1. Introduction

These operating instructions contain all the information neededfor safe and proper use of the retractable housings InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac® 776-SL.

The operating instructions are intended for personnel entrustedwith the operation and maintenance of the retractable housings.It is assumed that these persons are familiar with the equipmentin which the retractable housing is installed.

Construction of the retractable housings employs leading-edgetechnology and complies with safety regulations currently inforce (Mettler Toledo GmbH as the manufacturer has beenawarded ISO 9001/EN29001 certification). Notwithstandingthis, improper use could lead to hazards for the user or a third-party, and/or adverse effects on the plant or other equipment.Therefore, the operating instructions must be read and under-stood by the persons involved before work is started with theretractable housing.

In addition to these operating instructions, you should also befamiliar with the following:

– All local safety regulations concerning the erection of pneu-matic and water installations.

– All information and warnings in the documentation dealingwith the products used together with the retractable housing(electrodes/sensors, control system, etc.).

– All safety regulations governing the equipment in which theretractable housing is installed.

– All information and warnings affixed to the retractable hous-ing.


2. Important remarks

Please read through this section carefully. It contains severalimportant points which will help you use the retractable housingin a safe and proper manner.

2.1 Checking the shipment

On receipt of the shipment, check immediately:

– the retractable housing and accessories for transport dama-ge. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and yoursupplier.

– the type designation on the housing body.

– the shipment for completeness. Please notify your supplierimmediately if the shipment is incomplete (see Section 8.1“Standard equipment”) or does not concur with the order anddelivery documents.

2.2 Notes on operating instructions

Restriction

The information contained in these operating instructions appliesonly to the different models of the InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac®

776-SL retractable housings.

Detailed information on the electrodes/sensors and their instal-lation is not given in these instructions. Such information can befound in the separate documentation accompanying these pro-ducts. Where necessary, appropriate cross-references to suchpublications are given in these operating instructions.

Conventions

This pictogram represents safety and hazard warnings which,if ignored, could result in injuries to personnel and/or mate-rial damage.

StoragePlease keep these operating instructions in a safe place wherethey are always accessible.

If these instructions are lost, please contact your supplier for areplacement.

Language versions

Operating instructions for the retractable housings InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac® 776-SL are available in English, German andFrench.


2.3 Normal use

The retractable housings are intended solely for measure-ment with the specified METTLER TOLEDO pH and redoxscrewcap electrodes as well as 12 mm dissolved oxygen sen-sors, conductivity and turbidity sensors.

Use the retractable housings solely for this purpose. Usage whichdiffers from or exceeds this normal usage will be regarded asusage not for the intended purpose. The manufacturer/supplier accepts no responsibility for anydamage resulting from such improper usage. The risk is borneentirely by the user.

Normal use also includes:

– Compliance with the instructions, regulations and informa-tion in these operating instructions for the InTrac® 777-SLand InTrac® 776-SL retractable housings.

– Adherence to the stipulated inspection and maintenanceintervals.

– Correct maintenance of the retractable housing.

– Operation with due observance of the stipulated environ-mental and operating conditions (see Section 8.2) and theadmissible mounting positions.

2.4 Safety instructions

– The retractable housings InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac® 776-SL should be installed, operated, maintained and, if needbe, repaired only by personnel familiar with the housing andwho are qualified for such work. The customer is responsi-ble for ensuring that:– only trained and authorized personnel work with the

retractable housings.– the operating instructions should be supplemented by in-

house instructions regarding supervisory duties and obli-gation to report, work organization, personnel qualifica-tion, etc.

– Ensure that the material specification of your retractablehousing and of the seals satisfies the requirements of theprocess and is compatible with the (vessel) cleaning solu-tions used (see Section 8.2 “Technical data”). In case ofdoubt, contact your supplier.

– Before every startup, the retractable housing must bechecked for:– Damage to the connections, fastening, etc.– Leaks– Faulty cables

A defective retractable housing must neither be installednor put into service.




– If it is suspected that hazard-free operation is no longer pos-sible (eg. housing damaged, connections and lines leak-ing), the retractable housing and the equipment in which theretractable housing is installed must be shut down and secu-red against inadvertent operation.

– Before dismounting the retractable housing or commencingany maintenance work on it, ensure that the equipment inwhich the housing is installed is in a safe condition (depres-surize, empty, rinse, purge, vent, etc.). Retractable housingsmay only be stripped down after having been completely dis-mounted.

– Only the maintenance and repair work described in theseoperating instructions may be performed on the retracta-ble housings.

– When in the “Measuring” position, no maintenance or repairwork may be carried out on the retractable housing.

– When changing faulty components, use only original spareparts obtainable from your supplier (see spare parts list, Sec-tion 8.3).

– No attachments or modifications to the retractable housingsand the accessories are allowed. The manufacturer/supplieraccepts no responsibility for damage caused by unauthoriz-ed attachments and modifications or the incorporation ofnon-original spare parts. The risk is borne entirely by theuser.

– If the compressed air supply fails, the process pressure canpush the housing into the “Maintenance” position. The mea-suring signal will be falsified as the sensor no longer mea-sures in the process medium. Therefore an automatic warn-ing system for the compressed air supply should be installed.Note: a power failure has no direct influence on the retrac-table housing, the measuring signal will however not be eva-luated by the transmitter.


3. General product description

3.1 The different models

The retractable housings are available in different models, basedon:

– insertion lengths (“H”)70 mm, 100 mm and 200 mm

– materials in contact with the medium (wetted parts)stainless steel DIN 1.4435, PVDF, PVC

– seal materials (O-rings) in contact with the mediumVITON® FDA and KALREZ®

3.2 Construction of the retractable housings

The InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac® 776-SL retractable housingsare differentiated by the types of electrode/sensor that can beused:

– InTrac® 777-SL without pressure compensation:In this retractable housing, only pH/redox electrodes witha polymer or gel-type electrolyte, 12 mm DO sensors, con-ductivity or turbidity sensors can be used.(eg. pH sensor HA405-DXK-S8, HA405-DPA-SC-S8)

– InTrac® 776-SL with pressure compensation:In this retractable housing only pH/redox electrodes/sen-sors with liquid electrolyte can be used.(eg. pH sensor HA465-50-EQ-T-S7)


3.2.1 Operating modes of the retractable housings

Both versions of the InTrac® 776-SL and InTrac® 777-SL areavailable with different modes of operation:

3.3 Description of function

With the InTrac® 777-SL and InTrac® 776-SL retractable hous-ings, electrodes/sensors can be cleaned or replaced without in-terrupting the ongoing process. Furthermore, it is possible to cali-brate the measurement system with the electrode/sensor install-ed, using appropriate ancillary equipment.

3.3.1 Manually operated housings

– InTrac® 777-SLM


For manual versions, the immersion tube is moved into the desir-ed end position (“Measuring” or “Maintenance”) by hand afterreleasing the locking pin “B” by pulling out the red knob.

Important: The housings are equipped with an automatic sen-sor detection arrangement. If no electrode/sensor has been fitt-ed in the housing, it is not possible to release the locking pin.The housing remains in a locked position.

“Measuring” position, manual versions

In the “Measuring” position, the immersion tube is fullyinserted. The process medium flows past the tip of theelectrode/sensor through the openings at the end of theimmersion tube.

O-rings seal the housing against ingress of processmedium.

In the “Measuring” position the locking pin must latchinto the groove of the immersion tube. In addition, thepositioning pin “A” must engage the recess in the hand-le (protective sleeve). To do this, rotate the immersiontube clockwise until pin “A” engages the groove.

“Maintenance” position, manual versions

In the “Maintenance” position, the electrode/sensor canbe cleaned or removed/exchanged, or the completemeasuring system calibrated with the electrode/sensorinstalled. O-rings seal the housing against ingress ofprocess medium.

In the “Maintenance” postion the locking pin “B” mustsnap into the hole in the piston. This is achieved byturning the immersion tube clockwise.

3.3.2 Pneumatically operated housings

– InTrac® 777-SLP, InTrac® 776-SLP

– InTrac® 777-SLR, InTrac® 776-SLR(pneumatic versions with end position indicator)

The compressed air connections are used to pressurize thepiston of the immersion tube either from above or below. Thismoves the immersion tube and hence the electrode/sensor eitherdownwards (to the “Measuring” position) or upwards (to the“Maintenance” position). The piston remains pressurized withcompressed air at the respective end position.

In the versions equipped with a position indication system(InTrac® 777-SLR, InTrac® 776-SLR), a signal is pneumatical-ly triggered when the housing reaches the respective (“Measur-ing” or “Maintenance”) end position. This signal is transmittedto a remote indicator (not included in housing supply).

“Measuring” position, pneumatic versions

In the “Measuring” position compressed airpressurizes the immersion tube piston fromabove. The process medium flows past theelectrode/sensor tip through the opening in theimmersion tube. O-rings seal the housingagainst the sample medium.

“Maintenance” position, pneumatic versions

In the “Maintenance” position compressed airpressurizes the immersion tube piston frombelow. In this position the electrode/sensor canbe cleaned or removed/exchanged or the mea-surement system calibrated with the electro-de/sensor installed. O-rings seal the housingagainst the sample medium.

The housings are equipped with an automaticsensor detection arrangement. If no electro-de/sensor is fitted, or is improperly installed, thehousing will not move into the “Measuring”position.


Warning! Installation of the retractable housings at otherthan the admissible mounting positions is not allowed, sincein such positions proper functioning of the electrode/sensorcannot be guaranteed.

4. Installation/Startup and shutdown of manuallyand pneumatically operated housings

4.1 Preparation of the equipment

The housings are mounted and fixed on the vessel (reactor, tank,pipe, etc.) by means of a ring nut in conjunction with a weld-insocket, by a flange connection or a 1" MNPT external (male)thread.

Attachment of the weld-in socket or the flange connection to thevessel is the responsibility of the customer.

Note: Weld-in sockets with thread G 11/4" (internal ø= 25 mm,L= 40 mm, straight or at an angle of 15°) are available fromyour supplier in a choice of materials.

Important! After welding, the bore of the weld-in socket must bechecked and reamed to size 25-H7 if necessary.

To ensure correct functioning of the retractable housing, pleasenote the following information on positioning:

– The retractable housing can be installed vertically or at anangle. In the latter case, ensure that the angle of the hou-sing is equal to or greater than 15° above the horizontal(see following illustration).

– The retractable housing should be mounted in a positionwhich allows sufficient clearance for its correct functioning(correct measuring position in the medium) and mainten-ance (checks, installation and removal of the electrodes/sensors). – Avoid mounting the retractable housing at exposed positi-ons. If this is not possible, appropriate measures must betaken to protect against damage.

4.2 Fitting and installation work

Warning! In all installation work described below, ensure thatthe equipment in which the housing is installed is in a non-ha-zardous condition (depressurized, empty, rinsed, purged, etc.)

4.2.1 Fitting the housing

Warning! Never place the housing on the front ends of the im-mersion tube or the centering spigot (risk of damage). Ensurethat the housing is fitted to the correct, prescribed socket or flangeas directed.

Fitting of weld-in socket

1. Clean the centering spigot of the housing and the bore in theweld-in socket (25-H7) checking for damage.Warning! Fitting the retractable housing with a damagedcentering spigot or fitting the retractable housing in a damag-ed weld-in socket is not allowed and could lead to injuriesto personnel and/or damage to the housing or vessel.

2. Check the vessel to ensure that there are no obstacles in theinsertion direction which would prevent motion of the immer-sion tube.

3. Check the O-ring on the spigot for damage and replace it ifnecessary. Lightly smear O-ring with grease. Ensure correctquality and positioning of the O-ring.

4. Position the housing on the weld-in socket and carefully in-sert spigot in the bore.

5. Finally, tighten ring nut firmly by hand. Important! Use no tools (the seal between the housing andthe socket is made by the O-ring on the spigot).

Installation of flange

1. Clean the sealing surfaces of the flanges (housing and flan-ge connection on vessel) and check for damage.

Warning! If process media are considered to be dangerous,then it is imperative that an embedded seal is used at theflange interface and/or a splash guard mounted. Fitting theretractable housing with damaged flange connections is notpermissible and can lead to injuries to personnel and/ordamage to the housing or vessel.

2. Use the appropriate flange gasket and check for soundness.

N.B. Instruction valid for special materials only:Ensure that TEFLON® seal is present on the flange of theretractable housing and check for damage. Replace if neces-sary. Ensure correct quality and positioning of the TEFLON®

seal.





3. Check the vessel to ensure there are no obstacles in the ins-ertion direction which would prevent motion of the immersi-on tube.

4. Mount housing on the flange, align and tighten evenly cross-wise with hex bolts and nuts.

Mounting with MNPT 1" external (male) thread

1. Wind Teflon® tape around the external (male) thread.

2. Screw the housing carefully into the counter-thread.

3. Check the installation for leaks.

4.2.2 Attaching the flushing lines

Important information

– When the electrode/sensor is withdrawn, small amounts ofthe process medium adhere to the electrode/sensor tip andcan enter the outflow line during the rinsing process. If theprocess medium is an environmentally harmful substance(toxic, corrosive, etc.), it is essential to comply with the localregulations governing the installation of wastewater services.

– Use only corrosion-resistant and chemically resistant mate-rials for the rinsing water installation.



Effect of intermediate position of versions with immersion depth H = 70 mm

When inserting and retracting the housing and if the mobile partshould become positioned between the proper IN and OUT endpositions, the process fluid may flow out through the lock cham-ber and flushing lines. This could create a hazard for personnel,equipment and environment.

Recommendation for proper operation and safe use

All flushing lines must be equipped with valves which may onlybe opened when the retractable part of the housing is in the main-tenance position. After the flushing and maintenance of the sen-sors, the flushing valves must be closed.

Basic installation

The basic installation is intended for cleaning/flushing of theelectrodes/sensors when the housing is in the “Maintenance”position.

