INTERNSHIP  JOB  DESCRIPTION  

Atlantis  are  seeking  a  professional,  dependable  and  personable  Intern  to  assist  with  all  areas  of  Guest  Activities  and  Recreation.  The  position  is  a  6  month  program,  so  as  to  ensure  you  gain  as  much  professional  exposure  as  possible.  We  want  to  give  you  the  chance  to  build  lasting  relationships.  Interns  must  display  a  dedication  to  the  industry,  and  make   a   real   contribution   to   the   team,   as   well   as   the   development   of   the   business.   Interns   may   have   the  opportunity   to   learn   about   any   department   within   the   resort   and   receive   hands-­‐on   training   from   hospitality  professionals.    

This  position  reports  to  the  Learning  and  Development  team,  however  is  supervised  by  qualified  Managers  within  Guest   Activities   and   Recreation.   This   enables   you   to   build   strong   internal   networks   and   to   get   an   elaborate  overview   of   the   operation,   whilst   maximising   your   ability   of   discovering   your   strengths   and   future   career  opportunities.  Please  note  that  official  working  hours  in  the  UAE  are  48  hours  per  week.  The  hotel  operates  24/7  and  we  continuously  strive  for  perfection;  thus  it  is  your  opportunity  to  take  on  responsibilities  and  showcase  your  leadership  skills  at  all  times.  

   

JOB  RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Participate  in  weekly  meetings  and  discussions  to  assist  with  forecasting,  scheduling,  devising  new  concepts  and  business  management.  

• Interact  with  guests  to  enhance  guest  experience  and  gain  valuable  feedback.  • Oversee   the   safety   of   guests   by  maintaining   pristine   resort   conditions,   and   following   SOPs,   policies   and  

procedures.  • Design,  plan  and  execute  daily  activities,  games  and  crafts  for  children  and  families.  • Work  on  special  projects  throughout  the  internship  that  could  involve  total  event  management  from  start  

to  finish  and/or  market  research.  • Assist  the  Learning  and  Development  team  with  special  projects.  • Team  management,  leadership  and  development.  

JOB  REQUIREMENTS  

• Available  July  through  December  • Must  be  a  junior  or  senior,  majoring  in  Recreation  • Strong  Guest  Service  skills  • Ability  to  stand/walk  for  long  periods  of  time,  lift  or  push  15-­‐50  lbs  from  time  to  time  • Ability  to  work  in  extreme  heat  • Ability  to  lead  and  develop  a  team  • Must  be  culturally  aware  and  capable  of  managing  different  nationalities  • Event  experience  desirable  

SALARY  AND  BENEFITS:    

Salary:    AED  1000  per  month  (Approximately  $272.48)  

Accommodation:  Double  sharing  accommodation,  along  with  another  Intern

Visa  Requirements:  Atlantis  will  pay  for  working  residency  visa,  as  well  as  Emirates  ID
