INTERNET SAFETY POLICY Purpose: To provide free public access to information, resources and services. Disclaimer : The Nenana Public Library reserves the right to control the use of the libraries internet through the use of internet filters/monitoring. However we are not responsible nor endorse the internet content. The user should exercise judgment in assessing the credibility of information viewed. Child Safety of the Internet : The Nenana Public Library upholds the rights of parents and legal guardians to supervise their children on the internet and to monitor their own children’s use of all library materials and resources. The library encourages parents and guardians to discuss internet safety with their children and to assist with this, the library has informational brochures regarding Internet Safety that are free to take home. Procedures for Use of Internet Workstations Computers and WIFI are available at no charge. Those seeking distance learning or applying for jobs have priority for internet use and are not restricted to the one hour limit; please inform the library staff. Printer fee is .10 cents for black and white pages and .25 cents for color. Color Photo’s cost $1.00 because of the extra ink that it takes. Contact staff to use the color printer since some of the computers are not set up for this. Responsibilities of Library Internet Users including WIFI users and Staff : Use of the electronic resources for illegal or criminal activity is prohibited. Users are to comply with all local, state, and federal laws. Display of sexually explicit images at any library terminal is forbidden. Violations of any laws or library policy may result in loss of library privileges and possible civil or criminal penalties. Library staff reserves the right to terminate an internet session that disrupts library services or is in violation of the libraries policies and procedures.