– Inlet:

The inlet line is connected to rinsing water inlet “A” (threadG 1/8") of the housing via an appropriate shut-off device(dependent on the control unit used).

The permitted water pressure is 2 bar.

– Outlet:

For the water outlet, rinsing water outlet “B” (thread G 1/4")is connected to a suitable drain (comply with local regula-tions).

Important! The water outlet should be positioned somewhathigher than the inlet so that the lock chamber is always fill-ed with water or buffer solution, and the pH electrode/ sen-sor cannot dry out even when the inlet is closed. If need be,use a suitable lead-off (first upwards) to the outlet line toensure this.

Installation for calibration of the measurement system withelectrode/sensor installed

If the measurement system (electrode/sensor and amplifier) hasto be calibrated with the electrode/sensor installed, a distributorwith 3 connections is attached to the connection (thread G 1/8”)of the housing in place of the inlet line.

Make 3 connections as shown in theadjacent schematic diagram:

• Connection “A” to the rinsingwater inlet via a shut-off valve.

• Connections “B” and “C” to thecorresponding buffer solutionsupply, each via a non returnvalve.

4.2.3 Pneumatic connections

For pneumatic operation of the housing, the housing connec-tions “1” and “2” are to be linked to the air lines “1” and “2” asbelow.

Attention! Only the original fittings supplied with the housingmay be used.

If the position indicator system is to be used, the two connec-tions “3” and “4” are to be linked to the position indicator valves“3” and “4”.

Note:

– The permitted operating pressure of the pneumatic system is8 bar.

– The pressure in the control air supply for the housing mustbe at least 4 bar.

– The control air must be oil-free, and filtered.

4.2.4 Installing the temperature sensor

During calibration of the measurement system, the temperatureof the calibration medium and therefore also of the electrode/sensor (with exception of the turbidity sensor) must be taken intoaccount. To cover this aspect, a temperature sensor is connec-ted to the amplifier.

For automatic temperature compensation during calibration ofthe measurement system with an electrode/sensor installed, atemperature sensor (eg. Pt100/Pt1000) should be installeddirectly in the lock chamber.

For the Pt100/Pt1000 installation, proceed as follows:

1. Remove blind plug (thread G 1/8").

2. Screw in temperature sensor (Pt100/Pt1000) with sealingring then tighten using a small fork spanner.

3. Connect the temperature sensor to the corresponding inputof the amplifier input.

4.2.5 Fitting the electrode/sensor

InTrac® 777-SL retractable housing

1. Set the housing to “Maintenance” po-sition.

2. Remove the cable antikink “2”.

3. Unscrew the protective sleeve “3”.

4. Check that the correct electrode/sen-sor type has been selected (see Sec-tion 9 “Appendix”).

5. Check the electrode/sensor for dama-ge (eg. electrode/sensor breakage).

Warning! A damaged elec-trode/sensor must never beinstalled.

6. Check washers and O-rings on elec-trodes/sensors for damage and repla-ce if necessary.

7. Remove watering cap from electrode/sensor tip and rinse electrode/sensorwith water.

8. Carefully insert the electrode/sensorinto the immersion tube and screw inby hand as far as it will go.

Important: use no tools!

9. Remove the screw cap cover on thecoaxial connection of the electrode/sensor.

10.Run the connection cable through theantikink “2” and the protective sleeve“3”, and attach the plug to the elec-trode/sensor.

11.Mount protective sleeve “3” and tigh-ten by hand. Finally, replace the cableantikink “2”.

Warning! If the ring nut “5“ and the plastic adapter “4” are tigh-tened in the wrong order, the electrode may break. It is thus es-sential to follow the procedure described below.

1. Set the housing to “Maintenance” po-sition.

2. Remove the cable antikink “2”.

3. Remove protective sleeve “3”, plasticadapter “4” and ringnut “5”.

4. Check that the correct electrode typehas been selected (see Section 9 “Ap-pendix”).

5. Check the electrode for damage (eg.electrode breakage).

Warning! A damaged elec-trode must never be install-ed.

6. Remove watering cap from the elec-trode tip, the stopper from the fillingport, and the rubber band.Rinse electrode with water.Important! After removing the stopp-er, do not tilt the electrode as referen-ce electrolyte may spill out.

7. Check the level of electrolyte and if ne-cessary replenish (see instr. sheet ofthe relative electrode).

8. Carefully insert electrode into the im-mersion tube until it comes up againstthe TEFLON® cradle.Important! If installing at an angle,ensure that the marking “Positionelectrode this side up” points up-wards. In this position no referenceelectrolyte can flow out of the fillingport (assuming fill level is correct).

9. Check flat gasket “6” of upper part of housing for damageand replace if necessary. Mount upper part and tighten ringnut “5” by hand.Warning! Ring nut “5” of the upper part may be tightenedonly with plastic adapter “4” removed.

10.Check seal of plastic adapter “4” and replace the completeadapter if necessary. Mount plastic adapter “4” and tightenby hand.

11.Remove the screw cap cover on the coaxial connection ofthe electrode.

12.Run the connection cable through the antikink “2” and theprotective sleeve “3”, and attach the plug to the electrode.

13.Mount protective sleeve “3” and tighten by hand. Finally,replace the cable antikink “2”.

14.Set the compensation pressure in the housing:

The compensation pressure can be set with a bicycle pumpvia the valve core at the pressure gauge, or established byattaching a permanent (oil-free) compressed air supply(using the pressure connection set included in the standardequipment).

Note: To ensure electrolyte flow from the reference electrodeto the sample medium, the air pressure in the upper part mustbe at least 0.5 bar and max. 2 bar above that of the sam-ple medium (take hydrostatic pressure of the sample medi-um into account).

4.3 Startup procedure

4.3.1 Startup procedure for manually operated housings

Before startup, all fitting and installation work (see Section 4.2)must have been completed! Each time before startup, check themeasuring system, inspect the electrode/sensor assembly andexamine for leaks from housing and apparatus (see also Sec-tion 7). Do not begin operation until the measuring system hasbeen checked and any necessary corrective action has beentaken.

Proceed as follows for startup:

1. Pull the red knob of the locking pin inorder to release the immersion tube.

2. Move immersion tube to the “Mainte-nance” position. The tube must enga-ge the lower limit stop (for “InTrac777-SLM”). When the handle (pro-tective sleeve) reaches the positio-ning pin “A”, the immersion tubeshould be turned clockwise until therecess in the handle (protective slee-ve) is in alignment with the positio-ning pin “A”. The immersion tube cannow be fully inserted into the “Mea-suring” position. There is an audibleclick when the locking pin engages.

4.3.2 Startup procedure for pneumatically operatedhousings

Before startup, all fitting and installation work (see Section 4.2)must have been completed! Each time before startup, check themeasuring system, inspect the electrode/sensor assembly andexamine for leaks from housing and apparatus (see also Sec-tion 7). Do not begin operation until the measuring system hasbeen checked and any necessary corrective action has beentaken.

Proceed as follows for startup:

1. Open air supply for the control air system. Check:– insertion and withdrawal movement of the immersion

tube, as well as the status indication for the respectiveend positions

– the control air system for tightness. Seal any leakingconnections immediately.

2. Move immersion tube to “Maintenance” position and openrinsing water supply (2 bar). Check rinsing water system fortightness. Seal leaking connections immediately.

3. If your system is equipped for calibration of the measurementsystem, move the housing to the “Maintenance” position andperform a calibration (see Section 5.4). In this case, check:– the calibration procedure is correct.– the buffer solution systems for tightness. Seal any lea-

king connections immediately.

On successful completion of all function checks, the equipmentin which the housing is installed can be started up.

Warning! Following startup of the equipment, particular caremust be exercised in operations at the retractable housing. The-refore it is essential to pay close attention to the information inSection 5.1.



4.4 Shutdown procedure for manually and pneumati-cally operated housings

N.B. For InTrac“ 777-SL manually operated housings. lockingpin “B” must snap into the hole in the piston. This is achievedby turning the immersion tube clockwise after withdrawal.

1. Move housing to the “Maintenance” position.

2. Open rinsing water supply, rinse electrode/sensor and closerinsing water supply.

3. Ensure that the equipment in which the housing is installedis in a non-hazardous condition (depressurize, empty, rinse,purge, vent, etc.).

4. Close control air to pneumatic housings.

4.5 Dismantling work

4.5.1 Removing the electrode/sensor

Warning! Removal and installation of the electrodes/sensorsmay be performed only in the “Maintenance” position.


1. Set housing to the “Maintenance”position, ensuring locking pin “B”snaps into the hole in the piston (see3.3.1)

2. Open rinsing water supply, rinse elec-trode/sensor and then close rinsingwater supply.

3. Remove cable antikink “3”.

4. Unscrew protective sleeve “4”.

5. Disconnect the signal cable from theelectrode.

6. Unscrew the electrode/sensor and ca-refully remove from immersion tube.

Retractable housing InTrac® 776-SL

Warning! If the plastic adapter “4” and the ring nut “5” are undo-ne in the wrong order, the pH/redox electrode may break. The-refore it is essential to follow the procedure described below.

1. Move housing to the “Maintenance”position.

2. Open rinsing water supply and rinseelectrode. Close rinsing water supply.

3. Depressurize the upper part by slight-ly loosening the valve core at the pres-sure gauge or by interrupting the com-pressed air supply. Then retight valvecore.

4. Remove cable antikink “2” and un-screw protective sleeve “3”.

5. Disconnect the signal cable from theelectrode.

6. Undo plastic adapter “4” and remove.

7. Undo ring nut “5” and remove upperpart “7”.

8. Carefully withdraw electrode from im-mersion tube.

Note: Specific information on the electrode (adjustment with themeasurement system, storage of the electrode, etc.) will befound in the relative documentation for the electrode or measu-rement system.

4.5.2 Removing the housing

1. Shut down the housing (see Section 4.4).

2. Remove the electrode/sensor (see Section 4.5.1).

3. Dismantle rinsing water and control air lines.Important! Close connections to prevent ingress of dirt.

4. Undo ring nut or flange connection and carefully removehousing.

Warning! Never place the housing on the front ends of theimmersion tube or the centering spigot (risk of damage).

4.6 Using of cable with BNC plugs

If your pH cable has a BNC connector, you cannot use the stan-dard rubber grommet with antiknick on the protective sleeve asthe bore is too narrow to allow passage of the BNC connector.In this case, simply unscrew both the antiknick and the grom-met (A), put the rubber split grommet around the cable instead,and insert this into the protective sleeve (B).

5. Operation

5.1 Important information for everyday operation

– Force must never be used to move the immersion tube intothe “Measuring” position without an electrode/sensor install-ed, otherwise process medium can flow out via the openimmersion tube!

– During operation, the following should never be loosened:– the lines of the pneumatic system or of the rinsing and

buffer solutions.– all fastening components (flange fastening, ring nut,

etc.).

– If any malfunctions occur during operation, the equipment inwhich the housing is installed must first be made safe.

– For all work in everyday operation, wear the stipulated pro-tective clothing (eg. protective goggles, gloves, breathingapparatus, etc.).

5.2 Inspection work in everyday operation

The following inspection work should be performed in everydayoperation:

• Check all systems (air, rinsing water and, if used, buffer solu-tions) for leaks.

• Check fastening (ring nut, flange, NPT-thread) of the hou-sing at the vessel for firm seating and leaks.

• Check the condition of the electrode/sensor. A faulty or dama-ged electrode/sensor must be replaced immediately.

Housings with pressure compensation (InTrac® 776-SL):

• Check functioning of pressure gauge.

• Check air pressure in upper part (pressure gauge). The airpressure must be at least 0.5 bar and maximum 2 bar abo-ve that of the sample medium (take hydrostatic pressure ofthe sample medium into account) to ensure the electrolyteflow from the reference electrode to the sample medium.Note: The desired overpressure is set with a bicycle pumpvia the valve core at the pressure gauge or established bymeans of a compressed air supply.

• Check level of the reference electrolyte. The level of the refe-rence electrolyte is steadily lowered owing to outflow throughthe diaphragm. If the liquid level has sunk to below the bulbmouth of the pH/redox electrode, the reference electrolytemust be topped up (see Section 6 “Maintenance”).



5.3 Cleaning the electrode/sensor

The electrode/sensor must be cleaned before removal, beforecalibration of the measurement system or at regular intervalsduring operation (depending on the process medium). Proceedas follows:

1. Set the housing to the “Maintenance”position.

2. Open rinsing water supply and rinsethe electrode/sensors.

3. Close rinsing water supply.

5.4 Calibrating the measurement system

The frequency of calibration of the measurement system dependson the electrode/sensor type and the sample medium.

To calibrate the measurement system, proceed as follows:

1. Set housing to the “Maintenance” position.

2. Open rinsing water supply, rinse electrode/sensor and thenclose rinsing water supply.

3. Remove electrode/sensor (procedure, see Section 4.5.1).Note: Step 3 above is only necessary if your installation doesnot allow calibration of the measurement system with theelectrode/sensor installed.

4. Perform calibration in accordance with the operating instruc-tions for the respective electrode/sensor and amplifier.

5. Re-install electrode/sensor (procedure, see Section 4.2.5).Note: Step 5 above is only necessary if your installation doesnot allow calibration of the measurement system with theelectrode/sensor installed.

6. Open rinsing water supply and rinse the electrode/sensor.Close rinsing water supply.

7. Set the housing to the “Measuring” position.



6. Maintenance

6.1 Important information on maintenance

Attention! Maintenance and service work on the housings mayonly be carried out by trained personnel.

Only the maintenance and repair work described in the followingchapters may be performed on the retractable housings.

Warning! It is possible that the process medium could harm theenvironment and your health (toxic, corrosive, etc.). Hence,ensure that the equipment is in a non-hazardous condition befo-re you start with maintenance work.

6.2 Topping up reference electrolyte

The work described below applies only to pH/redox electrodeswith liquid reference electrolyte. To top up the reference electro-lyte, proceed as follows:

1. Remove electrode (see Section 4.5.1).Note: The reference electrolyte must not be topped up withthe electrode installed.

