Mount Everest: the highest mountain in the world. Sofarithasattractednearly4,000mountaineersfromaroundtheworld,andeachyearmoreandmorevisitit.Thevastmajorityofthemaretouristswhodonothavetheexperienceandskillsrequiredtoconqueraneight-thousander.Withoutappropriatehelp,notonlywouldtheybeunabletomanageit,theywouldn’tevencometotheHimalayas. Fortunately,youarehere!Anexperiencedclimberandguide. You’veclimbedBroadPeak,K2andothereight-thousanders,andyou’vealreadybeenonMountEverestseveraltimes.Thistimeyou’refacingamuchmoredifficulttask.Youmustguideclientstothesummitandbringthembackdownsafely.Lookingupatthemountain,youknowthatwhat’seasyforyoumightbeadeadlyadventureforyourclients. Youneedtoplanwheretosetupcamps,howtohandleacclimatization,whotoleadupthemountain,andwhen,andwhentoguidethembackdown.Lookingattheenthusiasticfacesofyourclients,youunderstandthattheirlifeisinyourhands.

INTRODUCTION AND GOAL OF THE GAME

Mount Everestisaboardgamedesignedfor2to5playersaged10yearsandup,lastingabout60-90minutes.

InMountEverest,eachplayertakesontheroleofateamof2experiencedmountainguides,whosejobistosafelyleadthelargestnumberofclientstothepeakandbackdownagain.Eachplayerusesanidenticaldeckofcardsformovingontheboard.Playersmustplanwheretheywillsetupcampsandhowmuchoxygentheywillbringalong,becauseonlyoxygenpermitsgettingacclimatizationcardswhichwillletthetouristssurvivetheirMountEverest adventure. Playersalsohavetodecidewhichclientstoleadtothesummit.Someareathletictrainedmountaineers,andsomearewealthyprestigiousamateurs.Goingwiththefirsttypeofclientiseasier,buttowinyouwouldhavetoguidealargergroup,andeachsuccessivetouristinthegroupsignificantlyincreasestheriskthatsomethingwillgowrong.Asalwaysinthemountains,theweatherisanimportantfactor.Ifplayerssuccessfullycoordinatetheirtrekstoavoiddangerousweatherconditionsatthesummit,thatwillhelpbringallthetouristssafelybacktothebase. Playerswillmoveguidesontheboardbyplayingcardseachturn.Themoreclientsyouguidetothesummit,themorepointsyoureceive-butinthehigherpartsofthemountains,youhavetomanageacclimatizationlevels.Ifaclient’sacclimatizationfallsbelow1,theexhaustedclientdies,andtheplayerlosesvictorypoints.

GAME PREPARATION

Beforethefirstgame,punchoutthevariousgametokensandcards. Thedouble-sidedboardshowsaneasierandamoredifficultroutetothesummitofMountEverest.Playersdecideonwhichsidetheywillplay,andthenplacetheboardinthemiddleofthetable[1]. For the firstgame,werecommendplayingontheeasierboard.

Eachplayerchoosesaplayercolorandtakesallthepiecesofthatcolor:• 3guidepawns,• 2guideboards,• 24playercards,• 2camptiles.

Thenplayerschoosewhichsetofweathertilestouse:summeriseasier,winterisharder.Puttheunusedsetbackinthebox.Theweathertilesetscanbefreelycombinedwiththeeasierandhardersidesoftheboard.Forthefirstgame,werecommendsummerweather.

Shuffletheweathertilesanddeal2ofthemfaceupneartheboardtoformasequenceof6spaces(days)withweathervalues[2].Placethe4othertilesfaceupinapilehiddenunderthesecondweathertile.Placetheweathermarkeronthefirstday(theleftmostspaceoftheleftweathertile)[3].

Theboardhasanicefallarea.Dealtheicefalltokensfacedownrandomlyontheicefallspacessuchthatthesymboloneachtoken’sbackmatchesthesymbolonitsboardspace[4].

Placetherisktokensfacedown,mixthem,andrandomlyturn3ofthemfaceup.[5]

Settheoxygentokens[6],climbers[7] and tourists [8] in groups near theboardineasyreachofallplayers.

Eachplayerputstheirguidepawnsasfollows:• Twodifferentlyshapedpawnsonthestartspaceontheboard[9],• Onepawnonthe„5”spaceofthescoretrack.[10].

