WHAT IS REDCAP?

• A web-based data management system• Originally for clinical research, but usable in other domains• Developed by Vanderbilt.

WHY USE REDCAP?

• Intuitive user interface and work flow (easily create - no programming experience required)

• Quick project start-up • Fully customizable• Secure (controls user access to data, audit trail etc.)• Captures data entry live (optional double data entry) Or offline > Mobile App • Validates fields/ Data Queries• Stores data • Allows easy recall of data, view/edit and reporting applications• Exports data for analysis (.csv, .xlsx, various statistical program formats) with

de-identification options)

TYPES OF DATA

1. Surveys• Participants enter their own data• Public link or personalized email invitations

2. Database• Longitudinal Data:

• Option 1) Repeating instances where forms can be reused for multiple events (when events are not well defined or subject to change/ad hoc.

• Option 2) Enable module. Defined events offset from a baseline date

OPERATIONS/MODULES

on your mobile device• Set-up url on app by scanning in a QR barcode which will be sent to

your SU address• With each log in, open GA and obtain a one time pin.
