INTRODUCTION

You love facebook. You upload pictures, join groups, write on

different walls, you click I LIKE  in your friend’s publications…and

many more things!

One day, you are trying to log in your account and you can not. You try

again writing your password slowly. Impossible. What happened? You

turn the computer off and again. You try to log in your Facebook

account, but you can not. But yesterday, you could log in!!! What

happened?

YOUR ACCOUNT WAS HACKED. You feel scared, angry, furious,

mixed feelings. Now, you will have to find out how someone could do

that and if other people suffered that attack.

TASK

Part A: Write about the ideas you have in mind about

facebook. That’s Brainstorming. The graphic may help you to

do so.

Part B: Getting to know about hacking. You will have to

write a letter to a friend telling him what you have found out

about hacking. Consider:

Page 2: Introduction

Section 1 : What does the term mean? Are there types?

(describe what hackers, hacking, computer hacking is)

Section 2 : What are the things people should not reveal on

facebook? What did you reveal on facebook? (describe and

tell your friend in the letter the main recommendations you

find useful)

Section 3 : News about people related to facebook (explain,

answer and complete the 5W graphic - when, why, what,

who, where, how- suggested below)

Part C: Creating a picture. The free creation of a design will

integrate and show the three main topics you will develop in the

letter.

PROCESS

1. Go to "Resources" in order to find the information you need

for each section. Try to find all the information in the selected

web pages. There are plenty of good sites on the web but you'd

better don't spend much time on searching it.

2. Gather the information that can be useful for you. It is not

necessary to print them, you can do all the editing job in the

computer.

3. Examine and analyse the information that you have

found. Discuss with your “Reading group” what you have got

and explain for what it could be useful for the

letter. Propose your choices and the reasons for them.

Page 3: Introduction

4. Use your own words to write your letter about every

aspect.

5. To write the final letter, use the word processor. You should

also include some pictures from the Web.

6. For the final evaluation in Part C, you may use your

imagination with a collage, paint or the word processor.

EVALUATION

Your letter will be evaluated in group. It means that all of you have to

work hard to get a good mark.

The second part of the task Creating a picture is considered

as an evaluation too. You have to think freely about a design to

make other people aware of what happened to you. All the

members of your group will have to upload this image as

a "Profile picture" in your facebook accounts and explain in

the"description" how you can prevent hacking. Don´t forget

tagging all of your friends!

CONCLUSION

You have learnt how to write a letter to a friend telling him/her about

many different aspects. You have learnt about Hacking.

Now, you also know what is recommended not to post on

Facebook.

You have found about the Facebook reality in San Juan,

Argentina and the world through the news.

Now you will have to write a short opinion about what you learnt

and what changes made in your life.