Shuffletheplayers’pawnsonthe„5”spacerandomlyfromlefttoright.Eachplayerremovestheir6acclimatizationcards,shufflesthem,andplacestheminafacedownstacknearby.

Thisistheplayer’sacclimatizationdeck.[11].

Eachplayer’sremainingcardsareshuffledandplacedinaseparatefacedownstackapartfromtheacclimatizationdeck.Thisistheplayer’smaindeckofcards[12]. Eachplayerdraws6cardsfromtheirmaindeck.

GUIDES

Playersmovetheirguidepawnsontheboard.Eachguidehasitsownguideboardwhereplayerstrackwhatthatguideiscarryingandwhotheguideisleading.TheguidesaresoexperiencedthatMountEverestisnotachallengeforthem,soit’snotnecessarytotracktheiracclimatizationlevels.Theguidesneverdieduringthegame.

CLIENTS

Therearetwo typesofclients:experiencedmountainclimbers(whostilldon’tknowtherealityofclimbinganeight-thousander),andlesspreparedrichtourists.TheyallwanttoclimbMountEverestandreturnsafelytothebase. Clientsarerepresentedbytokens:

Climberbeforeandafterreachingthetop.

Touristbeforeandafterreachingthetop.

Clienttokensare2-sided.Onesideshowsthattheclienthasnotreachedthetop,andthesecondsideshowsthattheclienthasreachedthe top. Allclientsstartthegameofftheboard.Clients enter play only at the base. Onceacliententersplay,itmusteitherbeonaguideboardorinanestablishedcamp.Theclienttoken’slocationontheguideboardorcampdependsontheclient’scurrentacclimatizationlevel.

Allclientsstartthegamewithanacclimatizationlevelof1.Anewclienttokenthusstartsona“1”spaceontheirguide’sboard.

This guide is leading one tourist with acclimatization level 1 and one climber with acclimatization level 2.

Whenmovingaclienttokenfromaguideboardtoacamptile,placethetokenontothecamp’sspacewiththeclient’scurrentacclimatizationlevel.

The tourist’s acclimatization level is 1, as indicated by its position on the guide board, so when the tourist is moved to the camp, the tourist marker goes onto the 1 space.

Allclienttokensenterthegamewiththeir“notreachedthetop”sidesup. Whenaguidereachesthesummit,allclienttokenswiththeguideareturnedtoshowtheother(“reachedthetop”)side. Climbersgive2victorypointsiftheyreachthetopandlatergive2victorypointsiftheyreturntothebase(i.e.onlyiftheirtokenshowsthe“reachedthetop”side).Climberscanhaveamaximumacclimatizationof4,aftercalculatingacclimatization.Ifaclimberdies,thentheplayerloses3victorypointsandremovestheclimber’stoken. Touristsgive3victorypointsiftheyreachthetopandlatergive3victorypointsiftheyreturntothebase(i.e.onlyiftheirtokenshowsthe“reachedthetop”side).Touristscanhaveamaximumacclimatizationof3,aftercalculatingacclimatization.Ifatouristdies,

thentheplayerloses4victorypointsandremovesthetourist’stoken.

Duringaturn,clientscanhaveacclimatizationuptoamaximumof6,butaftercalculatingacclimatizationintheacclimatizationcheckphase,eachclient’sleveldropsto4(forclimbers)or3(fortourists).

SEQUENCE OF PLAY

Thegamelasts18turns(18days).Eachturnisdividedintoseveralphases,playedinorder.Allphasesexceptphase3areplayedsimulta-neouslybyallplayers.

1. Card selection

Allplayersselect3ofthe6cardsintheirhandsandplacethemfacedowninfrontofthem.Whenallplayershavechosentheircards,theyrevealthemsimultaneously. Atthestartofphase1,playercanuseoxygen(whichisdescribedlaterintherulebook).

2. Risk tokens

Playersaddthemovementpointsontheir3selectedcards.Forropecards(withdifferentmovementvaluesupanddown),onlytheupwardvalue is added. Downward movement cards do not count towards the total movement points.Acclimatizationcardsarenotcounted.Theplayerwiththehighestsumchooses1ofthe3visiblerisktokensandputsitbesidetheir3selectedcardsforthisturn.Duringtheactionphase,thisplayerwillhavetoapplytheeffectoftherisktoken.

Incaseofatieforthemostmovementpoints,noplayertakesarisktoken.