2. Top up reference electrolyte to the “Refill” mark on the elec-trode.Important! Never exceed the maximum fill level.

3. Re-install electrode (see Section 4.2.5).

Do not allow spillage of reference electrolyte to remain in thehousing. Wash out and dry the housing.

6.3 Conversion of InTrac® SLM to InTrac® SLP/SLR

The manually operated version of the InTrac® SLM can be con-verted to a pneumatically operated version, but to avoid errors,the conversion of the housing has to be done by the manufac-turer.

Please contact your nearest dealer or Mettler-Toledo organisati-on.



6.4 Conversion of InTrac® 777-SL to InTrac® 776-SL(for pH/redox electrodes only)

To carry out the conversion, proceed as follows:


2. Remove the housing from its working location (see Section4.5.2).

3. Unscrew the protective sleeve and disconnect the electrodecable.

4. Remove the electrode.

5. Screw the adapter Order No. 52400857 for liquid-filled elec-trodes onto the top end of the immersion tube. Secure witha set screw.

6. Insert an electrode of the liquid electrolyte type as in Section4.2.5.

7. The housing is now ready for installation.

6.5 Replacing seals in contact with the process medium

All seals which come into contact with the process mediumshould always be replaced at least once a year for reasonsof safety. With corrosive media, the seals may need to be chan-ged at correspondingly shorter intervals.

Warning!

– Retractable housings may only be stripped down after havingbeen completely dismounted.

– Only perform the dismantling work described in this Sectionand replace only the seals (O-rings/scraper ring) shown inthe figure above. Check the quality of the seals and exami-ne for possible damage. Ensure correct positioning.

– Ensure the use of seals of the correct quality (see Section 8).

To replace the seals, proceed as follows:


2. Remove electrode/sensor from the housing (see Section4.5.1) and store it as described in the electrode/sensor ope-rating instructions.

3. Remove the housing from the vessel (see Section 4.5.2) andplace it on a clean working surface.Warning! Never place the housing on the front end of theimmersion tube or the centering spigot (risk of damage).

4. Unscrew the 4 screws of the lock chamber fastening andcarefully remove lock chamber from guide tube by tapping itlightly with a plastic hammer.

5. Remove the indicated seals from the lock chamber and theimmersion tube with a thin hook (see fig. below). Ensure thatyou do not scratch the contact surface.

6. Lightly grease new O-rings (set of seals) with lab grease! Important! No grease my be applied to the O-ring “1” inthe immersion tube as there is a danger that grease couldadhere to the electrode/sensor tip when the electrode/sensoris reinstalled and have adverse effects on its function.

7. Carefully insert O-rings “1” (immersion tube) and “3” (cen-tering spigot), and O-rings “2” (lock chamber) using theassembly mandrel (Order No. 90 770 1790).

8. Check the O-ring on the centering spigot of the lock cham-ber and replace if necessary. Lightly smear O-ring with labgrease.

9. Carefully push lock chamber over immersion tube. Alignpositioning pin of the lock chamber with the hole in the guidetube and guides of the immersion tube piston with the cor-responding holes in the lock chamber.

10.Mount lock chamber on guide tube and press in (resistanceof the O-ring must be overcome). Finally, fasten with the 4-fastener screws previously removed.

For further installation work (attachment to vessel, connectionof pneumatic and rinsing water systems, etc.) see Section 4.2“Fitting and installation work”.

1. Einleitung

Diese Betriebsanleitung enthält alle Angaben, um die Wech-selarmaturen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac® 776-SL sicher undsachgerecht einzusetzen.

Die Betriebsanleitung richtet sich an das mit der Bedienung undder Instandhaltung der Wechselarmaturen betraute Personal. Eswird vorausgesetzt, dass diese Personen Kenntnisse der Anla-ge besitzen, in der die Wechselarmatur eingebaut ist.

Die Wechselarmaturen sind nach dem heutigen Stand der Tech-nik und den zur Zeit anerkannten sicherheitstechnischen Regelngebaut (Mettler Toledo GmbH als Hersteller ist nach ISO 9001/EN29001 zertifiziert). Dennoch können bei unsachgemässerAnwendung Gefahren für den Anwender oder Dritte und/oderBeeinträchtigungen der Anlage und anderer Sachwerte entste-hen. Die Betriebsanleitung muss deshalb vor Beginn von Arbei-ten an der Wechselarmatur von den betreffenden Personen ge-lesen und verstanden werden.

In Ergänzung zu dieser Betriebsanleitung beachten Sie bitte:

– Alle lokalen Sicherheitsvorschriften betreffend die Ausführungvon Pneumatik- und Wasserinstallationen.

– Alle Hinweise und Warnvermerke in den Publikationen zuden Produkten, die zusammen mit der Wechselarmatur ver-wendet werden (Elektroden/Sensoren, Steuerung, etc.).

– Alle Sicherheitsvorschriften der Anlage, in die die Wechsel-armatur eingebaut wird.

– Alle Hinweise und Warnungen, die an der Wechselarmaturangebracht sind.



2. Wichtige Hinweise

Bitte lesen Sie dieses Kapitel sorgfältig durch. Sie finden darineine Vielzahl von Hinweisen, die zu einem sicheren und sach-gerechten Einsatz der Wechselarmatur beitragen.

2.1 Kontrolle der Lieferung

Überprüfen Sie bei Erhalt der Lieferung:

– Die Wechselarmatur und Zubehör auf Transportschäden. All-fällige Schäden melden Sie umgehend dem Transportunter-nehmen und Ihrem Lieferanten.

– Die Typenangabe auf dem Armaturgehäuse.

– Den Lieferumfang auf Vollständigkeit. Unvollständige oderfalsche Lieferungen melden Sie bitte umgehend Ihrem Liefe-ranten (siehe Kapitel 8.1 “Standard-Lieferumfang”).

2.2 Hinweise zur Betriebsanleitung

Abgrenzung

Die Ausführungen in dieser Betriebsanleitung beschränken sichauf die Wechselarmaturen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac® 776-SLin ihren verschiedenen Ausführungen.

Ausführliche Angaben zu den Elektroden/Sensoren und der Anla-ge in der die Wechselarmatur eingebaut wird, sind nicht Be-standteil dieser Anleitung. Solche Angaben finden sich in den se-paraten Dokumentationen zu diesen Produkten. Wo nötig findensich in dieser Anleitung entsprechende Querverweise auf solchePublikationen.

Vereinbarungen

Dieses Piktogramm kennzeichnet Sicherheits- und Gefahren-hinweise, deren Missachtung zu Personen und/oder Sach-schäden führen kann.

Aufbewahrung

Bitte bewahren Sie die Betriebsanleitung an einem sicheren Ortauf, wo sie jederzeit zur Hand ist.

Bei Verlust der Anleitung wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Lieferan-ten.

2.3 Bestimmungsgemässe Verwendung

Die Wechselarmaturen sind ausschliesslich zur Messung mitden spezifizierten METTLER TOLEDO Elektroden/Sensoren be-stimmt, nämlich pH- und Redox-Einstabmessketten mitSteckkopf sowie O2-, Leitfähigkeits- und Trübungs-Sensoren.

Verwenden Sie die Wechselarmaturen ausschliesslich für diesenZweck. Eine andere oder darüber hinausgehende Benutzung giltals nicht bestimmungsgemäss. Für hieraus resultierendeSchäden haftet der Hersteller/Lieferant nicht. Das Risiko trägtallein der Anwender.

Zur bestimmungsgemässen Verwendung gehören zudem:

– Die Beachtung der Anweisungen, Vorschriften und Hinweisein der vorliegenden Betriebsanleitung zu den Wechselarma-turen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac ®776-SL.

– Die Einhaltung der vorgeschriebenen Inspektions- und War-tungsintervalle.

– Die korrekte Instandhaltung der Wechselarmatur.

– Der Betrieb unter Beachtung der vorgeschriebenen Umwelt-und Betriebsbedingungen (siehe Kapitel 8.2) und den zuläs-sigen Einbaulagen.

2.4 Sicherheitshinweise

– Die Wechselarmaturen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac® 776-SLdürfen nur von Personen installiert, bedient, gewartet undallenfalls repariert werden, die mit diesen Produkten vertrautund für solche Arbeiten qualifiziert sind. Es ist Sache desKunden, dafür zu sorgen, dass:– Nur geschultes und dazu befugtes Personal mit den

Wechselarmaturen arbeitet.– Die Betriebsanleitung um betriebsinterne Anweisungen

bezüglich Aufsichts- und Meldepflicht, Arbeitsorganisa-tion, Personalqualifikation etc. ergänzt wird.

– Achten Sie darauf, dass die Armatur und die Dichtungenbetreffend Materialbeständigkeit den Prozessanforderungenund den eingesetzten (Kessel-) Reinigungslösungen genü-gen (siehe Kapitel 8.2 “Technische Daten”). Nehmen Sie imZweifelsfall mit Ihrem Lieferanten Kontakt auf.

– Vor jeder Inbetriebnahme ist die Wechselarmatur zu prüfenauf:– Beschädigung der Anschlüsse, Befestigung, etc.– Leckage– Defekte Kabel

Eine defekte Wechselarmatur darf weder montiert noch inBetrieb genommen werden.



– Wenn anzunehmen ist, dass ein gefahrloser Betrieb nichtmehr möglich ist (z.B. beschädigte Armatur, undichte An-schlüsse, etc.), so ist die Wechselarmatur und die Anlage inder die Wechselarmatur eingebaut ist, ausser Betrieb zu set-zen und gegen unabsichtlichen Betrieb zu sichern.

– Bevor Sie Unterhaltsarbeiten an der Armatur ausführen, bzw.einen Ausbau derselben vornehmen, bringen Sie die Anlage,in der die Wechselarmatur eingebaut ist, in einen gefahrlo-sen Zustand (drucklos machen, entleeren, spülen, entlüften,ventilieren, etc.). Das Zerlegen der Armatur darf nur im aus-gebauten Zustand erfolgen.

– An den Wechselarmaturen dürfen nur Wartungs- und Re-paraturarbeiten durchgeführt werden, die in dieser Be-triebsanleitung beschrieben sind.

– In der Messposition dürfen keine Wartungs- und Repa-raturarbeiten durchgeführt werden.

– Für den Austausch von defekten Komponenten dürfen aus-schliesslich nur Originalersatzteile von METTLER TOLEDOverwendet werden (siehe Kapitel 8.3 “Ersatzteilliste”).

– An den Wechselarmaturen und den Zubehörteilen dürfenkeine An- und Umbauten vorgenommen werden. Für Schä-den aufgrund von unerlaubten An- und Umbauten oder beider Verwendung von nicht-Original-Ersatzteilen haftet derHersteller/Lieferant nicht. Das Risiko trägt allein der Anwen-der.

– Bei Ausfall der Druckluftversorgung kann der Prozessdruckdie Armatur in die Wartungsposition drücken. Das Mess- Sig-nal wird in der Folge verfälscht, da die Elektrode/Sensor nichtmehr im Prozessmedium misst. Betriebsseitig sollte deshalbeine automatische Überwachung der Druckluftversorgungvorhanden sein!Hinweis: Ein elektrischer Ausfall hat keine direkte Aus-wirkung auf die Armatur. Ein Stromausfall hat jedoch zur fol-ge, dass das Mess-Signal vom Transmitter nicht mehr aus-gewertet wird.



3. Allgemeine Produktebeschreibung

3.1 Produkteübersicht

Die Wechselarmaturen sind in unterschiedlichen Versionenerhältlich, basierend auf:

– Eintauchlängen (“H”)70 mm, 100 mm und 200 mm

– Mediumberührten Materialienrostfreier Stahl DIN 1.4435, PVDF, PVC

– Mediumberührten Dichtungsmaterialien (O-Ringe)VITON® FDA und KALREZ®

Aus der Typenbezeichnung der Armatur ist ersichtlich, um wel-che Ausführung es sich bei Ihrer Armatur handelt.

3.2 Aufbau der Wechselarmaturen

Die Wechselarmaturen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac® 776-SLunterscheiden sich im verwendbaren Elektrodentyp:

– InTrac® 777-SL ohne Druckkompensation:In dieser Wechselarmatur können nur Elektroden mit verfe-stigtem oder Gel-Elektrolyt, 12 mm O2-Sensoren, 12 mmLeitfähigkeits- oder Trübungs-Sensoren eingesetzt werden. (Bsp. pH-Elektrode HA405-DXK-S8, HA405-DPA-SC-S8)

– InTrac® 776-SL mit Druckkompensation:In dieser Wechselarmatur können nur pH-/Redox-Elektro-den mit flüssigem Elektrolyt eingesetzt werden.(Bsp. pH-Elektrode HA465-50-EQ-T-S7)



3.2.1 Betriebsarten der Wechsearmaturen

Beide Versionen der Wechselarmatur InTrac® 776-SL und In-Trac® 777-SL sind jeweils in drei verschiedenen Betriebsartenerhältlich:

3.3 Funktionsbeschreibung

Mit den Wechselarmaturen InTrac® 777-SL und InTrac® 776-SL können Elektroden/Sensoren ohne Unterbrechung des laufen-den Prozesses gereinigt oder ausgetauscht werden. Zusätzlichist es möglich, das Messsystem bei eingebauter Elektrode/Sen-sor zu kalibrieren (mit Hilfe entsprechender Zusatzausrüstung).

3.3.1 Funtionsbeschreibung: Manuelle Armaturen



Bei manuellem Betrieb wird das Tauchrohr nach Betätigung desVerriegelungsstiftes “B” von Hand in die gewünschte Endposition(“Messposition” oder “Wartungsposition”) gebracht. Um die Ar-matur zu entriegeln wird am roten Knopf des Verriegelungsstif-tes “B” gezogen. Mit dem aufgeschraubten Griff wird das Tauch-rohr in die Mess- oder in die Wartungsposition bewegt.

