Introduction This report is our site visit to Sekyen 2A, Antara Gapi Hulu Selangor, Selangor. We are there to see construction sites. There were 3 lecturers to bring us there whom are Miss Ang, Miss Azrina and Miss Aishah. We are informed to gather by 8.30am and we took off to the site by 2 busses.

Introduction

This report is our site visit to Sekyen 2A, Antara Gapi Hulu

Selangor, Selangor. We are there to see construction sites.

There were 3 lecturers to bring us there whom are Miss Ang,

Miss Azrina and Miss Aishah. We are informed to gather by

8.30am and we took off to the site by 2 busses.

Objectives of the site visit

- Helps us to understand more about construction sites

- Helps us to know more how working as a quantity

surveyor is like

- Helps us to see the construction in live view

- Helps us to increase the knowledge of how building

houses are like

Pad Footing

Construction of a RC Pad Footing

- Excavation to desired level

- Pour Lean concrete to the base of footing

- Construct a formwork

- Add spacer blocks

- Enhance stum reinforcements

- Build in all the bars

- Compact the concrete

- Dismantle the formwork once the concrete is ready and gained

enough strength

Materials Required

- Excavator

- Cement trucks

- Cranes

- Hammer

- Lean concrete

- Bars

- Wooden Pegs

Learning outcome

I have learned a lot during this site visit, it has helped me in a lot of ways lectures doesn’t

help. I get to see the things I have learned in class in front of me so that I could visualize

better. This way it can help me to understand better. During this trip it has allowed me to

enhance my knowledge more on pad footings, strip foundation, machineries and many

more. I have also learned that working in a construction site requires a lot of precautions.

Content and Technical Observations

We were gathered at Taylors University on the 19th of November 2015 8.30 am to go to a

site visit. We are required to bring a helmet along with us for safety measures. We went

there by 2 busses and after an hour or so we reached our destination. We were given a

brief precautions and safety measures to look out for during the site visit by one of the

man working there. We saw a lots of machineries and construction sites there, we took

some pictures there too for this report.