Example: Zbyszek played two movement cards, each with value of 1, one rope movement card with value 1 up / 3 down. Ania played 2 movement cards, one with value 1 and one with value 3, and an acclimatization card (with value 1). Włodek played one movement card with value 2 and two acclimatization cards (with value 2 and value 1). Zbyszek’s risk total is 3, Ania’s is 4, and Włodek’s is 2. Therefore Ania must take one of the risk tokens.

Thenarandomfacedownrisktokensisrevealedsothatagain3arevisible.

3. Action phase

Inthisphasetheplayerswilltaketurnsinclockwiseorder,startingattheplayerwiththestartingplayermarker.Aplayermayuseall3oftheirselectedcards(butdoesnothaveto).Aplayerwhotookarisktokenthisturnmustsuffertheconsequences.

Duringtheirturn,aplayercandothefollowingactionswiththeirguides:

LOADING GUIDES

Eachguidehasacardshowingwhattheguideiscarryingandwhoisgoing with the guide. Aguidecanbringclients,oxygentanks,andacamp,allrepresentedbytokensontheguide’sboard. Equippingaguideisfree;thereisnomovementoracclimatizationcost. Aguidecantakeclients,oxygentanks,andacampinthefollowingsituations:

• in the base atthebottomoftheboard,iftheguideisthere.Theclientsandoxygentanksareunlimited.Aplayerwithaguideatthebasecantakeanynumberofselecteditemsfrombesidetheboardandplacethemontheguide’sboardaccordingtotherulesdescribedbelow.Eachplayerhas2campstouseduringthegame.Initially,theyareofftheboard.Aplayercanbringacamporotheroff-boarditemintoplayonlywhentheyhaveaguideatthebasewhowilltakeit.

• from the other same-color guide,ifbothguidesareon the same board space.Friendlyguidesinthesamespacecanfreelyexchangetheirclientsandoxygenandcamps.Aftersuchexchanges,allitemsmustbeplacedontheguide’sboardsaccordingtotherulesdescribedbelow.

• from a same-color placed campinthesamespaceastheguide,ifthereareclientsoroxygentankswhichtheguidewantstotake.Takenitemsmustbeplacedontheguide’sboardaccordingtotherulesdescribedbelow.

Allselecteditemsgoontotheappropriatespacesontheguide’sboard.Aguidehaslimitedcapacity,andsymbolsontherowsontheguide’sboardindicatetheselimits.Ifpartofarowisoccupiedbyequipmentoraclient,thennothingcanbeplacedtotherightofthatspace.Theguide’sitemsareplacedontotheboardinorderfromlefttorightandtoptobottom.

Firstthecampisplaced,iftheguideistakingone.Inthiscase,onlythebottomrowisfree,foreitheroxygenoraclient(butnotboth).

Iftheguidehasnocampbuthasoxygen,thentheoxygenisplacedstartingonthehighestspaceintheoxygencolumn.Aftertaking1oxygentank,theguidehasonlythebottom2rowsfree.Ifaguidealreadyhas1oxygen,thentheguidehasspaceleftforeither2moreoxygen,or2clients,or1ofeach.

Ifaguidetakesonlyclients(nocamporoxygen),thenthereisspaceforupto4clients.

Note: A guide can not carry more oxygen than the number of oxygen symbols indicated at the guide’s current altitude on the board. These values are shown under the tables showing how many guides can occupy a space at a given altitude.

Whenaclientisplacedonaguide’sboard,theclienttokenisplacedonthecorrectnumberindicatingtheclient’scurrentacclimatizationlevel.(Eachclientisontheirownrow.)

This guide currently has 2 clients. The tourist has acclimatization level 2 and the climber has acclimatization level 1. While moving, the guide takes a tourist with acclimatization 2 from another guide, putting the tourist token onto the “2” space on the next row of the guide’s board.

UNLOADING GUIDES

Aplayermayunloadaguideonlyincertainsituations. Unloadingisnormallyfree;thereisnomovementoracclimatizationcost.Theonlyexceptionisplacingacampasdescribedbelow.

Oxygen –aguidecanunloadoxygentoanalreadysame-colorplacedcamp(placingitonornexttothecamptile)orgiveittotheothersame-colorguideinthesamespace. Clients–aplayercanleavecustomersinanalreadysame-colorplacedcamporgivethemtotheothersame-colorguideinthesamespace.Inbothcases,thecustomer’sacclimatizationlevelremainsunchanged.