Wichtig: Die Armaturen sind mit einem Sensornachweis aus-gerüstet. Wenn keine Elektrode/Sensor eingebaut ist, lässt sichdie Armatur nicht entriegeln und wird somit blockiert.

Messposition manuelle Versionen

In der Messposition ist das Tauchrohr ganz eingefah-ren. Durch die Schlitze am Ende des Tauchrohrs strömtdas Messmedium an der Elektroden-/Sensorspitze vor-bei. O-Ringe dichten die Armatur gegen das Mes-smedium vollständig ab.

In der Messposition muss der Verriegelungsstift in dieNute des Tauchrores einrasten. Der Positionierstift “A”muss zusätzlich in die Ausnahme des Griffes. Dieswird erreicht durch Drehen des Tauchrohrs im Uhrzei-gersinn bis Positionierstift “A” einrastert.

Wartungsposition manuelle Versionen

In dieser Position kann die Elektrode/Sensor gereinigt,ausgebaut oder das Messsystem bei eingebauter Elek-trode/Sensor kalibriert werden. O-Ringe dichten die Ar-matur gegen das Messmedium ab.

In der Wartungsposition muss der Verriegelungsstift“B” in das Loch des Kolbens einrasten. Dies wird durchdrehen des Tauchrohrs im Uhrzeigersinn erreicht.

3.3.2 Funtionsbeschreibung: Pneumatische Armaturen


– InTrac® 777-SLR, InTrac® 776-SLR(pneumatische Versionen mit Rückmeldung)

Über die Steuerluftanschlüsse wird der Kolben des Tauchrohresentweder von oben oder von unten mit Druckluft beaufschlagt.Dadurch wird das Tauchrohr und damit die Elektrode/Sensornach unten (Messposition) oder nach oben (Wartungsposition)bewegt. Der Kolben bleibt in der jeweiligen Endlage mit Druck-luft beaufschlagt.

Bei den Versionen mit Rückmeldung (InTrac® 777-SLR, InTrac®

776-SLR) wird in der jeweiligen Endlage ein pneumatisches Sig-nal ausgelöst. Dieses Signal dient zur Fernanzeige der Mess-und Wartungsposition (Fernanzeige im Lieferumfang nicht ent-halten).

Messposition pneumatische Versionen

In der Messposition ist der Tauchrohrkolbenvon oben mit Druckluft beaufschlagt. Durch dieSchlitze im Tauchrohr strömt das Messmediuman der Elektroden-/Sensorspitze vorbei.O-Ringe dichten die Armatur gegen das Mes-smedium ab.

Wartungsposition pneumatische Versionen

In der Wartungsposition ist der Tauchrohrkol-ben von unten mit Druckluft beaufschlagt. Indieser Position kann die Elektrode/Sensor ge-reinigt, ausgebaut oder das Messsystem beieingebauter Elektrode/Sensor kalibriert werden.O-Ringe dichten die Armatur gegen das Mes-smedium ab.

Die Armaturen sind mit einem pneumatischenSensornachweis ausgerüstet. Wird die Elektro-de/Sensor nicht oder schlecht eingebaut, fährtdie Armatur nicht in die Messposition.



4. Installation/In- und Ausserbetriebnahme

4.1 Anlage vorbereiten

Die Wechselarmaturen werden mit einer Überwurfmutter aneinen Einschweissstutzen, mit einen Flanschanschluss an einenBehälter (Reaktor, Kessel, Rohrleitung, etc.), oder mit dem1" MNPT Aussengewinde montiert.

Das Anbringen des Einschweissstutzens, des Flanschanschlus-ses oder des 1" Gewinde ist Sache des Kunden.

Hinweis: Einschweissstutzen G 1 1/4" (Innen-ø = 25 mm,L = 40 mm, gerade oder 15° angeschrägt) sind bei Ihrem Lie-feranten in verschiedenen Materialausführungen erhältlich.

Wichtig! Nach dem Schweissen ist die Bohrung des Ein-schweissstutzens zu prüfen und falls nötig mit einer Reibahleauf das Mass 25-H7 auszureiben.

Um die korrekte Funktion der Wechselarmatur zu gewährleisten,beachten Sie bitte die folgenden Hinweise für die Plazierung:

– Die Wechselarmatur kann senkrecht oder schräg eingebautwerden. Bei schrägem Einbau ist der Winkel zwischen derArmatur und der Horizontalen, grösser oder gleich 15° ein-zuhalten (siehe folgende Abbildung).

Achtung! Ein Einbau der Wechselarmaturen ausserhalb derzulässigen Einbaulagen ist nicht erlaubt, da in diesen Stellun-gen die Funktion der Elektroden/Sensoren nicht mehr gewährlei-stet ist.



– Die Wechselarmatur soll so montiert werden, dass genügendPlatz für deren korrekte Funktion (korrekte Messposition imMedium) und die Wartung (Kontrollarbeiten, Ein- und Aus-bau der Elektroden/Sensoren) vorhanden ist. Abhängig vomjeweiligen Armaturen-Typ sind folgende Masse zu berück-sichtigen:

– Die Montage der Wechselarmatur an exponierten Stellen istzu vermeiden. Ist dies nicht möglich, müssen zum Schutzvor Beschädigung entsprechende Massnahmen getroffenwerden.




4.2 Einbau- und Installationsarbeiten

Achtung! Für alle nachfolgend beschriebenen Installationsarbei-ten muss die Anlage, in die die Armatur eingebaut wird, in einemgefahrlosen Zustand sein (drucklos, entleert, gespült, entlüftet,etc.).

4.2.1 Einbau der Armatur

Achtung! Stellen Sie die Armatur nie auf die Stirnflächen des Zen-trierzapfens und des Tauchrohres (Beschädigungsgefahr).Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Armatur auf den richtigen, dafür vor-gesehenen Stutzen bzw. Flansch gemäss Vorschrift montiertwird.

Stutzenmontage

1. Zentrierzapfen der Wechselarmatur und Bohrung des Ein-schweissstutzens (25-H7) reinigen und auf Beschädigun-gen prüfen.Achtung! Der Einbau der Wechselarmatur mit einem beschä-digten Zentrierzapfen bzw. der Einbau der Wechselarmaturin einen beschädigten Einschweissstutzen ist unzulässigund kann zu Personen-und/oder Sachschäden führen.

2. Behälter überprüfen, ob in der Eintauchrichtung keine Hin-dernisse vorhanden sind, die das Ein- und Ausfahren desTauchrohres behindern könnten.

3. O-Ring am Zentrierzapfen auf Vorhandensein und Beschä-digung prüfen und falls nötig ersetzen. O-Ring anschliessendmit Gleitfett einstreichen. Achten Sie auf die richtige Qualitätund Einbaulage des O-Ringes.

4. Armatur auf Einschweissstutzen aufsetzen und Zentrierungvorsichtig in Bohrung einführen.

5. Anschliessend Überwurfmutter gut von Hand anziehen.Wichtig! Verwenden Sie keine Werkzeuge (die Dichtung zwi-schen Armatur und Stutzen erfolgt mit dem O-Ring am Zen-trierzapfen).

Einbau Flanschmontage

1. Dichtflächen der Flansche (Armatur und Flanschanschlussam Behälter) reinigen und auf Beschädigung prüfen.Achtung! Bei als gefährlich eingestuften Reaktionsmassensollen unbedingt eingelegte Flanschdichtungen und/odereine Spritzschutz verwendet werden. Der Einbau der Wech-selarmatur mit beschädigten Flanschanschlüssen istunzulässig und kann zu Personen-und/oder Sachschädenführen.

2. Passende Flanschdichtung auf Beschädigung prüfen undfalls nötig ersetzen.



Gilt nur für Armaturen aus Speziallegierungen:TEFLON®-Dichtung am Flansch der Wechselarmatur auf Vor-handensein und Beschädigung prüfen und falls nötig erset-zen. Achten Sie auf die richtige Qualität und Einbaulage derTEFLON®-Dichtung.

3. Behälter prüfen, ob in Eintauchrichtung keine Hindernissevorhanden sind, die das Ein- und Ausfahren des Tauchrohresbehindern könnten.

4. Armatur auf Flanschanschluss aufsetzen, ausrichten und mit4 Sechskantschrauben und Muttern gleichmässig über Kreuzfestziehen.

Einbau MNPT 1" Aussengewinde

1. Aussengewinde mit Teflonband umwickeln.

2. Armatur vorsichtig in Innengewinde einschrauben.

3. Installation auf Dichtigkeit prüfen.

– Beim Ausfahren der Elektrode/Sensor bleiben an der Elektro-den-/Sensorspitze geringe Mengen des Prozessmediumshängen, das beim Spülvorgang in die Ablaufleitung gelingt.Falls es sich beim Prozessmedium um umweltschädigendeSubstanzen (giftig, ätzend, etc.) handelt, sind unbedingtlokale Vorschriften betreffend der Ausführung von Abwasser-Installationen zu beachten.

– Verwenden Sie für die Erstellung der Spülwasserinstallationausschliesslich korrosionsbeständiges und chemikalienre-sistentes Material.



Auswirkungen der Zwischenposition der Versionen mit Einbaulänge H = 70 mm

Beim Ein- und Ausfahren der Armatur sowie wenn der bewegli-che Auszug zwischen den beiden definierten Endpositionen EINoder AUS stehen bleibt, kann Prozessgut via Spülkammer undSpülleitungen austreten. Das ausfliessende Prozessgut kann fürMensch, Umwelt und Einrichtungen gefährlich sein.

Empfehlung für sinngemässe Funktion und sicheren Gebrauch

Alle Spülleitungen müssen mit Absperrventilen ausgerüstet sein.Diese Ventile dürfen nur im zurückgezogenem Zustand (War-tungsposition) geöffnet werden. Nach erfolgter Wartung der Sen-soren müssen die Ventile wieder geschlossen werden.

Basisinstallation

Die Basisinstallation dient zur Reinigung der Elektroden/Senso-ren, wenn die Armatur in der Wartungsposition ist.

– Zulauf:

Die Zulaufleitung wird über einen entsprechenden Absperr-mechanismus mit dem Spülwassereintritt “A” (G 1/8") derArmatur verbunden.

Der zulässige Wasserdruck beträgt: 2 bar

– Ablauf:

Für den Wasserablauf wird der Spülwasseraustritt “B”(G 1/4") mit einer gebäudeseitigen Abwasserleitung ver-bunden (lokale Vorschriften beachten).

Wichtig! Der Wasserablauf sollte etwas höher liegen als derZulauf, damit die Spülkammer auch bei geschlossenemZulauf immer mit Wasser oder Pufferlösung gefüllt ist undeine pH-Elektrode somit nicht austrocknet. Falls nötig errei-chen Sie dies durch eine geeignete Wegführung (zuerst nachoben) der Ablaufleitung.

Installation für die Kalibrierung des Messsystems mit einge-bauter Elektrode/Sensor

Soll das Messsystem mit eingebauter Elektrode/Sensor gereinigtoder kalibriert werden, wird anstelle der Zulaufleitung ein Vertei-lerstück mit 3 Anschlüssen am Anschluss (G 1/8") der Armaturangebracht.

Verbinden Sie die 3 Anschlüsse ge-mäss dem nachfolgenden Schema:

• Anschluss “A” über ein Absperr-ventil mit der Spülwasserzufüh-rung.

• Anschlüsse “B” und “C” über jeein Rückschlagventil mit der ent-sprechenden Pufferlösungs-Zu-führung.

4.2.3 Pneumatik-Verbindungen

Für den Betrieb der pneumatischen Armaturen sind die Anschlüs-se an “1” und “2” anzuschliessen.

Achtung! Es dürfen nur die ausgelieferten Original-Verschrau-bungen verwendet werden

– Der zulässige Betriebsdruck des Pneumatiksystems beträgt8 bar.

– Der Druck der Steuerluft zur Armatur muss 4 bar sein.

– Die Steuerluft muss ölfrei und gefiltert sein.

4.2.4 Temperatursensor einsetzen

Beim Kalibrieren des Messsystems muss mit Ausnahme des Trü-bungssensors die Temperatur der Elektrode/Sensor berücksich-tigt werden. Dazu wird ein Temperatursensor mit dem Messver-stärker verbunden.

Zur automatischen Temperaturkompensation beim Kalibrierendes Messsystems mit eingebauter Elektrode/Sensor kann einTemperatursensor (Pt100/Pt1000) direkt in die Spülkammereingebaut werden.

Für den Einbau gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

1. Blindstopfen (G 1/8") entfernen.

2. Temperatursensor (Pt100/Pt1000) mit Dichtring einschrau-ben und mit Gabelschlüssel festziehen.

3. Temperatursensor mit dem entsprechenden Eingang amMessverstärker verbinden.

4.2.5 Elektrode/Sensor einbauen

Wechselarmatur InTrac® 777-SL

1. Armatur in Position “Wartung” fahren.

2. Kabelknickschutz-Verschraubung “2”lösen.

3. Schutzgriff “3” abschrauben.

4. Prüfen, ob der richtige Elektroden-/Sensortyp gewählt wurde (sieheKapitel 9 “Anhang”).

5. Elektrode/Sensor auf Beschädigungprüfen (z.B. Elektrodenbruch).

Achtung! Eine beschädigteElektrode/Sensor darf nieeingebaut werden.

6. Gleitscheiben und O-Ringe an Elek-troden/Sensoren auf Beschädigungprüfen und falls nötig ersetzen.

7. Wässerungskappe an der Elektroden-/Sensorspitze entfernen und Elektro-de/Sensor mit Wasser spülen.

8. Elektrode/Sensor vorsichtig in dasTauchrohr einführen und von Handbis zum Anschlag einschrauben.

Wichtig! Auf keinen Fall Werkzeu-ge benutzen.

