Lynda recently transferred to the marketing department from our Minneapolis retail banking area, so she may not be a new face to some of you. Lynda started her banking career in the 1960’s when she joined Capital Bank in St. Paul as a receptionist. Through the years, she has worked in various positions including as a teller, in market- ing, as a retail banker, and a branch manager. After working for various banks (including one that was sold and one that was acquired during her tenure), Lynda joined Northeast Bank in 2013. Lynda was originally hired as a part-time Universal Banker after Alma Field retired, but a position change for Kristy Moyer created a new position in the marketing department. With over 40 years of various banking experience, and a love of travel, we feel she is a great fit, and we think you will agree! Lynda has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jim, for nearly 48 years. She has two daughters, five grandsons and one granddaughter. Lynda was born and raised in Minnesota, living in the St. Paul area her entire life. She is an avid traveler who enjoys singing in her church choir and collecting various items including stamps, coins and rocks. Lynda boasts a large collection of rocks; one from every place that she has traveled. Favorite domestic destination outside Minnesota: My favorite domestic destination would have to be Hawaii. I have been there a total of six times through the years; to the big island twice, to Maui three times, and a combo trip to the big island and Kauai once. Introducing Lynda Koren

We are excited to announce the addition of Lynda Koren to our Free Spirit Club Travel Team. Lynda recently transferred to the marketing department from our Minneapolis retail banking area, so she may not be a new face to some of you.

Lynda started her banking career in the 1960’s when she joined Capital Bank in St. Paul as a receptionist. Through the years, she has worked in various positions including as a teller, in market-ing, as a retail banker, and a branch manager. After working for various banks (including one that was sold and one that was acquired during her tenure), Lynda joined Northeast Bank in 2013. Favorite international vacation destination: My favorite international vacation destination is Costa Rica. I traveled there about seven years ago and stayed for eight days. During that time, we went on a Caravan tour where I learned a lot about the country, including information on the country’s political system, history of the region, their natural food sources/favorites, and the rainforest. I also

Congratulations, Kristy! We are happy to announce that Kristy Moyer has been promoted to Northeast Bank’s Retail Banking Manager. Kristy will remain at the Minneapolis location, but is now in charge of the Universal Bankers located at all banking locations. We appreciate all her years of hard work and dedication to our Free Spirit Club members. Congrats, Kristy, and we wish you the best of luck in your new position!

enjoyed a visit to the Del Monte banana processing plant where they still harvest bananas by hand. Another memorable event was when we took

a treetop jungle tour where we zip-lined along the canopy

of trees in a basket.

Wish list domestic vacation: I would like to visit South or North Carolina as I have never been to either. A former neighbor of mine moved to South Carolina, and one of my grandsons is serving in the military and based out of North Carolina. I would like to experience first-hand all the beauty that everyone talks about, and see the Appalachian Mountains.

Wish list international vacation: I would like to travel to Australia. While there, I would like to see the usual sights in addition to

taking a Jeep ride through the Outback, and visiting Steve Erwin’s Zoo. Since I would have already traveled all that way, I would also like to go to New Zealand and see the famous Opera House building.

Definition of a great vacation: A great vacation is where every-thing “clicks;” the flight, arrival, accommodations, food, attractions, etc. It’s wonderful when the airfare

is a reasonable price and offers good travel times and a smooth journey. Accommodations that live up to, or exceed, the expectations set by the website or

travel information is a definite plus.

Nothing is better than a trip where everything just seems to fall into place.

I have experienced both cruise vacations and land vacations. My favorite is probably cruises (when that is an option) since I like to unpack once, but have the opportu-nity to see and experience multiple destinations. The pampering aspect of a cruise is also very appealing!

Space is limited, so make your reservation by calling our Columbia Heights office at 763-788-9351! Advanced reservation is required and payment will be taken at the door. A light meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with bingo to start at 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
