Introduction

The Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exhibition (EVS) is the world's largest international exhibition and symposium for all fields related to Electric Vehicle (EV), such as battery electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and fuel cell vehicles (FCV).

It is held under the auspices of the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA), with the venue rotating between North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific. The 31st EVS will be held in Kobe, Japan in 2018, and will be hosted by the Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI).

- 1969: The first EVS in Phoenix, USA - 1996: EVS 13 in Osaka, for the first time in Japan - 2006: EVS 22 in Yokohama

Evolving EV technology will be reaching a new stage, not

only for the initial environmental measures but also

within the realization of a "Connected Society" liaising

with electric power systems and information technology.

EVS 31 will be a meeting point for discussion about the

latest technology innovations and the new society

model based on the next generation's mobility. We

hope that EVS 31 will be the momentum that leads our

society to a new stage never seen before.

Electric Vehicles are drawing on new potential not only as a kind of transportation but also as "New Mobility" acquiring technologies such as AI, IoT, and automated driving.

At EVS 31, we are promoting the technologies related to "New Mobility" and a Smart Society that is safer and cleaner, and that provides us with new merits and new services.