9. Verschlusskappe des Koaxanschlus-ses an der Elektrode/Sensor entfer-nen.

10.Anschlusskabel durch die Kabel-knickschutz-Verschraubung “2” undden Schutzgriff “3” führen und Steckeran der Elektrode/Sensor anschlies-sen.

11.Schutzgriff “3” aufsetzen und vonHand festziehen und anschliessendKabelknickschutz-Verschraubung “2”wieder anziehen.

Achtung! Eine falsche Reihenfolge beim Anziehen der Über-wurfmutter “5” und des Kunststoffadapters “4” kann zum Bruchder pH-/Redox-Elektrode führen. Der nachfolgend beschriebe-ne Ablauf ist deshalb unbedingt einzuhalten.


2. Kabelknickschutz-Verschraubung “2”lösen.

3. Schutzhülse “3”, Kunststoffadapter“4” und anschliessend Überwurfmut-ter “5” entfernen.

4. Prüfen, ob der richtige pH-/Redox-Elektrodentyp gewählt wurde (sieheKapitel 9 “Anhang”).

5. Elektrode auf Beschädigung prüfen.

Achtung! Eine beschädigteElektrode darf nie einge-baut werden.

6. Wässerungskappe an der Elektroden-spitze, Einfüllstopfen und Gummi-band entfernen. Anschliessend Elek-trode mit Wasser spülen.Wichtig! Nach dem Entfernen des Ein-füllstopfens Elektrode nicht mehr kip-pen, da sonst Bezugselektrolyt überdie Einfüllöffnung auslaufen kann.

7. Füllstand des Bezugselektrolyten inder Elektrode prüfen und falls nötignachfüllen (siehe Bedienungsanlei-tung zur entsprechenden Elektrode).

8. Elektrode vorsichtig in das Tauchrohr einführen, bis sie aufdem TEFLON® Sattel aufliegt.Wichtig! Bei schrägem Einbau darauf achten, dass dieBezeichnung “Position electrode this side up” oben ist. Indieser Lage kann bei korrektem Füllstand kein Bezugselek-trolyt über die Einfüllöffnung auslaufen.

9. Flachdichtung “6” des Oberteils auf Beschädigung prüfenund falls nötig ersetzen. Oberteil aufsetzen und Überwurf-mutter “5” von Hand festziehen.Achtung! Überwurfmutter “5” des Oberteils darf nur mit ent-ferntem Kunststoffadapter “4” angezogen werden.

10.Dichtung des Kunststoffadapters “4” kontrollieren und fallsnötig ersetzen. Kunststoffadapter aufsetzen und von Handfestziehen.

11.Verschlusskappe des Stecker-Anschlusses an der Elektrodeentfernen.

14.Kompensationsdruck einstellen:

Der Kompensationsdruck kann mit einer Fahrradpumpe überden Ventileinsatz am Manometer eingestellt oder durch An-schliessen einer permanenten ölfreien und gefilterten Druck-luftversorgung (Druckanschluss-Set, im Lieferumfang ent-halten) realisiert werden.

Hinweis: Damit der Elektrolytfluss von der Bezugselektrodezum Messmedium gewährleistet ist, muss der Luftdruck imOberteil mindestens 0.5 bar und maximal 2 bar über demdes Messmediums liegen (hydrostatischen Druck des Mess-mediums berücksichtigen).

4.3 Inbetriebnahme Armatur

4.3.1 Inbetriebnahme der manuellen Armatur

Für die Inbetriebnahme müssen sämtliche Einbau- und In-stallationsarbeiten (siehe Kapitel 4.2) abgeschlossen sein!Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Inbetriebnahme das Messsystem. Über-prüfen Sie dabei die Messkette und die Dichtheit von Armaturund Anlage (siehe auch Kapitel 7). Beginnen Sie mit der Inbe-triebnahme erst, nachdem die Kontrolle des Messsystems erfolgtist und allfällige Mängel behoben wurden.

Für die Inbetriebnahme gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

1. Ziehen Sie am roten Knopf des Verrie-gelungsstifts, um die Arretierung desTauchrohrs freizugeben.

2. Drücken Sie das Tauchrohr vorsichtigin die Messposition. Das Tauchrohrmuss am unteren Anschlag ein-klicken (InTrac® 777-SLM). Wennder Schutzgriff am Positionierstift “A”ansteht, muss das Tauchrohr im Uhr-zeigersinn gedreht werden, bis dieAusnahme im Schutzgriff mit dem Po-sitionierstift “A” übereinstimmt. DasTauchrohr kann nun vollständig in dieMessposition eingefahren werdenund das Einklicken des Verriege-lungsstiftes ist akustisch wahrnehm-bar.

4.3.2 Inbetriebnahme der pneumatischen Armatur

Für die Inbetriebnahme müssen sämtliche Einbau- und In-stallationsarbeiten (siehe Kapitel 4.2) abgeschlossen sein!Überprüfen Sie vor jeder Inbetriebnahme das Messsystem. Über-prüfen Sie dabei die Messkette und die Dichtheit von Armaturund Anlage (siehe auch Kapitel 7). Beginnen Sie mit der Inbe-triebnahme erst, nachdem die Kontrolle des Messsystems erfolgtist und allfällige Mängel behoben wurden.

Für die Inbetriebnahme gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

1. Luftzufuhr zum Steuerluftsystem öffnen. Überprüfen Sie:– die Ein- und Ausfahrbewegung des Tauchrohres, sowie

die Rückmeldung der jeweiligen Endpositionen.– das Steuerluftsystem auf Dichtigkeit. Undichte Verbin-

dungen umgehend abdichten.

2. Tauchrohr in Stellung “Wartung” fahren und Spülwasser-zufuhr (2 bar) öffnen. Spülwassersystem auf Dichtigkeit prü-fen. Undichte Verbindungen umgehend abdichten.

3. Falls das System für die Kalibrierung des Messsystems aus-gerüstet ist, fahren Sie die Armatur in die Position “Wartung”und führen eine Kalibrierung durch (siehe Kapitel 5.4).Dabei überprüfen Sie:– den korrekten Ablauf der Kalibrierung.– die Pufferlösungssysteme auf Dichtigkeit. Undichte Ver-

bindungen umgehend abdichten.

Sind alle Funktionskontrollen erfolgreich durchgeführt, kann dieAnlage mit der eingebauten Wechselarmatur in Betrieb genom-men werden.

Achtung! Nach der Inbetriebnahme der Anlage ist bei Manipu-lationen an der Wechselarmatur besondere Vorsicht geboten.Beachten Sie deshalb unbedingt die Hinweise im Kapitel 5.1.



4.4 Ausserbetriebnahme von manuellen und pneumatischen Armaturen

Achtung! Bei manuellen Armaturen (z.B. InTrac® 777-SL) mussder Verriegelungsstift “B” in das Loch des Kolbens einrasten.Dies wird durch drehen des Tauchrohrs im Uhrzeigersinn er-reicht.


2. Spülwasserzufuhr öffnen, Elektrode/Sensor spülen und an-schliessend Spülwasserzufuhr wieder schliessen.

3. Anlage, in der die Armatur eingebaut ist, in einen gefahrlo-sen Zustand bringen (drucklos machen, entleeren, spülen,entlüften, ventilieren, etc.).

4. Steuerluftzufuhr zu Armaturen schliessen.

4.5 Ausbauarbeiten

4.5.1 Ausbau der Elektrode/Sensor

Achtung! Der Aus- und Einbau der Elektroden/Sensoren darfnur in der Position “Wartung” durchgeführt werden.


1. Armatur in Position “Wartung” fahren.Achten Sie darauf, dass der Arretier-stift “B” in der Bohrung des Kolbenseinrastet (siehe Kapitel 3.3.1).

2. Spülwasserzufuhr öffnen, Elektrode/Sensor spülen und anschliessendSpülwasserzufuhr wieder schliessen.

3. Kabelverschraubung “3” lösen

4. Schutzgriff “4” abschrauben.

5. Anschlusskabel von Elektrode/Sensorentfernen.

6. Elektrode/Sensor ausschrauben undvorsichtig aus dem Tauchrohr entfer-nen.

5. Anschlusskabel entfernen.

6. Kunststoff-Adapter “4” lösen und ent-fernen.

7. Überwurfmutter “5” lösen und Oberteil“7” entfernen.

8. Elektrode vorsichtig aus dem Tauch-rohr herausziehen.

Hinweis: Spezifische Angaben zur Elektrode (Abgleich mit demMesssystem, Lagerung der Elektrode, etc.) finden Sie in derDokumentation zur Elektrode bzw. zum Messsystem.

4.5.2 Ausbau der Armatur

1. Armatur ausser Betrieb setzen (siehe Kapitel 4.4).

2. Elektrode/Sensor ausbauen (siehe Kapitel 4.5.1).

3. Spülwasser- und Steuerluftleitungen demontieren.Wichtig! Anschlüsse verschliessen, damit kein Schmutz ein-dringen kann.

4. Überwurfmutter bzw. Flanschverbindung lösen und Armaturvorsichtig ausbauen.

Achtung! Stellen Sie die Armatur nie auf die Stirnflächen des Zen-trierzapfens und des Tauchrohres (Beschädigungsgefahr).

4.6 Verwendung von Kabeln mit BNC-Stecker

Wenn Ihr pH-Kabel mit einem BNC-Stecker bestückt ist, kann dieStandard-Kabelknickschutz-Verschraubung an der Schutzhülsenicht verwendet werden, da der Durchgang für den BNC-Steckerzu eng ist. In diesem Fall schrauben Sie einfach beide Stückeder Kabelknickschutz-Verschraubung (A) ab und setzen dieGummitülle in die Schutzhülse (B) ein.

5. Betrieb

5.1 Wichtige Hinweise zum täglichen Betrieb

– Es darf nie versucht werden, ohne eingebaute Elektrode/Sen-sor, in die Position “Messung” zu fahren, da sonst das Mess-medium über das offene Tauchrohr austreten kann!

– Während dem Betrieb dürfen auf keinen Fall:– die Leitungen des Pneumatiksystems und der Spül- und

Pufferlösungen gelöst werden.– sämtliche Befestigungsschrauben (Flanschbefestigung

Überwurfmutter, etc.) entfernt werden.

– Bei allfälligen Störungen im Betrieb, ist die Anlage in der dieArmatur eingebaut ist, in einen gefahrlosen Betrieb zu brin-gen.

– Für alle Arbeiten im täglichen Betrieb muss die vorgeschrie-bene Schutzkleidung (Schutzbrille, Handschuhe, Atem-schutz, etc.) getragen werden.

5.2 Kontrollarbeiten im täglichen Betrieb

Im täglichen Betrieb sind folgende Kontrollarbeiten durchzu-führen:

• Sämtliche Leitung wie Luft, Spülwasser, Pufferlösungen aufDichtigkeit prüfen.

• Befestigung (Überwurfmutter, Flansch, NPT Gewinde) derArmatur am Behälter auf Festsitz und Dichtigkeit prüfen.

• Zustand der Elektrode/Sensor prüfen. Eine defekte oder be-schädigte Elektrode/Sensor muss sofort ausgewechselt wer-den.

Armaturen mit Druckkompensation (InTrac® 776-SL):

• Ansprechen des Manometers kontrollieren.

• Luftdruck im Oberteil mit Manometer kontrollieren. Der Luft-druck muss mindestens 0.5 bar und maximal 2 bar überdem des Messmediums liegen damit der Elektrolytfluss vonder Bezugselektrode zum Messmedium gewährleistet ist. Derhydrostatische Druck des Messmediums muss berücksich-tigt werden.Hinweis: Der gewünschte Überdruck wird mit einer Fahrrad-pumpe über den Ventileinsatz am Manometer eingestellt oderdurch eine Druckluftversorgung realisiert.

• Niveau des Bezugselektrolyten kontrollieren:Das Niveau des Bezugselektrolyten nimmt ständig ab durchAusfluss am Diaphragma. Ist der Flüssigkeitsspiegel unterdie kolbenförmige Erweiterung der pH-/Redox-Elektrode ab-gesunken, muss Bezugselektrolyt nachgefüllt werden (sieheKapitel 6 “Unterhalt”).



5.3 Reinigen der Elektrode/Sensor

Die Elektrode/Sensor ist vor dem Ausbau, vor der Kalibrierungdes Messsystems oder während dem Betrieb in bestimmtenIntervallen (abhängig vom Prozessmedium) zu reinigen. GehenSie dazu wie folgt vor:

5.4 Kalibrieren des Messsystems

Die Häufigkeit der Kalibrierung des Messsystems ist abhängigvom Elektroden-/Sensortyp und vom Messmedium.

Um das Messsystem zu kalibrieren, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:


2. Spülwasserzufuhr öffnen, Elektrode/Sensor spülen und an-schliessend Spülwasserzufuhr wieder schliessen.

3. Elektrode/Sensor ausbauen (Vorgehen siehe Kapitel 4.5.1).Hinweis: Nur nötig, falls mit Ihrer Installation das Mess-system nicht mit eingebauter Elektrode/Sensor kalibriert wer-den kann.

4. Kalibrierung durchführen, gemäss den Angaben in der Be-dienungsanleitung zur jeweiligen Elektrode/Sensor und zumMesswertverstärker.

5. Elektrode/Sensor einbauen (Vorgehen siehe Kapitel 4.2.5).Hinweis: Nur nötig, falls mit Ihrer Installation das Messsy-stem nicht mit eingebauter Elektrode/Sensor kalibriert wer-den kann.

6. Spülwasserzufuhr öffnen und Elektrode/Sensor spülen. An-schliessend Spülwasserzufuhr wieder schliessen.

7. Armatur in Position “Messen” fahren.



6. Unterhalt

6.1 Wichtige Hinweise zum Unterhalt

Achtung! Wartungs- und Unterhaltsarbeiten an der Armatur dür-fen nur von Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden

An den Wechselarmaturen dürfen nur Unterhalts- und Repara-turarbeiten durchgeführt werden, die in den folgenden Kapitelnbeschrieben sind.