Aplayercanatanytimefreelyabandonequipmentorclients:

• Discardedoxygenreturnstothereserveneartheboard.

• Abandonedclientsdieandreturntothereserve.Theplayerlosesvictorypointsforthedeathoftheclient(3foraclimber,4foratourist).

• Anabandonedcampleavesthegame(andreturnstothebox).

Somecardsonlyhavemovementpointswithanarrowpointingdown;theseareropecardswhichcanbeusedonlyformovingdown(asiftheirupvalueis0).

Agivencard’smovementpointscanonlybeappliedto1guide,notsplitbetween2guides.Aplayerneednotuseallthemovementpoints,oreven move the guide at all.

Example: Zbyszek played 2 movement cards, each with value 1, and a rope card with value 1 up / 3 down. He uses them to move one of his guides higher (spending 2 upward points to enter a space costing 2) and moves his other guide lower (using 3 downward points) entering 2 spaces, which cost 2 and 1.

Note: A given space can have only as many guides as shown on the table for that space’s altitude on the board. In the table, the number is the number of players in the game, and the silhouettes show the maximum number of guide pawns on a space at that altitude.

Example: In a 3-player game, each space in the altitude zone 7000-8000 meters above sea level can have at most 2 guides.

Playerscanalwaysunloadatthebaseatthebottomoftheboard.Inthiscase,allunloadeditemsreturntotheiroriginalpilesbesidetheboard.Ifaclientwhoreachedthetopissafelyreturnedtothebase,thentheplayerearnsvictorypoints(2foraclimber,3foratourist).

MOVING GUIDES

Playersusemovementcardstomovetheirguidesuptothenumberofmovementpointsindicatedonthecards,upordown.

Guidesmovefromspacestoadjacentspaces.Thecosttoenteraspaceismarkedwithayellowcircleinthatspace.Ifaspacehasnocostshown,thenthecostis1toenter.

Theplayersayswhichguideismovingandwhichcardsarebeingusedforthatguide.Theguidecanuseasmanymovementpointsasthesumofthevaluesinthecards’greencircles.

Forropecards,usethepointsinonly1chosendirection,accordingtotheguide’smovementdirection.Theplayermustchoosewhethertousethe upward or the downward movement points of acard.Upward movement points can be used to move up, place a camp, and pay the cost of a risk

token. Downward movement points can be used to move down and to pay the cost of a risk token.

Youcanneverusebothvaluesfromagivenropecard.Anormal(non-rope)movementcard’spointscanbeusedinbothdirections(movingupandmovingdown).Duringaguide’smovement,theguidecanmoveinbothdirectionsasdesired,e.g.upandthendown.

Duringaguide’smovement,theguidemaypassthroughaspacewhichisalreadyfullyoccupiediftheguidedoesnotstopthere.Aplayercanalsomovebothoftheirguidessimultaneously,asawaytoswapplacesiftheyarenexttoeachotherbutbothstandinginfullyoccupiedspaces.(Ifguidesswapplacessimultaneouslylikethis,thentheyarenevertogetherinthesamespace;thereforetheycannotexchangeequipment.)

Moving in the icefall region

Duringsetup,theicefalltokenswereplacedfacedown,soplayersdonotknowwhatisoneachicefallspace.Whenaguideenterssuchaspace,amovementpointisspentandtheicefalltokenisrevealed.Thetokenremainsrevealedfortherestofthegame.

Enteringthisspacecostsonly1movementpoint.(Sotheguidewhorevealedthisicefalltokendoesnotpayextramovementpoints).

2movementpointstoenterthespace.Theguidewhorevealedthisicefalltokenmusteitherpaya2ndmovementpointorelseretreattothespacetheycamefromwithoutlosinganextrapoint.Theguide’smovementcanthencontinueas usual.

Acrevasse.Thespaceisimpassible.Theguidewhorevealedthisicefalltokenretreatsbacktothespacetheycamefrom,andmaythencontinuemovementasusual.

ADDING ACCLIMATIZATION

Playerscanusecardstoaddacclimatizationpointstotheirclients.Anacclimatizationcardmustbeplayedonaspecificguideoraspecificplacedcamp.Pointsfromagivencardcannotbedividedamongguidesorcamps.(Ofcourseaguideorcampcanhavemorethanonecardappliedtoit.)Theplayerdistributesthecard’sacclimatizationpointsamongtheclientsofthegivenguideorcampasdesired.

