Our  Lady  of  Guadalupe  Icon  Sun  25th  Oct  Open  Visits  from  9.30am-­‐  6.30  pm  &  during  the  week  7.30am-­‐  6.30  pm  so  that  pilgrims  may  venerate  the  Image,  at  the  Cathedral.  Thurs  29th  Oct  Mass  of  Our  Lady  of  Guadalupe  at  7.30  pm.    Torchlight  Procession  for  the  Repeal  of  the  Abortion  Act  on  Thurs  29th  Oct  at  George  Square,  Glasgow.  Rosary  begins  at  6.30pm  followed  by  Procession  to  St   Andrew’s   Cathedral,   Clyde   St.   Surely   modern   society   can   offer   a   better  option  to  serious  difficulties  than  “take  the  life  of  an  unborn  child.”    Request  for  Old  Spectacles  at  Kwale  Eye  Clinic,  Kenya.  These  will  be  brought  by  our  very  own  Ann  &  John  McDonald.  If  known,  write  the  prescription  on  a  sticker  on  the  glasses  &  place  in  box  in  porch  area.  Proceeds  at  this  time,  from  Tea  &  Toast  on  Tuesdays  will  go  to  fund  Medical  supplies  in  Kenya.    Archdiocese  of  Glasgow  Arts  Project  (AGAP)  invites  artists  to  consider  the  theme  of  Mercy   for  a   special   art   exhibition   to   take  place  during  Lent  within  the  Year  of  Mercy.  The  Remit:  Artists  are  invited  to  submit  an  original  work  of  art,  inspired  by  the  theme  Mercy.  Further  details:  Archdiocesan  Website.    October  Devotions  Mondays  at  7pm.    Please  consider  praying  the  Rosary  as  a  family;  a  plenary  Indulgence  is  attached.    

Mission  Sunday  Appeal  raised  £1,500    SCIAF  Quiz  on  Friday  27th  November.  SCIAF   Parish   Updates   in   porch   area  and  alongside  them  is  a  SCIAF  petition  to  PM  David  Cameron   against   climate  change   and   the   potential   damage   to  the  world's  poorest  people.    Coffee   Morning   next   week   after  9.30am   Mass,   proceeds   will   go   to  Carmelite  Monastery,   Kirkintilloch,   the  local  “powerhouse  of  prayer”.      Month   of   the   Holy   Souls   There   are  November   Lists   &   Envelopes   in   the  Porch  Area.  Please  uplift  &  return.  

Divine   Mercy   Visit   by   Internationally-­‐  renowned  Speaker  Fr  Peter  Prusakiewicz  CSMA  to   this  Parish  on  Sunday  25th  October.  Fr  Peter  will  be  the  Celebrant  at  11.40am  Mass  and  will  lead  us   in  a  Holy  Hour  at  5pm  (with  tea   in  Hall  afterwards).    Bereaved  of  the  Past  Year  are  being  invited  to  Mass   next   week.   The   Names   of   the   Deceased  whose   Funerals   took   place   over   the   past   year  (mid-­‐  October  2014  to  mid-­‐  October  2015)  from  here,  will  be  read  out  &  a  candle  lit.  If   you  would   like   to   assist   offering  Tea/  Coffee  to   the   Bereaved   (&   others)   please   see   Brenda  (after   9.30am   Mass)   or   Carol   (after   11.40am  Mass).      Croy   Historical   Society   Its   former   members   will   again   hold   a   picture  display,  in  our  Hall  today,  Sunday,  25th  Oct,  10am-­‐  2pm.  Hopefully  most  of  the  photos/  items  will  be  returned  to  the  original  or  interested  family  members.    Helpful  Words  for  those  who  have  had  an  abortion  from  Pope  John  Paul  II:  “I  would  now   like   to   say   a   special  word   to  women  who  have  had   an   abortion.  The  Church   is  aware  of   the  many   factors  which  may  have   influenced  your  decision,  and  she  does  not  doubt  that  in  many  cases  it  was  a  painful  and  even  shattering  decision.  The  wound  in  your  heart  may  not  yet  have  healed.  Certainly  what  happened  was  and  remains  terribly  wrong.  But  do  not  give  in  to  discouragement  and  do  not  lose  hope.  Try  rather  to  understand  what  happened  and  face  it  honestly.  If  you  have  not  already  done   so,   give  yourselves  over  with  humility   and   trust   to   repentance.  The  Father  of  mercies   is   ready   to   give   you   his   forgiveness   and   his   peace   in   the   Sacrament   of  Reconciliation.   To   the   same   Father   and   his   mercy   you   can   with   sure   hope   entrust  your   child.  With   the   friendly   and   expert   help   and   advice   of   other   people,   and   as   a  result   of   your   own   painful   experience,   you   can   be   among   the   most   eloquent  defenders  of  everyone's   right   to   life.  Through  your  commitment   to   life,  whether  by  accepting   the  birth  of  other   children  or  by  welcoming  and  caring   for   those  most   in  need  of   someone   to  be   close   to   them,   you  will   become  promoters   of   a  new  way  of  looking  at  human  life.”                 Evangelium  Vitae  n.99    Statistic  of  the  Week  The  Parish  Facebook  page  has  just  passed  500  “likes”.