Achtung! Das Prozessmedium kann unter Umständen die Um-welt und Ihre Gesundheit gefährden (giftig, ätzend, etc.). Brin-gen Sie deshalb die Anlage in einen gefahrlosen Zustand, bevorSie mit den Unterhaltsarbeiten beginnen.

6.2 Bezugselektrolyt nachfüllen

Die nachfolgend beschriebenen Arbeiten gelten nur für pH-/Re-dox-Elektroden mit flüssigem Bezugselektrolyt. Um den Bezugs-elektrolyten nachzufüllen, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

1. Elektrode ausbauen (siehe Kapitel 4.5.1).Hinweis: Der Bezugselektrolyt darf nicht bei eingebauterElektrode nachgefüllt werden.

2. Bezugselektrolyt nachfüllen (Elektrolyt-Nr. siehe Aufdruck“Refill” auf der Elektrode).Wichtig! Unbedingt maximale Füllhöhe beachten.

3. Elektrode wieder einbauen (siehe Kapitel 4.2.5).

Elektrolytresten immer sofort aus der Armatur entfernen.Armatur auswaschen und trocknen.

6.3 Umbau der InTrac® SLM auf InTrac® SLP/SLR

Die von Hand betriebene Version der InTrac® SLM kann in einepneumatisch operierende Version umgebaut werden, aber umFehler zu vermeiden, muß die Konvertierung der Armatur durchden Hersteller erfolgen.

Setzen sie sich bitte mit ihrem nächsten Händler oder Mettler-Toledo Organisation in Verbindung.



6.4 Umbau der InTrac® 777-SL auf InTrac® 776-SL(nur für pH- und Redox-Elektroden)

Um den Umbau auszuführen gehen Sie wie folgt vor:


2. Armatur vom Einsatzort demontieren (siehe Kapitel 4.5.2).

3. Schutzgriff von Armatur abschrauben und Kabelverbindungzur Elektrode lösen.

4. Elektrode ausbauen.

5. Adapter 52400857 für Flüssigelektrode auf Tauchrohrober-teil aufschrauben. Mit Gewindestift sichern.

6. Elektrode mit flüssigem Elektrolyt einbauen, gemäss Kapitel4.2.5.

7. Die Armatur ist für den Einbau am Messort bereit.

6.5 Mediumbeaufschlagte Dichtungen ersetzen

Grundsätzlich sollen die mit dem Medium in Berührung kom-menden Dichtungen aus Sicherheitsgründen mindestens ein-mal jährlich ersetzt werden. Bei aggressiven Medien sind dieDichtungen in entsprechend kürzeren Intervallen auszutau-schen.

Achtung!

– Das Zerlegen der Armatur für Wartungs- und Reparaturarbeitdarf nur im ausgebauten Zustand erfolgen.

– Führen Sie ausschliesslich die nachfolgend aufgeführtenAusbauarbeiten aus und ersetzen Sie nur die oben bezeich-neten O-Ringe. Achten Sie auf die richtige Qualität, evtl.Beschädigung und die korrekte Einbaulage der Dichtungen.

– Achten Sie auf die richtige Materialqualität der Dichtungen(siehe Kapital 8).

Um die Dichtungen zu ersetzen, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:


2. Elektrode/Sensor aus der Armatur ausbauen (siehe Kapitel4.5.1) und gemäss den Angaben in der Bedienungsanlei-tung zur Elektrode/Sensor aufbewahren.

3. Armatur vom Behälter demontieren (siehe Kapitel 4.5.2) undauf eine saubere Arbeitsfläche legen.Achtung! Stellen Sie die Armatur nie auf die Stirnflächen desZentrierzapfens und des Tauchrohres (Beschädigungsge-fahr).

6. Neue O-Ringe (Dichtungs-Set) mit Laborfett einfetten.Wichtig! Der O-Ring “1” im Tauchrohr darf nicht einge-fettet werden, da die Gefahr besteht, dass beim Einbau derElektrode Fett an der Elektroden-/Sensorspitze (Diaphragma/Glasmembran) gelangt und die Funktion der Elektrode/Sen-sor beeinträchtigt wird.

10.Spülkammer auf Führungsrohr aufsetzen und mit den 4 Befe-stigungsschrauben festziehen.

1. Introduction

Les présentes Instructions de service donnent les renseigne-ments nécessaires pour assurer une mise en oeuvre correcte dessupports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et InTrac® 776-SL.

Ces Instructions de service s’adressent au personnel en chargede l’utilisation et de la maintenance des supports rétractables,personnel qui est supposé connaître l’installation dans laquellele support rétractable est intégrée.

Les supports rétractables sont construites selon l’état actuel dela technique et correspondent aux règles techniques de sécuritéreconnues (Mettler Toledo GmbH en tant que fabricant est certi-fié ISO 9001/EN29001). Cela n’empêche qu’en cas de faussemanipulation, il puisse se présenter des dangers pour l’opérateurou pour des tiers, ou encore pour l’installation elle-même oud’autre biens corporels. C’est pourquoi les personnes concer-nées doivent d’abord lire et comprendre les Instructions deservice.

Outre les présentes Instructions de service on prendra égalementen compte:

– Toutes les prescriptions de sécurité locales concernant lesinstallations pneumatiques et de distribution d’eau.

– Toutes le remarques et avertissements donnés dans le publi-cations concernant les produits utilisés avec les supports ré-tractables (électrodes, commandes, etc.).

– Toutes les prescriptions de sécurité concernant l’installationsur laquelle les supports rétractables sont installés.

– Toutes les remarques et tous les avertissement inscrits surles supports rétractables.



2. Remarques importantes

Lisez s.v.p. attentivement le présent chapitre. Vous y trouverezun grand nombre de remarques qui contribuent au fonctionne-ment sûr des supports rétractables.

2.1 Contrôle des livraisons

Contrôler comme suit les livraisons à la réception:

– Contrôler si les supports rétractables et les accessoires ontété endommagés lors du transport.Le cas échéant, signaler immédiatement les défectuosités autransporteur et au fournisseur.

– Vérifiez notamment la désignation de type figurant sur lecorps du support.

– Contrôler si les livraisons son complètes. Le cas échéant,signaler immédiatement les pièces manquantes au fournis-seur (voir chapitre 8.1 “Livraisons standard”).

2.2 Remarques concernant les Instructions de service

Délimitation

Les présentes Instructions de service se limitent aux différentesversions des supports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et InTrac®

776-SL.

Les détails sur les électrodes, la commande des supports et del’installation pour lesquelles ils sont utilisés, ne font pas l’objetdes présentes Instructions de service. On trouvera les renseig-nements correspondants dans la documentation spéciale. Aubesoin, il est cependant fait référence à ces publications dansles présentes Instructions de service.

2.3 Utilisation appropriée

Les supports rétractables doivent être utilisés exclusivementpour des mesures avec des sondes METTLER TOLEDO spéci-fiées (électrodes pH et redox, sondes O2, sondes de conduc-tivité, sondes de turbidité).

Ne les employer à aucune autre fin. Toute utilisation différenteou dépassant ces limites sera considérée comme utilisation nonappropriée pour laquelle le fabricant ou le fournisseur décli-nera toute responsabilité. Dans tel cas, l’utilisateur devraassumer lui-même tous les risques.

L’utilisation conforme suppose en outre:

– Le respect de toutes les consignes, prescriptions et remar-ques contenues dans les présentes Instructions de serviceconcernant les supports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et In-Trac® 776-SL.

– Le respect des intervalles d’inspection et de maintenanceprescrits.

– Un entretien correct des supports rétractables.

– L’utilisation des supports rétractables dans les conditionsd’environnement et de service prescrites et leur installationdans les positions admises (voir chapitre 8.2).

2.4 Remarques concernant la sécurité

– Les supports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et InTrac® 776-SL ne doivent être installés, entretenus et, le cas échéant,réparés que par des personnes qui connaissent ces produitset qui sont qualifiées pour ce genre de travaux. Il incombeau client:– de veiller à ce que seules des personnes autorisées tra-

vaillent avec les supports rétractables.– et de veiller à ce que les Instructions de service soient

complétées par des instructions internes en matière desurveillance, annonce de défectuosité, d’organisation dutravail, de qualification du personnel, etc.

– Veiller à ce que la résistance des matériaux de constructiondes supports rétractables correspondent aux conditions duprocédé en cause et qu’ils soient compatibles avec les solu-tions de nettoyage utilisée (v. chap. 8.2 “Spécifications tech-niques”). Au besoin, prendre contact avec le fournisseur.

– Contrôler le support rétractable comme suit avant chaquemise en service quant à:– des raccordements, fixations, etc., défectueux– fuites– des câbles défectueux

Ne pas mettre en service un support rétractable qui n’estpas en ordre.



– S’il y a lieu de supposer qu’un support rétractable ne peutplus être utilisé sans danger (support défectueux, raccorde-ment et conduites non étanches, etc.) le support et l’instal-lation dans la quelle il est intégré doivent être mises horsservice et protégés contre une mise en service par inad-vertance.

– Avant de procéder à des travaux d’entretien sur le support,mettre l’installation dans laquelle il est incorporée dans unétat neutre (sans pression, vidée, rincée, désaérée, ventilée,etc.).

– Sont seuls permis les travaux d’entretien et de réparati-ons des supports mentionnés dans les présentes Instruc-tions de service.

– Lorsque le support est en position “Mesure”, aucune opéra-tion de maintenance ou de réparation doivent être effectuée.

– Pour remplacer des pièces défectueuses n’utiliser que lespièces de rechange d’origine de votre fournisseur (v. liste depièces de rechange au chap. 8.3).

– Il n’est pas permis de procéder à des modifications dessupports rétractables et à leurs accessoires ou d’y ajouterquoi que ce soit. Le cas échéant, le fabricant ou le fournis-seur déclinerait toute responsabilité; celle-ci incombe uni-quement à l’utilisateur.

– Si l’air comprimé est coupé, la pression du processus peutramener le support en position “Maintenance”. Le signal demesure ne sera alors plus valable étant donné que l’électro-de ne se trouve plus dans le milieu de mesure. Un systèmeautomatique de contrôle de l’air comprimé devrait être in-stallé. Remarque: une coque d’alimentation électrique n’a pas d’in-fluence directe sur le support rétractable. Le signal de mesu-re ne sera alors plus affiché sur le transmetteur.

3.2 Construction des supports rétractables

Les supports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et InTrac® 776-SL sedistinguent en outre par les types d’électrodes/sondes utilisab-les:

– InTrac® 777-SL sans compensation de pression:Avec ce support, on ne peut utiliser que des électrodes avecélectrolyte solide au gélifié, sondes O2 12 mm, sondesde conductivité ou de turbidité 12 mm).(p.ex. eléctrode pH HA405-DXK-S8, HA405-DPAA-S8)

– InTrac® 776-SL avec compensation de pression:Avec cette support, on ne peut utiliser que des électrodes pHet redox à électrolyte liquide.(p.ex. eléctrode pH HA465-50-EQ-T-S7)

3.2.1 Mode d’opération des supports rétractables

3.3 Description des fonctions

Les supports rétractables InTrac® 777-SL et InTrac® 776-SLpermettent de nettoyer ou de remplacer des électrodes/sondessans interrompre le processus en cours et, en outre, d’étalonnerle système de mesure avec l’électrode/sonde à demeure.

3.3.1 Support rétractable manuel



En mode manuel, le tube à immersion est placé en position fina-le désirée (“Mesure” ou “Maintenance”) à la main, après relâ-chement de la goupille “B” en tirant sur le bouton rouge.

Important: Les supports sont équipés d’un système de détec-tion de sonde automatique. Si aucune électrode/sonde est in-stallée, il n’est pas possible de relever la goupille. Le supportreste alors en position bloquée.

Position “Mesure”, version manuelle

En position “Mesure”, le tube à immersion est complè-tement inséré. Le milieu de mesure s’écoule le long del’extrémité du capteur à travers l’ouverture du tube àimmersion.

Les joints toriques garantissent l’étanchéité du supportenvers le milieu.

En position “Mesure”, la goupille de verrouillage “B”doit être bloquée dans la rainure du tube à immersion.De plus, la goupille de position “A” doit s’encastrerdans la cavité, prévu à cet effet, du capuchon protec-teur. Pour ce faire tourner le tube à immersion dans lesens des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu'à ce que la gou-pille s’encastre.

Position “Maintenance”, version manuelle

En position “Maintenance”, l’électrode/sonde peut êtrenettoyée, démontée ou on peut étalonner le systèmede mesure avec l’électrode/sonde en place. Les jointstoriques garantissent l’étanchéité du support envers lemilieu.

En position “Maintenance” la goupille B doit se fermeravec un bruit sec en pénétrant le trou du piston. Cecise fait en tournant le tube à immersion dans le sensdes aiguilles d’une montre.

3.3.2 Support rétractable pneumatique


– InTrac® 777-SLR, InTrac® 776-SLR(Version pneumatique avec indicateur de position)

Le piston du tube à immersion peut être mis sous pression parle haut ou par le bas via les raccords d’air. Ainsi le tube à immer-sion, et donc l’électrode/sonde sont amenés soit en positioninférieure (position “Mesure”), soit en position supérieure (posi-tion “Maintenance”). Dans sa position finale, le piston reste souspression.

Pour les versions équipés d’un indicateur de position (InTrac®

777-SLR, InTrac® 776-SLR), un signal pneumatique est déclen-ché quand le support atteint sa position finale respective (“Mesu-re” ou “Maintenance”). Ce signal est transmis à un indicateur deposition (L’indicateur de position non compris dans la livraison).

Position “Mesure” (version pneumatique)

En position “Mesure” le piston du tube à immer-sion est mis sous pression par le haut. Le mi-lieu de mesure s’écoule le long de l’extrémitéde l’électrode/sonde à travers l’ouverture dutube à immersion.Les joints toriques garantissent l’étanchéité dusupport envers le milieu.

