faculty, which keeps us in shape intellectual-ly and in terms of current aspects of the field. And we, the professors, expect a lot from them. This symbiotic relationship makes us all better professionals because we are thus more aware of the unspoken aspects of per-suasion, efficiency, and behavior that greatly impact working with others.'

' For five years, I worked in investment management in Brasov,Romania, administrating a €60M business center. Interested in being as inter-national as my clients, I began plan-ning my next career step – an MBA in Europe. After studying the market, I chose ISG, as well as lovely Paris!

This IMBA provides interactive semi-nars in an intensely international envi-ronment covering five continents. Truly global! All seminars were chal-lenging, linking theory to application, with special attention given to team work and ethical concerns. A real bond was developed between students, tea-chers and the ISG Administration in the classroom and through networking events like dinner at the French Open Roland Garros Restaurant.

With the schedule of 3 days per week, I was also fortunate to work at General Electric Capital in Paris during my MBA, with the support of ISG. It was a chance to apply all knowledge gained during my interactive MBA seminars. And with graduation, new professional opportu-nities have arose in property manage-ment. I am very happy for that! '

I currently work in the e-marketing sector. I chose the ISG MBA because it allowed me to get an overall knowledge about business which I needed. I was able to manage year round a balance between work and school.

The IMBA program delivered more than I expected in educational and social terms. All teachers are experts in their respective domains. They are passionate about their subject and always open to help and discuss with their students. The material they pro-vide is of high quality which you can-not find easily elsewhere. You get to know about a wide range of business knowledge which is very valuable in your professional life. It gave me an all-round knowledge and made me more confident.

The IMBA program also puts you in an international environment which is propitious to self-development. The courses push you out of your comfort-zone and get you in touch with people from all over the globe. Learning about different people and culture inevitably changes your perception of the world and yourself.

' After ten years of professional ex-perience in a High-Tech multinatio-nal industry, I took the opportunity to pursue the ISG IMBA program to improve my chances of an executive position in France or abroad. Beyond the academic dimension, I have expe-rienced a challenging human adven-ture with top-ranking teachers and international students with their different backgrounds, knowledge, values and way of thinking. Through my fellow students, I have learned how to cope with multicultural teams by sharing mutual viewpoints and finding the best solution/strategy.

This IMBA program has also given me the chance to go through an in-depth understanding of myself, my perso-nal skills and competencies, as well as pointing out my added value in a competitive work environment. I have learned how to promote myself “as a brand would do”, in a competitive and global market, how to transform my weaknesses into strengths, and how to analyze a company from a multi-di-mensional point of view. Thanks to ISG and the diversity of our students and professors, I have had a wonderful ex-perience, generating values of positive energy, ingenious ideas on complex topics and, quite simply, belonging to a happy ‘ISG community.’
