4) Purchase Studiticket (bus/train/car ferry in Konstanz) for the whole semester
The Studiticket is a ticket only for students, that allows them to travel by public transportation within the municipality by
bus, by train (only from train station Wollmatingen to Konstanz main train station) and with the car ferry (no other ferries)
Konstanz/Staad <-> Meersburg and also allows students to take their bike with them.
You can purchase the Studiticket (56 EUR; valid from 1.10. – 31.3.) either as a label for the UniCard (attach on back
side) or as e-ticket with the "Mein Konstanz” app before OriPro starts.
Note: Please note, that there are two different higher educational institutions in Konstanz, the University of Konstanz and
the HTWG-University of Applied Sciences) with each having their own but different Studiticket!
Good to know: You can also use the buses within the municipality only with your UniCard and current semester label
without the Studiticket, but only in the evenening from 19.00 (and not the night busses).
Until you have a valid Studisticket, please get following tickets for the bus:
- single ticket "Einzelfahrschein" (2.50 EUR) if you would like to take just one bus ride that day
- day ticket "Tageskarte" (4.90 EUR) if you would like to take the bus more than once per day (eg roundtrip)
- multi-trip ticket "Mehrfahrtenkarte" (13.80; 6x 2.30 EUR) allows you take 6 bus rides within an unlimited time period
All three mentioned tickets can be purchased in the bus (conductor) or at the ticket vending machine (at bigger bus stops).
a) Purchase Studiticket as label for UniCard
The Studiticket as a label can be purchased in all kiosks in town. As a student of the University of Konstanz, please make sure to purchase the green label
(not pink)!
For the ticket to be valid to use, you must have your UniCard and the current semester
label (and Studiticket must be attached on back of UniCard)! The ticket allone is not valid!
You will receive the UniCard and the data sheet (with the current semester label) on the first day of OriPro (not sooner).
Please observe the selling points in town on the map on page 20/21 or find more details on the information sheet
in your welcome folder.
Note: Due to the current corona situation some kiosks may have closed.
b) Purchase Studiticket as e-ticket
The Studiticket as an e-ticket can be purchased via the "Mein Konstanz” app (only in German)
and conveniently with eg Paypal. Since the app is only in German, please find a detailed description on how to purchase the
Studiticket as an e-ticket in the information sheet in your welcome folder.
Note: Also the e-ticket is only valid together with your UniCard and current semester label or with enrollment cetificate.

E-mail from Foreigners' Registration Office Konstanz forwarded by the International Office.
When? What?
Around 15.00 E-mail with the list of documents to be presented to the Foreigners' Affairs Office Konstanz
(Ausländerbehörde) to finalize the application for your residence permit.
Important: Please also check your spam/junk folder!
If all your documents were so far complete, you will also receive an individual appointment to which you
must bring the listed documents, submit your fingerprints digitally and possibly pay the fee for the first
issuance of the residence permit card.
The first issuance of a residence permit card with validity up to 1 year costs 100 EUR, the first issuance
of a residence permit with validity longer than 1 year: 110 EUR.
Note: Students with a monthly scholarship funded by the EU or German state are exempted from the
fee for the first issuance of the residence permit.
Should documents however be missing for a successful application for a residence permit, please
get in touch with your adviser (Frank E. Lutzenberger: [email protected]) as
soon as possible!