Position “Maintenance” (version pneumati-que)

En position “Maintenance”, le piston du tube àimmersion subit la pression de l’air par le bas.Dans cette position l’électrode/sonde peut êtrenettoyée, démontée ou on peut étalonner le sy-stème de mesure avec l’électrode/sonde en pla-ce. Les joints toriques garantissent l’étanchéitéde la sonde envers le milieu.

Les supports sont équipés d’un système auto-matique de détection de l’électrode/sonde. Siaucune électrode/sonde est en place, ou malinstallée, le support ne pourra pas être mis enposition mesure.



Attention! Le positionnement des supports hors des limites indi-quées n’est pas admissible, car le fonctionnement des électro-des/sondes ne serait plus assuré.

4. Installation, mise en/hors service

4.1 Préparation de l’installation

Les support rétractables se fixent au récipient (réacteur, chau-dière, conduite tubulaire, etc.) par un raccord soudé, par un rac-cord à bride ou par un filetage externe 1" MNPT (mâle). Il incom-be au client d’installer le raccord soudé.

Remarque: Les manchons à souder avec filetage G 1 1/4" (ø-interne= 25 mm, L= 40 mm, droit ou incliné 15°) sont dispo-nibles chez votre fournisseur en différentes matières.

Important! Après la soudure du raccord, côntroler le trou du rac-cord et l’aléser avec un alésoir à la mesure 25-H7, si néces-saire.

Pour assurer le fonctionnement correct du support rétractable,se conformer aux directives suivantes quant à son positionne-ment:

– Le support rétractable s’installe en position verticale ou obli-que. En position oblique, l’angle entre le support et l’hori-zontale doit dépasser 15° (v. fig. ci-dessous).

– Eviter d’installer le support rétractable à des endroits expo-sés; si cela n’est pas possible, prendre des mesures de pro-tection adéquates.




4.2 Travaux de montage et d’installation

Attention! Lors de tous les travaux d’installation décrits ci-après,l’installation sur laquelle le support sera monté, doit se trouverdans un état qui ne présente pas de dangers (sans pression,vide, rincée, purgée).

4.2.1 Montage du support

Attention! Pour éviter de l’endommager, ne jamais poser le sup-port sur les faces frontales du tube à immersion et de la brochede centrage. Assurez-vous que le support soit monté sur le rac-cord adéquat (manchon à souder, ou bride)

Montage sur manchon

1. Nettoyer la broche de centrage du support rétractable etl’intérieur du raccord soudé (25-H7) et vérifier si ces deuxpièces sont intactes.Attention! Il n’est pas admissible d’installer un support ré-tractable avec une broche de centrage endommagée ou d’in-staller un support rétractable sur un raccord soudé défec-tueux, car cela pourrait entraîner des dommages personnelsou matériels.

2. Vérifier que les récipients ne contiennent aucun obstacle quipourrait entraver l’abaissement du tube à immersion.

3. Vérifier que le joint torique de la broche de centrage ne soitpas endommagé; le remplacer au besoin et le graisser légè-rement. Assurez-vous de la qualité et du positionnement cor-rect de ce joint.

4. Placer le support rétractable sur le manchon soudé et intro-duire soigneusement le broche de centrage dans le trou.

5. Bien serrer l’écrou-raccord à la main.Important! Ne pas utiliser d’outils (l’étanchéité entre le sup-port et le raccord est assurée par le joint torique sur la bro-che de centrage).

Montage sur bride

1. Nettoyer les surfaces de contact des brides (support et bridedu récipient) et vérifier se elles sont endommagées.Attention! si le milieu de mesure est considéré comme dan-gereux, alors il est impératif d’étancher correctement l’inter-face bride contre bride. Il n’est pas permis de monter le sup-port avec des brides défectueuses, car cela pourrait entraînerdes dommages personnels et matériels.

2. Utiliser des joints de bride appropriés et vérifier qu’ils soientintacts.

Valable seulement pour les supports rétractables à allia-ges spéciaux:Vérifier si le joint de TEFLON® de la bride du support est in-tact; au besoin le remplacer. Assurez-vous de la qualité etdu positionnement correct de ce joint de TEFLON®.



3. Vérifier que le récipient ne renferme pas d’obstacles qui puis-sent entraver l’abaissement du tube à immersion.

4. Placer le support sur la bride, l’aligner et serrer de façon égaleet “en croix” les vis hexagonales.

Montage avec filetage externe 1" MNPT (mâle)

1. Entourer d’une bande de Téflon le filetage externe (mâle).

2. Avec précaution, visser le support sur le filetage inverse(femelle).

3. Vérifier l’éventuelles présences de fuites.

4.2.2 Branchement des conduites de rinçage

Remarques importantes

– Lors du retrait du capteur, des traces du milieu sous mesu-re adhèrent à la pointe de celui-ci et pénètrent dans la con-duite d’évacuation lors du rinçage.Si le milieu en cause est nuisible à l’environnement (toxique,corrosif, etc.), il faudra absolument respecter les prescrip-tions locales en matière de traitement des eaux usées.

– N’utiliser pour les installations d’eau de rinçage que desmatériaux résistants à la corrosion et aux produits chimi-ques en jeu.



Les effets d‘une position intermediaire de les versions aveclongueur d'immension H = 70 mm

En entrant et sortant le support et si la partie rétractable se main-tenait positionée entre les deux positions finales IN et OUT, lefluide du process pourrait s‘écouler par les ouvertures de lachambre de retrait et les conduites d‘écoulement. Ceci peut créerdes risques pour le personnel, les équipements et l‘environne-ment.

Recommandation pour des opérations correctes en toutesécurité

Tous les conduites d‘écoulement doivent être équipées de val-ves qui seront ouvertes seulement quand la partie rétractable dusupport sera en position finale rétractée. Aprés rinçage ou main-tenance des sensors les valves doivent être fermées.

Installation de base

Cette installation de base permet un nettoyage/rinçage de l’élec-trode/sonde lorsque le support est en position “Maintenance”.

– Alimentation:

La conduite d’alimentation se raccorde au raccord d’eau derinçage “A” (F 1/8") du support par un organe d’arrêt appro-prié (dépendant du système de commande utilisé).

La pression admissible est de 2 bar.

– Evacuation:

Pour l’évacuation de l’eau, raccorder la sortie de l’eau derinçage “B” (F 1/4") à une conduite d’évacuation de l’im-meuble (tenir compte des prescriptions locales).

Important! La sortie de l’eau de rinçage devrait se trouver unpeu plus haut que l’entrée, de sorte que l’espace rincé resteconstamment rempli d’eau (resp. de solution tampon, voiraussi les explications ci-après) et que l’électrode/sonde nepuisse pas se dessécher. On peut obtenir le même effet parla forme du tuyau d’évacuation (dirigé d’abord vers le haut).

Installation pour l’étalonnage du système de mesure avecl’électrode/sonde en place

Si l’on veut étalonner le système de mesure (électrode/sonde etamplificateur de mesure) avec l’électrode/sonde en place, (seu-lement possible avec la commande correspondante, p.ex. “Uni-Cal”), il faut fixer au raccord (F 1/8") du support un tuyau dedistribution à trois branches en lieu et place du raccord d’ali-mentation.

Connecter ces branches selon leschéma suivants:

• Raccord “A” via une vanned’arrêt avec la conduite d’ali-mentation d’eau de rinçage

• Raccords “B” et “C” via une sou-pape de non-retour avec la con-duite d’alimentation en solutiontampon.

4.2.3 Connexions pneumatiques

Pour une utilisation pneumatique du support, les connections“1” et “2” doivent être connectées à “1” et “2” comme décrit ci-dessous.

Attention! Seulement les raccords d’origine fournis avec le sup-port doivent être utilisés.

Si le système d’indication de position est utilisé, les deuxconnections “3” et “4” doivent être connectées aux valves d’in-dication de position.

Remarques:

– La pression de service du système pneumatique est de8 bars.

– La pression d’alimentation en air du support doit être auminimum de 4 bars.

– L’air de réglage doit être filtré et exempt d’huile.

4.2.4 Montage de la sonde de température

Lors de l’étalonnage du système de mesure, il faut tenir comptede la température du milieu mesuré. Pour ce faire, une sonde detempérature est reliée à l’amplificateur de mesure.

Pour la compensation automatique de la température lors del’étalonnage du système de mesure avec l’électrode/sonde enplace, on peut incorporer directement une sonde de températu-re (p.ex. Pt100) dans l’espace de rinçage.

Procéder comme suit au montage:

1. Retirer le bouchon borgne (F 1/8").

2. Visser la sonde de température (Pt100/Pt1000) avec le jointcirculaire et serrer avec la clé en fourche.

3. Relier la sonde de température à l’entrée correspondante del’amplificateur de mesure.

4.2.5 Montage de l’électrode dans le support

Support rétractable InTrac® 777-SL

1. Amener le support en position “main-tenance”.

2. Enlever la câble “anti-vrillage” “2”.

3. Dévisser le capuchon protecteur “3”.

4. Vérifier si l’on a choisi le type d’élec-trode/sonde approprié (voir chap. 9“annexe”).

5. Vérifier si l’électrode/sonde est en-dommagée (p.ex. bris de l’électro-de/sonde).

Attention! Ne pas installerdes électrodes/sondes dé-fectueuses.

6. Vérifier si le disque de glissement etle joint torique de l’électrode/sondesont endommagés; les remplacer sinécessaire.

7. Retirer le capuchon de rinçage aubout de l’électrode/sonde et rincer cel-le-ci à l’eau.

8. Introduire prudemment l’électrode/sonde dans le tube à immersion et lavisser à la main jusqu’à la butée.

Important! Ne pas utiliser d’outils.

9. Enlever le capot d’étanchéité de laconnexion coaxiale de l’électrode/sonde.

10.Faire passer le câble de connexion àtravers le câble “anti-vrillage” “2” et lecapuchon protecteur “3” et le vissersur la tête de l’électrode/sonde.

11.Revisser à la main le capuchon pro-tecteur. Enfin, replacer le câble “anti-vrillage” “2”.

Attention! Si l’on ne serre pas dans le bon ordre l’écrou-rac-cord “5” et l’adaptateur de plastique “4”, on risque de briserl’électrode. Il est donc très important de procéder exactementcomme suit:

1. Amener le support en position “main-tenance”

2. Retirer le câble “anti-vrillage” “2”.

3. Enlever le capuchon protecteur “3”,l’adaptateur plastique “4” et l’écrou-raccord “5”.

4. Vérifier si l’on a choisi le type d’élec-trode approprié (voir chap. 9 “anne-xe”).

5. Vérifier si l’électrode est endommagée(p.ex. bris de l’électrode).

Attention! Ne pas installerdes électrodes endomma-gées).

6. Retirer le capuchon de rinçage aubout de l’électrode, ainsi que le bou-chon de remplissage et le ruban éla-stique. Rincer l’électrode à l’eau.Important! Ne plus basculer l’électro-de après avoir enlevé le bouchon,pour éviter les pertes d’électrolyte.

7. Vérifier le niveau de l’électrolyte de ré-férence et en rajouter au besoin (con-sulter les instructions de service del’électrode en question).

8. Introduire prudemment l’électrode dans le tube à immersionjusqu’à ce qu’elle repose sur la sellette de TEFLON®.Important! En cas de montage oblique, prendre garde quel’inscription “Position electrode this side up” soit en haut.Dans cette position ( et si le niveau est à la bonne hauteur),il ne peut pas y avoir d’écoulement d’électrolyte par l’ouver-ture de remplissage.

9. Vérifier si le joint plat “6” de la partie supérieure est endom-magé et le remplacer au besoin. Mettre la partie supérieureen place et serrer l’écrou-raccord “5” à la main.Attention! Ne serrer l’écrou-raccord “5” qu’après avoir enle-ver l’adaptateur en plastique “4”.

10.Vérifier le joint de l’adaptateur en plastique “4” et le rempla-cer si nécessaire. Le mettre en place et le serrer à la main.

11.Enlever le capot d’étanchéité de la connexion coax de l’élec-trode.

12.Retirer le passe-fil fendu du capuchon protecteur “3” et de“anti-vrillage” “2”, passer le câble de connexion (ST Coax 5)à travers celle-ci et le brancher à l’électrode.

13.Revisser à la main le capuchon protecteur “3”. Enfin, remon-ter le câble “anti-vrillage” “2”.

14.Régler la pression de compensation.On peut régler la pression de compensation avec une pompeà vélo via le raccord de valve du manomètre ou à l’aide d’unealimentation permanente en air comprimé (exempte d’hui-le) (jeu de prise de pression faisant partie des livraisons).

Remarque: la pression de compensation doit être au moinsde 0.5 bar et au maximum de 2 bar au-dessus de la pres-sion du milieu sous mesure (tenir compte de la pressionhydrostatique de celui-ci), afin que l’électrolyte puisse circu-ler librement de l’électrode de référence au milieu de mesure.

4.3 Mise en service

4.3.1 Mise en service pour support manuel

Avant la mise en service, tous les travaux de montage et d’in-stallation (v. chap. 4.2) doivent être terminés! Avant chaquemise en service, vérifier le système de mesure, inspecter le mon-tage de l’électrode/ sonde et examiner le mécanisme du supportet l’éventuelle présence de fuites (voir aussi chap.7). Ne pascommencer la procédure avant d’avoir contrôlé et pris toutes lesmesures correctives nécessaires en cas de problème.

Procéder comme suit pour la mise en service:

1. Tirer le bouton rouge de la goupille defaçon à débloquer le tube à immersi-on

2. Amener le tube à immersion en posi-tion “Maintenance”. Le tube doit êtreverrouillé sur sa limite inférieure.Quand le capuchon de protectionatteint la goupille de position “A”, letube à immersion doit être tournédans le sens des aiguilles d’une mon-tre jusqu’à s’encastrer dans le capu-chon protecteur.Aligné dans la goupille de position“A”, le tube à immersion peut mainte-nant être completement inséré enposition “Mesure”. Un positionnementcorrect déclanche un “click” audiblelorsque la goupille se verouille.