Aclient’snewlevelismarkedbymovingtheclientmarkertothe

appropriatelynumberedspaceontheguide’sboardorcamptile.

SUBTRACTING ACCLIMATIZATION

Eachplayer’sdeckhas2cardswhoseusecausesalossofclientacclimatization.Theindicatedlossofacclimatizationpointsmustbesubtractedfromallclientswhoarewiththeguideusingthemovementcard.Reducingtheclients’acclimatizationisdoneduringmovement,beforetheacclimatizationcheckphase.

PLACING A CAMP

Aguidecarryingacampcansetthecampontheircurrentspace.Thiscostsasmanymovementpointsasthecosttoenterthespace.Onlyupwardmovementpointsfromaropecardcanbeusedtoplaceacamp.Onceplaced,acampremainstherefortherestofthegame.Withenoughmovementpoints,aguidecouldenteraspace,placetheircamp,andleavethespace,ifdesired.Agivenspacecanhaveanynumberofcamps.

USING OXYGEN

Atthestartofphase1,beforeselecting3cardstoplaythatturn,aplayermayspendoxygentanks(returningthemtothepoolbesidetheboard).

Onlyoxygentanksinaplacedcampcanbespent. Foreachoxygentankspent,aplayercandrawacertainnumberofcardsfromthetopoftheiracclimatizationdeck,chooseone,andaddittotheirhand.Theplayerdoesnotshowanyofthesedrawnacclimatizationcardstotheotherplayers.Unchosencardsareplacedinanyordertheplayerlikesonthetoporbottom(player’schoice)oftheiracclimatizationdeck.Thentheplayerdiscards(outofthegame)oneofthecardsintheirhand,withoutshowingit.Itcanbeanacclimatizationcard,butnottheonejusttaken.Thenewacclimatizationcardbecomespartoftheplayer’smaindeckfromnowon.

RISK TOKENS

Ifaplayerhastakenarisktoken,itmustbeapplied.

Ifthetokenhasvalue0,thennothinghappens.

Ifthetokenhasvalue1,thentheplayermustsubtract1pointfrommovementpointsoracclimatizationpoints.Thiscanbedoneinoneofthreeways:• subtract1 movement point from one of the played cards;• subtract1 acclimatization point from one of the played cards;• subtract1 point from the acclimatization level of all clients who

arewiththeguideonwhomthecardwasplayed.

Inthecaseofropecardstheplayermustdecide(asusual)whethertousetheupwardordownwardmovementpoints,andthepointissubtractedfromtheselectedvalue.Clients with a guide on whom no card was played that turn can not suffer from the risk token, nor can clients in a camp.

Ifthetokenhasvalue2,thentheplayermustsubtract2pointsaccordingtotherulesdescribedabove.Playerscansplitthe2penaltypointsbetweendifferentacclimatizationandmovementcards.Rememberthatapenaltycanbeapplieddirectlytoclientsonlyiftheyarewithaguideonwhomacardwasplayed.

MARKING VICTORY POINTS

Everytimeaguidewithclientsreaches the top,theownerreceivesvictorypointsforeachoftheguide’sclientswhohasnotalreadybeenthere(i.e.clientswhosetokensarestillonthe„notreachedthetop”side).Each climber gives 2 victory points. Each tourist gives 3 victory points. Eachclienttokenwhichreachedthetopisflippedtoits„reachedthetop”side. Reachingthetopdoesnotdirectlyaffectacclimatization.

Example: Ania’s guide takes 2 clients to the summit. One is a tourist and the other is a climber. Anne gains 5 victory points and flips both client tokens to their „reached the top” sides. Ania’s turn can continue as usual.

Everytimeaguidewithclientswhohavereachedthetopreturns to the base,theownerreceivesvictorypointsforthoseclients.Each climber gives 2 victory points. Each tourist gives 3 victory points. Afterscoringvictorypointsfortheclientswiththeir„reachedthetop”sideup,thoseclientsarereturnedtothepoolbesidetheboard.Note:thereisnoupperlimittovictorypointsearned.Ifneeded,playerscanmovetheirvictorypointmarkerbeyondthevictorytrack’smaximumvaluebackto1,rememberingthattheyhaveloopedback.

