Friday 7th February 2020 Aendance Award Our Aendance Award this week goes to Year 4 with 99%. Remember our target for the year is 96%. Anything below that is a worry—this week 5 classes were above 96%. Well done to our Stars of the Weekfor their hard work and effort in class. Message from the head: I am oſten heartened by the acons of our children when considering the future of society and the planet. At mes, the news can seem very bleak however coming in to Fleet and listening to the views of the chil- dren always gives me hope. This was never made clearer than this week—on Monday I saw our Rights Respecng Ambassadors selling reusable water boles on the gate in the morning in an aempt to re- duce some of the single use plasc we generate as a school—something they decided was important to them (theyre selling more this coming Monday—please support them). Later in the week, I was visited by some of our Year 5 girls who asked me to sign a peon. They wanted to raise awareness on the issue animal poaching of endangered species such as Rhinos and Elephants. They very arculately told me how awful it was and explained the problem and the effects. When I asked what brought it to their aenon they explained that they had been learning about it with Ms Kingham as part of their topic work. To see the children inspired by what they are learning and wanng to make a difference shows our curriculum is working. With their caring atude and get up and go effort to make a difference, the sooner their generaon is in charge the beer for us all! Emaline has since created a change.org online peon— please read the arcle she has wrien below and visit the link to learn more and lend your support. Have a great weekend. Attendance Award Our Attendance Award this week goes to Year 4 with 99%. Remember our target for the year is 96%. Anything below that is a worry—this week 5 classes were above 96%.

Well done to our ‘Stars of the Week’ for their hard work and effort in class.

Message from the head: I am often heartened by the actions of our children when considering the future of society and the planet. At times, the news can seem very bleak however coming in to Fleet and listening to the views of the chil-dren always gives me hope. This was never made clearer than this week—on Monday I saw our Rights Respecting Ambassadors selling reusable water bottles on the gate in the morning in an attempt to re-duce some of the single use plastic we generate as a school—something they decided was important to them (they’re selling more this coming Monday—please support them). Later in the week, I was visited by some of our Year 5 girls who asked me to sign a petition. They wanted to raise awareness on the issue animal poaching of endangered species such as Rhino’s and Elephants. They very articulately told me how awful it was and explained the problem and the effects. When I asked what brought it to their attention they explained that they had been learning about it with Ms Kingham as part of their topic work. To see the children inspired by what they are learning and wanting to make a difference shows our curriculum is working. With their caring attitude and get up and go effort to make a difference, the sooner their generation is in charge the better for us all! Emaline has since created a change.org online petition—please read the article she has written below and visit the link to learn more and lend your support. Have a great weekend.

Punctuality Award Our punctuality award goes to Year 1 with just 1 late! Well done to them. 22 lates for the whole school this week—we still need to improve.