4.3.2 Mise en service pour support pneumatique

Avant la mise en service, tous les travaux de montage et d’in-stallation (voir chap.4.2) doivent être terminés. Avant chaquemise en service, vérifier le système de mesure, inspecter le mon-tage de l’électrode/sonde et examiner le mécanisme du supportet l’éventuelle présence de fuites (voir aussi chap.7). Ne pascommencer la procédure avant d’avoir contrôlé et pris toutes lesmesures correctives nécessaires en cas de problème.Procéder comme suit pour la mise en service:

1. Ouvrir l’alimentation en air de réglage. Vérifier:– Les mouvements d’avancement et de retrait du tube à

immersion, ainsi que le message de la position fina-le respective.

– L’étanchéité du système d’air de réglage. Etancher immé-diatement d’éventuelles fuites.

2. Amener le tube à immersion en position “maintenance” etouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage ( 2 bar). Vérifier l’étanchéitédu système d’eau de rinçage. Etancher immédiatementd’éventuelles fuites.

3. Si le dispositif d’ étalonnage du système de mesure est équi-pé d’une électrode intégrée, amener le support en position“maintenance” et procéder à un étalonnage (voir chap. 5.4).Vérifier en même temps:– Le déroulement correct de l’ étalonnage.– L’étanchéité du système de solution tampon. Etancher

immédiatement d’éventuelles fuites.

Une fois tous les contrôle de fonction accomplis avec succès,on peut mettre l’installation avec les supports rétractables en ser-vice.

Attention! Après la mise en service, manipuler les supportsrétractables avec grande précaution. Il faut absolument tenircompte des remarques faites au chap. 5.1.



4.4 Mise hors service pour support manuel et supportpneumatique

Attention! Aux supports rétractables manuelles (p.ex. InTrac®

777-SL), la goupille de verrouillage “B” doit s’encastrer dans larainure du tube à immersion. Pour se faire tourner le tube àimmersion dans le sense d’horloge.

1. Amener le support en position “maintenance”.

2. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage, rincer l’électrode/sonde etrefermer l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage.

3. S’assurer que l’installation sur laquelle le support est installéne présente aucuns dangers (dépressurisé, exempt demilieu, rincé, purgé, ventilé, etc.).

4. Fermer les arrivées d’air.

4.5 Travaux de démontage

4.5.1 Démontage de l’électrode/sonde

Attention! Ne monter ou démonter les électrodes/sondesqu’en position “maintenance”.


1. Amener le support en position “main-tenance”. Assurer vous, que la gou-pille de verrouillage “B” s’encastredans la rainure du tube à immersion(v. chap. 3.3.1).

2. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage, rin-cer l’électrode/sonde et refermer l’ar-rivée d’eau de rinçage.

3. Retirer le câble “anti-vrille” “3”.

4. Dévisser le capuchon protecteur “4”.

5. Retirer le câble de branchement.

6. Dévisser l’électrode/sonde et la retireravec précaution du tube à immersion.

Attention! Si l’on ne dégage pas l’adaptateur “4” et l’écrou-rac-cord “5” dans le bon ordre, on risque de casser l’électrode.C’est pourquoi on doit procéder exactement dans l’ordre suivant:


2. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage etrincer l’électrode. Refermer l’arrivéed’eau de rinçage.

3. Lâcher la pression dans la partiesupérieure en dévissant le raccord devalve du manomètre ou en coupantl’arrivée d’air comprimé; puis revisserle raccord de valve.

4. Retirer la vis “2” du câble “anti-vrille”et dévisser le capuchon protecteur“3”.

5. Déconnecter la câble de l’électrode.

6. Défaire l’adaptateur plastique “4” et leretirer.

7. Dévisser l’écrou-raccord “5” et retirerla partie supérieure “7”.

8. Retirer avec précaution l’électrode dutube à immersion.

Remarque: On trouvera des instruction spécifiques concernantl’électrode (équilibrage avec le système de mesure, entreposa-ge, etc.) dans la documentation relative à l’électrode ou au sy-stème de mesure.

4.5.2 Démontage du support

1. Mettre le support hors service (v. chap. 4.4).

2. Démonter l’électrode/sonde (v. chapitre 4.5.1).

3. Démonter les conduites d’eau de rinçage et d’air comprimé.Important! Boucher les orifices, afin d’éviter que de la pous-sière y pénètre.

4. Dévisser l’écrou-raccord, respectivement la bride et retirer lesupport avec précaution.

Attention! Pour éviter de l’endommager, ne jamais poser le sup-port sur les faces frontales du tube à immersion et de la brochede centrage.

4.6 Utilisation du câble avec fiches BNC

Si votre câble de pH a une fiche BNC, vous ne pouvez pas uti-liser le presse-étoupe standard ainsi que la protection anti-tor-sion, tous deux montés sur le capuchon protecteur. L’ alésageest trop étroit pour permettre le passage de la fiche BNC. Dévis-sez dans ce cas la protection anti-torsion et le presse-étoupe(A). Remplacer les par un presse-étoupe fendu, et insérer le dansle capuchon long protecteur (B).

5. Service

5.1 Remarques importantes concernant l’utilisationquotidienne

– Le tube à immersion ne doit jamais être amené en position“mesure” sans électrode/sonde intégrée, car le liquidemesuré pourrait échapper à travers le tube ouvert.

– En état de service on ne doit en aucun cas enlever:– les conduites des systèmes pneumatique , de rinçage ou

de solution tampon.– les dispositifs de fixation (brides, écrous-raccord etc.).

– En cas de dérangements durant le service, mettre l’installa-tion hors d’utilisation dans laquelle est intégré le support.

– Pour tous les opérations qui doivent être exécutées durant leservice quotidien, porter les équipements de protection (lu-nettes, gants, protection respiratoire, etc.) prescrits.

5.2 Travaux de contrôle lors de l’utilisationquotidienne

Lors de l’utilisation quotidienne, on exécutera les travaux sui-vants:

• Vérifier si tous les systèmes (air, eau de rinçage, solutionstampon [s’il y en a]) sont étanches.

• Vérifier si les fixations (écrou-raccord, bride) du support sontbien serrées et étanches.

• Vérifier l’état de l’électrode/sonde. Une électrode/sondedéfectueuse ou endommagée doit être remplacée immédia-tement.

Supports avec compensation de pression (InTrac® 776-SL):

• Contrôler, si le manomètre réagit.

• Contrôler la pression dans la partie supérieure:Elle doit être au moins de 0.5 bar et au maximum de 2 barau-dessus de la pression du milieu sous mesure (tenircompte de la pression hydrostatique de celui-ci), afin quel’électrolyte puisse circuler librement de l’électrode deréférence au milieu de mesure.Remarque: On obtient la surpression voulue avec unepompe à vélo, via le raccord de valve du manomètre, ou parla conduite d’alimentation en air comprimé.

• Contrôler le niveau de l’électrolyte de référence:Le niveau de l’électrolyte de référence diminue continuel-ement, à cause des pertes à travers le diaphragme. Lorsquele niveau est tombé au-dessous du bulbe de l’électrode, raj-outer de l’électrolyte de référence (v. chap. 6 “Maintenan-ce”).



5.3 Nettoyage de l’électrode/sonde

L’électrode/sonde doit être nettoyée avant le démontage, avantl’étalonnage du système de mesure ou à intervalles réguliers(selon le milieu), durant le service normal. Procéder commesuit:


2. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage et rin-cer l’électrode/sonde.

3. Refermer l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage.

5.4 Etalonnage du système de mesure

La fréquence d’étalonnage dépend du système de mesure, dutype d’électrode/sonde et du milieu sous mesure.Procéder comme suit pour étalonner le système de mesure:

1. Amener le support en position “maintenance”.

2. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage, rincer l’électrode/sonde etrefermer l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage.

3. Démonter l’électrode/sonde (procéder selon chap. 4.5.1).Remarque: n’est nécessaire que si votre installation ne per-met pas d’étalonner le système de mesure avec l’électro-de/sonde en place.

4. Procéder à l’ étalonnage selon les instruction de service pourl’électrode en cause et pour l’amplificateur de mesure.

5. Monter l’électrode/sonde (procéder selon chap. 4.2.5).Remarque: n’est nécessaire que si votre installation ne per-met pas d’étalonner le système de mesure avec l’électro-de/sonde en place.

6. Ouvrir l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage et rincer l’électrode/sonde.Refermer l’arrivée d’eau de rinçage.

7. Amener le support en position “mesure”.



6. Maintenance

6.1 Remarques importantes concernant la maintenance

Attention! Les travaux de maintenance et de réparation sur lesupport doivent être effectués seulement par des personnes qua-lifiées.

Procéder uniquement aux travaux de maintenance et de ré-paration décrits dans les chapitres suivants.

Attention! Le milieu du procédé peut être dangereux pour l’en-vironnement ou pour votre santé (toxique, corrosif, etc.). Il estdonc important de mettre l’installation dans un état inoffensifavant de procéder à des travaux d’entretien.

6.2 Comment rajouter de l’électrolyte de référence

Les travaux suivant ne se rapportent qu’aux électrodes pH/redoxà électrolyte liquide. Procéder comme suit pour rajouter de l’élec-trolyte:

1. Démonter l’électrode (v. chap. 4.5.1).Remarque: ne pas rajouter de l’électrolyte de référencequand l’électrode est installée.

2. Rajouter de l’électrolyte de référence (selon les inscriptionssur l’électrode “Refill”).Important! Il faut absolument tenir compte du niveau de rem-plissage maximum.

3. Remettre l’électrode en place (v. chap. 4.2.5).

Enlever immediatement chaque résidu d’électrolyte du sup-port rétractable. Laver et sécher le support rétractable.

6.3 Conversion de l´InTrac® SLM en InTrac® SLP/SLR

La version manuelle SLM du support InTrac® peut être conver-tie en version à commande pneumatique, mais pour éviter deserreurs, la conversion du support doit être faite par le construc-teur.

Veuillez prendre contact avec votre distributeur habituel on Mett-ler Toledo.



6.4 Conversion de l’InTrac® 777-SL en InTrac® 776-SL(pour les électrodes pH/redox seulement)

Pour effectuer la conversion, procéder comme suit:

1. Mettre le support hors service (voir chapitre 4.4).

2. Retirer le support du procédé (voir chapitre 4.5.2).

3. Dévisser le capuchon protecteur et déconnecter le câble.

4. Démonter l’électrode.

5. Visser l’adaptateur 52400857 pour électrode à électrolyteliquide au sommet du tube à immersion. Fixer avec la vis deblocage.

6. Insérer une électrode à électrolyte liquide comme décrit dansle chapitre 4.2.5.

7. Le support est maintenant prêt à être installé.

6.5 Remplacement des joints qui sont en contactavec le milieu

Par principe, pour des raisons de sécurité, les joints qui ent-rent en contact avec le milieu doivent être remplacés aumoins une fois par an. En milieu agressif, ils doivent être rem-placés plus souvent.

Attention!

– Les séparations de maintenance sur le support ne s’effectu-ent qu’après démontage du support.

– Procéder uniquement les travaux d’entretien décrits ci-aprèset remplacer uniquement les joints marqués (v. dessin ci-dessus). Vérifier la qualité des étanchéités et rechercher lesdommages possibles. Assurez-vous de leur positionnement.

– Assurer vous d’utiliser des joints de bonne qualité (v. para-graphe 8).

Pour remplacer les joints, procéder comme suit:

1. Mettre le support hors service (v. chap. 4.4.).

2. Retirer l’électrode/sonde du support (v. chap. 4.5.1) et l’en-treposer selon les directives en la matière.

3. Retirer le support du réacteur (v. chap. 4.5.2) et placer lasur une surface propre.Attention! Pour éviter de l’endommager, ne jamais poser lesupport sur les faces frontales du tube à immersion et de labroche de centrage.

4. Dévisser les 4 vis de la fixation de la chambre de rinçage etretirer celle-ci du tube de guidage en la tapotant légèrementavec un marteau en plastique.

5. Retirer les joints marqués avec un crochet fin (voir image).Prendre garde de ne pas égratigner la surface de base:

Chambre de rinçage:– Joints toriques “2”


tube à immersion:– Joint torique “1”


Broche de centrage:– Joint torique “3”


6. Graisser les nouveaux joints (jeu de joints) avec de la grais-se de laboratoire.Important! Ne pas graisser le joint torique “1” dans letube à immersion, car il se pourrait que de la graisse se dé-pose à la pointe de l’électrode/sonde lors de son installation,ce qui perturberait son fonctionnement.

7. Remettre en place les joints toriques “1” (tube à immersion),“3” (broche de centrage) et les O-ring “2” (chambre de rinça-ge) à l’aide du dôme de montage (No. 90 770 1790).

8. Vérifier si l’anneau torique est endommagé le long de la ba-gue de centrage de la chambre de rinçage; le remplacer aubesoin. Enduire l’anneau torique de graisse de laboratoire.

9. Glisser la chambre de rinçage avec précaution sur le tube àimmersion. Aligner la broche de positionnement de la cham-bre de rinçage sur le forage du tube de guidage, ainsi quiles broches du tube à immersion sur les forages correspon-dants de la chambre de rinçage.

10.Placer la chambre de rinçage sur le tube de guidage etl’enfoncer (contre la résistance du joint torique). Serrer les 4vis de fixation.

On trouvera des instructions supplémentaires sur les travauxd’installation (installation sur le réacteur, branchement dessystèmes pneumatique et de rinçage, etc.) au chap. 4.2. “Tra-vaux de montage et d’installation”).

7. Mesures à prendre en cas de dérangements

On trouvera à ce chapitre une récapitulation des dérangementsqui peuvent survenir lors de l’utilisation du support rétractable,ainsi que de leurs causes et des mesures à prendre le caséchéant.