Wheneveraclientdies,theplayerimmediatelylosesvictorypoints. A dead climber costs 3 victory points. A dead tourist costs 4 victory points. Thedeadclientisreturnedtothepoolbesidetheboard.

Whenaplayer’spawnismovedtoanewvictorypointspace,itisplacedasfarleftaspossibleinthebox.Itisplacedtotherightofanypawnsalreadyinthatspace.Thiscanbeusefulfortie-breakingattheend of the game.

Example: Ania played 2 movement cards, with values 1 and 3, and an acclimatization card with value 1. She had the highest movement sum, so she took a risk token, which has value 2.She plays the move 1 and acclimatization 1 on one of her guides with 2 clients. She moves that guide using 1 movement point and gives 1 acclimatization point to one of the guide’s clients. She decides to subtract both risk points from the 3-point movement card, leaving it worth 1 movement point, which she uses to move her other guide just 1 space. This ends her turn.

WEATHER INFLUENCE

Eachweathertileshowstheforecastforthenext3days.Ittellswhattheweatherwillbelikeinspecifiedaltitudezonesandabouttherelevantmodifierswhichmustbeappliedatthosealtitudes.

Theweathermarkershowsthecurrentdayanditsweatherconditions.

Redcircleswithanumberindicateacclimatizationpointslostbyeveryclientatthegivenaltitudesinphase4(acclimatizationcheck).

Thisindicatesthatnomovementispossibleatthisaltitude.Aguidestartingtheturninthiszonecannotmove.Guidescannotenterthezone,neitherfromabovenorfrombelow.(Campscanstillbeplaced,however.)

Noeffect.

The indicator on a weather tile tells us which zones are affected. Each part of the dial corresponds to an altitude zone on the board. In the adjacent illustration, the cloudiness and negative acclimatization modifer affects two altitude zones: 6000 - 7000 meters and 7000 - 8000 meters.

4. ACCLIMATIZATION CHECK

Afterallplayershaveperformedactionsfromtheirplayedcards,thereareacclimatizationchecks.Eachclientischeckedindividually,addingorsubtractingtheappropriatenumberofacclimatizationpointsbyadjustingtheclienttokenonitstrackonitsguideboardorcamptile.Clientsareconsideredtobeinthesamespaceastheguidetheyarewithortheplacedcamptheyareat.

• Iftheclientisonaspacewithpositiveacclimatization(bluecircle),thentheclientgainsthecirclednumberofacclimatizationpoints.Iftheclientisonaspacewithnegativeacclimatization(redcircle),thentheclientlosesthecirclednumberofacclimatizationpoints.

• Iftheclientisinaspacewithacampbelongingtothesameplayer,thentheclientgains1acclimatizationpoint.

• Ifthecurrentweatheraffectstheclient’scurrentaltitude,thentheclientlosestheindicatednumberofacclimatizationpoints.

Attheendofthisphase,checkifanyclientshaveacclimatizationlevelshigherthantheirmaximumallowed.Ifso,theyarereducedtotheclient’smaximumallowed.

Ifaclient’sacclimatizationleveldropsbelow1,theclientdies.Theownerlosesvictorypointsandremovestheclientfromtheboard.(Butaplayer’svictorypointscanneverfallbelow1.Ignoreanyadditionalvictorypointlossesifaplayerisat1.)

Aclient’sdeathcoststhefollowingvictorypoints:• Climber: 3 victory points• Tourist: 4 victory points

Example: Zbyszek’s guide has a climber with acclimatization level 3 and a tourist with acclimatization level 2. The guide is on a space with negative acclimatization (-1) and an altitude over 7000 m, for which the current weather causes -2 acclimatization. Fortunately, there is a camp in that space (+1), so the clients each lose 2 acclimatization points. The tourist dies. Zbyszek returns that tourist token to the pool beside the board and loses 4 victory points. The climber now has only 1 acclima-tization point - still (barely) alive! Zbyszek will need to take care of the climber’s safety next turn.

Theplayerwiththestartingplayermarkerpassesittotheplayerontheirleft.Thenewstartingplayerwillbethefirsttodotheiractionsinphase3ofthenextturn.

Theweathermarkerismovedtothenextspaceontheweathertile.Ifitmovesfromthe3rdspaceofthelefttiletothe1stspaceoftherighttile,thenmovethatrighttileontothelefttile,revealingtheweathertilewhichwasbelowitontheright-asshowninthepicture.
